Great tune. I had this on vinyl in the ‘60s. I appreciate your keeping these old blue alive and passing it to new generations.

You´re really good at explaining how you play. I find that really hard when someone asks because you do a lot of things without thinking. Great video!

Wonderful! Just to say, it was written in 1940 for the Will Bradley Trio and their pianist, Freddie Slack (he gets a mention in the lyrics); Amos Milburn covered it in 1946 (and brilliantly). It's the boogie woogie tune that never dies 😁

Seeing as Amos Milburn's piano playing pre-dates (the 40's) Johnnie Johnson's early piano output (the 50's), it seems pretty certain that Johnnie borrowed some of Amos' licks when he started out with Chuck Berry. The licks I refer to are evident on Amos' live version which is on RUclips with the title: AMOS MILBURN Down The Road A Piece. Recorded Live 1954. Boogie Woogie Piano.

Henry, could you consider doing “move on down the line” Jerry lee style? I love the way it flows along but since it’s less well known no one’s done a tutorial.
