Seeing as Amos Milburn's piano playing pre-dates (the 40's) Johnnie Johnson's early piano output (the 50's), it seems pretty certain that Johnnie borrowed some of Amos' licks when he started out with Chuck Berry. The licks I refer to are evident on Amos' live version which is on RUclips with the title: AMOS MILBURN Down The Road A Piece. Recorded Live 1954. Boogie Woogie Piano.
Henry, could you consider doing “move on down the line” Jerry lee style? I love the way it flows along but since it’s less well known no one’s done a tutorial.
Great tune. I had this on vinyl in the ‘60s. I appreciate your keeping these old blue alive and passing it to new generations.
