Appreciate your outlook on this. I don’t talk about it, especially online or chat rooms or whatever but I battle(and continue to struggle daily walking on the razors edge) but seeing comments like yours, they are crucial to me and my success to keep fighting!!!! I do not include others because to me it’s an internal war that I can NEVER win alone. It’s not my place to speak for anyone other than myself because we all have our own story to tell. I will give my support to almost anyone, but like me, I/WE can only change if I/WE are willing to put in the work. Thank you for your random and unbiased support!!!!! Now let’s get this year over and I just hope that 2023 is as kind to everyone on this planet as possible and everyone can thrive(together)!!!!!!! Happy New Year, Nick.

One thing this proves is, if you look at Oli you think he “has it all”, he has a successful band, restaurant, clothing line, he is so talented, has a beautiful wife, beautiful house, decent amount of money, and he’s absolutely the most gorgeous man alive. No matter how successful we think people are they still struggle with metal issues, depression, and unfortunately hate themselves, and find no meaning in life. I have depression, anxiety, and too feel like life is pointless. I don’t hate myself, but I’m extremely insecure all the time. It oddly makes me feel better knowing that other people feel this struggle as well, I don’t feel as alone. I wish everyone positive vibes, and to find true meaning in life.

Look at all the other stars that have died from the same issues. Jim Morrison, good looking dude with a sexy voice and amazing personality, gone. Chester Bennington, Kurt Cobain, Scott Weiland, etc etc. It's a shallow industry they work in, and sometimes the fame and fortune isn't enough to be happy. Sometimes you don't allow yourself to be happy. Drugs are just a rabbit hole when you just want to escape in, and it's an unhealthy way to deal with your issues. As we all know. As fun as they are.

I completely feel his pain. I've never had any major issues with any drug, but I've been dealing with eating disorders since before quarantine. I was getting better around that time and then boom! Everyone stuck at home. Therefore, no weight loss control, so I couldn't check how I was doing. Of course I restricted my diet quite a lot. Down to no more than 600 kcals a day (being almost 20 and 1,65 m tall at that moment), sometimes, not even 400. I would be threatened with getting hospitalised if I didn't eat more. And by the time restrictions were starting to be lifted, I had already began suffering the comseqyences or that lack of eating. Terrible. That period was a nightmare for a lot of us for sure. 😰

Oli was my idol growing up. He’s the reason I became a tattoo artist, and introduced me to the style that I’ve grown so fond of. I met him several times between 2009-2012. He basically became a voice in my head that I used to navigate my life at the time. It got kind of disappointing after “that’s the spirit”, even more so during “amo” and “posthuman”. I used to see his life as a mirror to my emotions up until “amo” as well. While it hurts to hear the stuff they put out now, I’ll never not support what they decide to do to move forward. They ended up helping me have some of the best moments of my life. I just wish I could go back to that time…that feeling of truly being alive and not knowing what to expect around the corner, but having hope that it was going to be the next big thing. Getting older sucks, and I haven’t really felt much of anything at all lately. I guess everyone’s hopes and dreams die eventually. I’m just glad it lasted as long as it did.

In fact it does mention him being high as a kite and never coming down. “Addicted to the edge. High as a kite, I’m never coming down. If you hear me, guess you know how it feels - to be alone.” This screams addiction to me. Especially knowing Oli’s past with addiction and drugs."
I didn't say it isn't centered about addiction, but watch the official Genius video, where Oli himself talks about the song's meaning, it's definitely social media fakeness and intrusive thoughts relating to that. Also you have the first lyric wrong, it's "I'm tripping on the edge". The video leans more into the drugs aestethic, sure, but as a whole and especially lyrically, the song is focused on a different kind of addiction. He said it himself.

But yeah I see what you’re saying but I don’t think it’s crazy to see a double meaning to it. That’s the beauty of music, there’s so many sides and meanings that we can come up with, with certain lyrics existing to justify why we feel that way. I think we’re both right when it comes to the song’s meaning. Yeah he officially said that the meaning was one thing but, given his past, it’s not crazy to see another meaning mixed in there.

Give me a doobie, a whiskey, and a hot blonde, I'm having the night of my life while homeboy is slumped over in the corner. I just don't get it. He missed out on so many epic and memorable nights. Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Consistently Pray for forgiveness, guidance in a good (positive) direction, and for help against evil. Pray to be saved from hell (whatever that may be). Pray for your friends and your family too, it only takes a minute or so/less at a time to pray. Do it and your life will slowly get better, or maybe quickly. It probably just depends on you and the kind of person you are/have been. Don't wait until its too late and you have to suffer the consequences of built up bad karma from immoral acts/unrepented sins. Maybe together we can help make the world a better place by changing ourselves for the better, and changing things around us for the better.
And addressing/thanking the CREATOR, LORD GOD at the beginning and end of your prayers would be a good idea 😊
Or just be my friend if you don't want to say the prayer 😄
I'm trying to help you get right with the LORD 🙏
    Amen.
I have worded a short prayer for you to say if you are not sure what words to use, it may not be the best but here it is 😊
    '' CREATOR, LORD GOD,
Please forgive me and my friends and my family for our immoral acts, please help guide us in a positive direction and please help us against evil. Please save us from Hell and have mercy on our souls. Thank you CREATOR, LORD GOD. Amen. ''
Please say this at least once a day for at least a month, do it longer if you want to and can 🙏
You should prostrate yourself if you don't want to do spoken prayer, or do both 🙏 Please worship the LORD GOD and not any idol. 🙏
Say ' Om Namah Shivaya ' out loud or in your head 108 times, or try to do it 1008 times 😊 try to do it everyday if you want
repeat this aloud for as long as you want to, try to do it for like an hour a day or say it in a prayer "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner"

I assume that it doesn't work like that. He explained numerous times that the heaviness of survival horror was inspired by events that were happening in the world and how he wanted to let out his anger and feelings about them. Sole fact that he used ketamine in times when the band wasn't that experimental doesn't mean that if he starts to use it again the band will go back to the old sound.

Oli needs islam. It would help him find a meaning to life and it has a routine that would give him a sense of stability. It also emphasizes to look at the life around you and the little things and be thankful for them and emphasizes being a kind person and doing good. It's also logical. I think it would help him a lot since I've heard from many people who have addiction issues/existential crises turn to it and find comfort. You just have to go in with an open mind without preconceived notions.Just my opinion.

I'm glad he's enjoying the simple pleasures and enjoying the little things in life now. He deserves it, as someone who saw hell, and built the strength to pull himself back out, and shared the story with other people struggling with the same thing. Some people just choose to stay dead inside or can't see a way out. I know his music helped me get out. I share his music with my little sister cause I know she struggles with depression and anger, and having music or SOMETHING to relate to how you fee, and something to help you cry it out is important.
