Imagine my surprise when I reached the end of the video not only to learn that you two agreed on the same game as your number one selection, but also that it was a game that I’ve heard absolutely nothing about. You’re the best, thanks!
Ah so many cool and good looking games to try! Thank you for putting on my radar a lot of games that I didn't see in any other Essen related videos. It's also astonishing how did Vincent Dutrait manage to put out that vast amount of illustrations for so many games in a such a short period.
First time watching you two and really loved the energy. My wife is exactly the same re competitive games. I play boardgames because I love them, she plays boardgames because she loves (beating) me :) We'll say hi if we see you at Essen.
So many games!!!! But games aside, we cannot wait to see you and play some of those games! 🤩 Some of your picks might show up on our list as well, but it looks like they will end up pretty different, which I love! See you soon 😮
Ohhh, First Time in Essen? I hope you will have a great time! I go to Essen since 25 years. But I am sure this will be an adventure. I was the first time on GenCon last year and it was overwhelming for me! 🙂
I am so happy to hear that you are coming to Essen this year. I will be coming with my teenage daughter and really hope to run into you two. And I love your lists.
Amy, you need a t-shirt that says “I love me a good rondel” 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉 So excited for these games too!! So happy you both get to go to Essen!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks again, Thinker Themer! I noticed the most in-your-face card on your background board is "New Mexico". If your planning a trip out here, let us know!
You made my list of games I want to look at much longer 😂 Good thing I'll be there all four days. My favourites to look at Essen Spiel are Agemonia, Nucleum and Kutna Hora.
I'm looking forward to Arborea. I backed it after hearing about it on this channel this past winter. And that one worker track does look like an interesting mechanic. Evacuation sounds intriguing too!
According to BGG forum there will not be many copies of Tequila. So you may want to preorder if you want a chance to get a copy. Small booths are often very quickly sold out, and a few German Boarfgamers have been mentioning Tequila in their lists 😉
Hello Amy and Maggie! Connie and I were happy to run into you at GenCon and get the chance to say hello and tell you, in person, that we enjoy your videos. We couldn't tell you details at the time, but it looks like Connie's game will also be available in time for Essen!
There is a new set up at Spiel this year, so they are hoping to keep similar games together in the same hall (family/kid games, minis/thematic games, expert games). I am curious how that will go. I have been twice. It is overwhelming! The first time, we didn’t buy anything because of information overload, though we demoed a couple of older titles. The second time, we got to demo a new release, bought a few games, and enjoyed the experience even more. Might go this year, but not sure yet. One tip: The halls can get very crowded and bottle-necked, and you might find yourself getting hit by people’s backpacks and big shopping bags of games. The noise level is also a bit overwhelming sometimes. My husband brought ear plugs the second time to help him deal with the constant hum. Hopefully these things won’t bother you. Have a great time!
Thanks for the list. I'm adding Shipyard to my wishlist. Yes, totally agree on solo mode needing to be as little maintenance as possible. I'm not interested in how many points the solo can make lol Just let me play my side! :D
Can't wait to hear about another one of your adventures! I'm interested in seeing more about Jekyll & Hyde, Match of the Century (because Watergate was fantastic), and Sea Dragons. Have fun!
So many really neat sounding games on this list… looking forward to seeing these pop up in the next few months/year I think Arborea, Knarr, Match of the century, and Tequila are particularly intriguing… nucleum and planta nubo look interesting but I really get turned off by steampunk-esque themes :/ but we will see! Have such an incredible Essen-adventure!
I normally watch German boardgame youtubers, but they seem to have similar tastes, so it is very refreshing for me to see your list. I hope there will be a German Version of evacuation, sounds great and I like the most Suchy games. Black Friday was originally not released on 2F, so the Publisher Kosmos decided a non F title. It is our favorite stock game, but it has a terrible written rule book. So I think you will enjoy it.
Very much enjoyed your lists, ladies. I am very excited for Evacuation myself. Nucleum would never get played at my house unfortunately - I would, but my husband would definitely not. Planto Nubo is also on my list. I am anxious to see what else is coming out at Essen that is not on anyone's radar - yet.
Those new maps for Welcome To sound amazing! I don't know if I'd buy a whole Collector's Edition just to get them, but I'm not saying I definitely wouldn't, either. 😅
Great video, thank you! Quick question, apart from the new releases which appear on the BGG list, how do you find out which older games are going to be there? (Looking at you, Nokusu Dice!). I can’t work out how to find this info, either on BGG or the Spiel website. Thank you!
Amy is smart. She is putting more games with valid excuses without saying are honorable mentions. In Puerto Rico and in our youtube channel The gaming dragons we use in some videos the spanish word " ñapitas" to talk at the end of our list of other games. Is like a kind of honorable mention. Or other way to break the limit of a top10 list and add other games.
So, if you like Friese's solo games and hand Management, then try finished. The topic is not as interesting as friday or freaky frogs, but it's a very good solo game
i have to second Finished!... i slept on it for a bit but just realized there is a free app. i just logged 7 20-30min games in the past couple days and have a physical copy on the way lol
I didn't back unconscious Mind but I late pledged dream worlds a while back. Even though there has been almost no information on it. 6 nimmt / take 5 esque with Bosley and Dutrait were enough!
How was your trip, I saw you a zombie paella, when the last copy Rebel Princess was given away, but I did not want to disturb you talking. I hope you had a good time, and can not await your thoughts on the games you got. Thanks for all your Videos
Snake game on the mobile vs. Sea Dragons comparison and Maggie's face...every time her reactions gets me laughing! Maggie, this makes me think you may not be a good poker player 😉😆
...looking after my niece this afternoon after her first morning at primary school, paused the video on my big telly and she walks in , sees you both in large wonderful technicolour and says...'oh it's the fingernail lady and the bright top girl again uncle leslie...' she was less impressed when i told her that the new board games you are talking about might have to mean a sort out of her toy cupboard
Very nice list.... See you next month ;-) I am at Essen Wednesday till Friday. Hope to meet up, maybe you want to testplay my game, but I guess you'll be filled to the brim with meet-ups.
I find your interest in witch-themed games highly suspicious... 🤔😜 Btw, as a regular Spiel visitor (8th time this year): 1) It's big, but if you have all fours days you'll be okay. 2) Playing games is hard to do, space is at a premium at the fair, so most companies can't afford to offer a ton of tables, they need what little space they have for showing and selling. Be prepared for having to decide based on a quick explanation by someone at the booth (if that). 3) Playing is mostly done after and outside the fair, everyone everywhere is trying the new games they bought with friends, family or complete strangers. Hotels often set up big play areas for their guests. 4) the "festival" elements are mostly limited to the central gallery. It's not huge but you'll find most of the good food options there, and in the outside areas (access from the tunnels between the halls). 5) Everyone from the board gaming world is there! Hopefully I'll see you there too 😊
Fair warning, I bought and disliked both Undaunted and Resist!. Resist was too hard and punishing for me but mechanically interesting, Undaunted the dice ruined the game for us. Too swingy and random.
Imagine my surprise when I reached the end of the video not only to learn that you two agreed on the same game as your number one selection, but also that it was a game that I’ve heard absolutely nothing about. You’re the best, thanks!
So many awesome looking games in this video!!! Love all the info!!! Thank you!!!
This would be a great quote for a T-Shirt: "Is it dry enough to be a Euro?"
Or a wine glass

We'll say hi if we see you at Essen.
Woah! I don't think I've ever watched a video that made me add so many games to my to buy list! Thanks for all the research :)
Been playing Knarr on BGA and absolutely loving it. I need it to come to the States soon!
So many games!!!! But games aside, we cannot wait to see you and play some of those games! 🤩 Some of your picks might show up on our list as well, but it looks like they will end up pretty different, which I love! See you soon 😮
Thanks for another wonderful and for making my Essen preparation easy :-)! Take care and hope to see you there! Cis
Great video pretty ladies! Hope you have a super time at Essen!

Well selected List, lots of matches. Great that you're coming to Essen, will look out for you 🙂
Amy, you need a t-shirt that says “I love me a good rondel” 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉 So excited for these games too!! So happy you both get to go to Essen!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very excited about Rats of Wistar!
Thanks again, Thinker Themer! I noticed the most in-your-face card on your background board is "New Mexico". If your planning a trip out here, let us know!
Great listing! Also highlighted some games I hadn't heard of yet ❤
Forest Shuffle is sooo good! Highly recommend!
Rebel Princess looks amazing!
Rats of Wistar has captured my childhood nostalgia of The Secrets of NIMH (also Luciani + rondels, yes please!).
You made my list of games I want to look at much longer 😂 Good thing I'll be there all four days.
My favourites to look at Essen Spiel are Agemonia, Nucleum and Kutna Hora.
Great games on your lists. Hopefully we will meet at Essen
My first time at Essen too... would be great to bump into you guys there!
i did sort of lose my mind, yes :)
I'm looking forward to Arborea. I backed it after hearing about it on this channel this past winter. And that one worker track does look like an interesting mechanic.
Evacuation sounds intriguing too!
Im really excited for Nucleum, Evenfall, and Evacuation
According to BGG forum there will not be many copies of Tequila. So you may want to preorder if you want a chance to get a copy. Small booths are often very quickly sold out, and a few German Boarfgamers have been mentioning Tequila in their lists 😉
Where could we pre-order that ?
Hello Amy and Maggie! Connie and I were happy to run into you at GenCon and get the chance to say hello and tell you, in person, that we enjoy your videos. We couldn't tell you details at the time, but it looks like Connie's game will also be available in time for Essen!

Excellent choices. Our favorites game to buy of your list are Sea Dragons and Rebel Princess 🥳
Thanks for sharing this list! Nucleum and the new version of Jeckyll & Hyde look quite interesting to me.
@18:38 wait for it.... Chess the Musical - Maggie you are just the best!!! 😆
Can't wait to hear about another one of your adventures! I'm interested in seeing more about Jekyll & Hyde, Match of the Century (because Watergate was fantastic), and Sea Dragons. Have fun!
Thank you so much for Knarr! :D
the number 2 I all ready preordered it , I’m also waiting the number 1 to be available to buy it also. 😊
16:02 Oh! That sounds interesting!
So many really neat sounding games on this list… looking forward to seeing these pop up in the next few months/year

Have such an incredible Essen-adventure!
Rebel Princess is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
One of my favorites games of the year! Super funny and unpredictable 😂😂
Never heard of Planto Nebo. Excited to learn more about it.
The game evacuation sounds like similar mechanics to space station pheonix. I like that one, so I'll keep my eye on this new game. Thanks!
I normally watch German boardgame youtubers, but they seem to have similar tastes, so it is very refreshing for me to see your list. I hope there will be a German Version of evacuation, sounds great and I like the most Suchy games.

Very excited to play Nucleum.

Planto Nubo is also on my list. I am anxious to see what else is coming out at Essen that is not on anyone's radar - yet.
Great list! don't feel bad sneaking extra games in - the more the merrier!
a top 20 list maybe? :)
Those new maps for Welcome To sound amazing! I don't know if I'd buy a whole Collector's Edition just to get them, but I'm not saying I definitely wouldn't, either. 😅
Nice list! I really hope the reprinted Shipyard has a wide distribution as I have been trying to get my hands on a copy since I started the hobby.🤞
Match of the Century kinda reminds me of Raptor? Where the higher number gets the action points but the lower number can activate the ability, no?
Nucleum and Inferno are on my list
Great video, thank you! Quick question, apart from the new releases which appear on the BGG list, how do you find out which older games are going to be there? (Looking at you, Nokusu Dice!). I can’t work out how to find this info, either on BGG or the Spiel website. Thank you!
I love that Maggie is a Chess the musical fan!
You made my Spiel list so much longer… And I only have two days!
29:02 Have you checked out Rahdo’s runthrough of it?
I can't imagine I'll get to play any of these games -- it's just the way things have gone. But at lot of them look cool, Evacuation is particular.
Amy is smart. She is putting more games with valid excuses without saying are honorable mentions. Is it for sale? Will it be for sale in the United States?
Many light games on this list. The last few entries helped balance it out.
Witchcraft! has been on my list since I showed up late to the crowdfunding campaing. 😀
So, if you like Friese's solo games and hand Management, then try finished. The topic is not as interesting as friday or freaky frogs, but it's a very good solo game
i have to second Finished!... i slept on it for a bit but just realized there is a free app. i just logged 7 20-30min games in the past couple days and have a physical copy on the way lol
i assumed that nubo was referring to cloud, so like cloud plants, which makes some sense
I didn't back unconscious Mind but I late pledged dream worlds a while back. Even though there has been almost no information on it. 6 nimmt / take 5 esque with Bosley and Dutrait were enough!
Oh and Jonny Pac and Fantasia Games have yet to flop for me.
Jekyll & Hyde v SY Sounds soooo fun!!!
How was your trip, I saw you a zombie paella, when the last copy Rebel Princess was given away, but I did not want to disturb you talking.
I hope you had a good time, and can not await your thoughts on the games you got.
Thanks for all your Videos
Have ya'll gone to EVERY Con possible this year?! Well, if you make it to BGG Con this fall, I call dibs on getting to play a game with ya'll!
I agree I reckon you pronounce it "Nu-v-o".
Sure, the one year I will not go to Essen will be your first year 🙈 will you travelling through Europe before/after the Spiel?
Snake game on the mobile vs. Sea Dragons comparison and Maggie's face...every time her reactions gets me laughing! Maggie, this makes me think you may not be a good poker player 😉😆
...looking after my niece this afternoon after her first morning at primary school, paused the video on my big telly and she walks in , sees you both in large wonderful technicolour and says...'oh it's the fingernail lady and the bright top girl again uncle leslie...' she was less impressed when i told her that the new board games you are talking about might have to mean a sort out of her toy cupboard
I'm going for my first time too!! (Alone 😢)
Want to play some escape rooms in the evening? 😂
Calculating that new suitcase size just got a tiny bit more complicated. 😬
Very nice list....
See you next month ;-) I am at Essen Wednesday till Friday. Hope to meet up, maybe you want to testplay my game, but I guess you'll be filled to the brim with meet-ups.
I find your interest in witch-themed games highly suspicious... 🤔😜
Btw, as a regular Spiel visitor (8th time this year):
1) It's big, but if you have all fours days you'll be okay.

Rats..rats...rats ..are way to low on the list, I would place them at least on 2-3 place. (At least this is my opinion)
