I looooove Albrechts Diary so much. English is not my first language, but the way it is written and delivered evokes a certain feeling in me that no other medium ever has. The performance... feels so alive? And now we are up to date! Whispers in the Walls set up the vibe of 1999 soo nicely!
„And it was not their force of will, not their Void devilry, not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly broken thing...and take away its pain.“
@@SmoothTurtle840 Wally is the ugly broken thing, something warped by the spite Albrecht felt with his own failures as wally mimics what it comes in contact with.
@@SmoothTurtle840 it’s a quote from Ballas so it’s checks out 🥴 but in all seriousness, I just like this quote in reference of the scene with the vessels, since we don’t blast the vessel that is attacking the laboratory but calm it instead. First heard it referenced in this context in a video from @TheDsIEGE ! He does great lore videos on Warframe in my opinion.
The man in the wall is the entity/consciousness in the void first introduced with Chains of Harrow. Freeing Rell freed the Man in the Wall. Albrecht Entrati accidentally created it when entering the void unprotected. He introduced consciousness to the void and it reflected exactly that. He cut off one of its fingers with part of the glass bell meant to protect him and used it to create the reliquary drives used in void travel technology. Also why the wall was missing a finger in the cutscene in the new war. The Man in the Wall is the current main antagonist.
1. Man in the Wall is not technically freed. His influence is growing, but still limited. And it is something related to our deal with void entity. 2. Bell supposed to be protection against void. But it was broken (UPD: after rewatching sequence Albrecht unluckily cut bell surface with the edge of the Lohk Gate, which is rasor thin, and bell has shattered), and Albrecht was exposed to raw void. Like Kavia did. 3. Albrecht didn't cut fingers of the MitW. Neither it happened with bell. He managed to find opened portal and travel back out of the void. He couldn't speak this moment, but he felt void reaching him, and stumbled on shard of his bell. He cut his hand and written in blood to his daughter to close portal. Entity already reached through, when portal closed, in this severing finger (or fingers). Original was studied and sealed. Copies, then, were used to create reliquary drives.
Something a lot of people miss is the two vessels at the end take the exact same pose that Albrieght and Loid did right before Loid locked him into the time coffin. That hand on the cheek. The one attacking was feeding off of Loid's anger and indfference to Albright that he was feeding it. So the pose reminded Loid of love and so calmed it. Thats why when the camera zooms out, Loid has his own hand on his own cheek while staring at the two statues.
Cavia syndicate development story (when you upgrade Cavia syndicate levels, you choose reward and then it will show scene) is definitely something you should pay attention to.
For 25:40, when Albrecht mumbles to Loid... members of the fandom have enhanced the audio: "My Loid, I only wish that I could have been worthy of you." meaning there was a correct answer at 1:07:45. This begs the question: were there right answers all the other times, too? Perhaps Wally took us that way when we offered him our light in The New War's Zariman... flashback? (edit: 'that way' as in taking the light from inside us or something. the "right answer" was 'dark' alignment on the WF wheel thing) 1:05:50 - as Ballas said in The Sacrifice: And it was not their force of will - not their Void devilry - not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing - and take away its pain. 1:08:35 - Wally crushes the Lotus flower
The warframe wheel represents traditional Yin and Yang, Light/Yang: Lack of emotion, logic, efficiency, and being active. Yin/Dark: Emotional, passionate, caring, passivity. Yin-Yang/Balance, a balance of the two. All the previous answers have followed this format and general traditions. While there is likely a correct answer to each choice, the wheel is not the indicator. The only exception to this behavior is the first couple uses of the wheel, as the war within and I think the glast gambit treated it more like the stereotypical north american view of the yin-yang, that is to say good and evil.
I'm playing through at the same time, so haven't watched many as I don't want to spoil anything. Grind all of the assassination missions to get the warframes. Only use platinum on warframe and weapon slots. Join a clan to get everything else that you need from the labs.
You can absolutely cheese it with Wisp due to her passive. She's the best for stealth MR tests since it usually takes away active abilities (poor Ivara...)
"The audio in this scene can't be used on RUclips..." We should always follow that up with the clip of when DE premiered that scene and said, "Streamers, don't worry about copyright strikes when you reach this moment." It's even worse because it was such a perfect combination, using a song titled "Into The Void" that was released in 1999... On a not-really related note, the subway sequence immediately brought back memories of another MMO, thanks to the equally mind-blowing experience of playing through the Tokyo Subway Incident in the tutorial of Secret World.
The BIG thing to know about the Indifference, the man in the wall, "wally", is that it feeds off of emotion and uses it against us, think of the Duviri Paradox and how emotions played a part in it.
This was another great one. Would love for you to do a compilation of all the scenes that play when you upgrade your faction ranking with the Cavia. Im surprised you still havent done Octavia's Anthem and a few of the other side missions before all these story quests. Looking forward to whatever you post next.
It's great to see you getting so into warframe. I know it's hard to get started, but once you get late in the star chart and into end game and learn the mechanics it's such a an amazing game and there's never a lack of content
The finger that the man in the wall is missing everyone has already found. When you first complete your railjack and explore it you can find his finger powering the ship in a pod and you can hear a laughter of your kid self
It's so terrifying how Wally can use the love we feel for others as a weapon against ourselves. A weapon to make us the worst of ourselves to do what he wants. Albrecht knows this and he knows that to defeat Wally we must be true to our feelings and who are. Part of my theory as to how Albrecht is fighting against Wally alongside use from ages long past.
The Nine Inch Nails song was cleared to use by Warframe streamers. They said there won't be copyright strikes for it. Muting it means we're missing your reaction to the big Arthur and 1999 reveal :(
48:50 worth noting how it calls you there "Mara Lohk" based on what is known of the voidtongue at this point loosely translates ot "Child of the Void" and its not the 1st time such a nexpresison is used ot refer to the Tenno.
Rap tap tap is from Rell - Rell was using the voice of knocking (for example the finger in RJ engine knocks or u can sometimes hear it in certain moments in quests) because he was guarding our world from Man in the Wall and heard it A LOT. When u chose what to do with a Kuva u CREATED WALLY - kinda a void version of yourself. A clone. Same how Albrecht had his own Wally - 16:46. Everytime u met Yourself with Black eyes in quests ("Hey kiddo", Zariman, The handshake to "help" you with Lotus) it was Wally. A thing to note. The Drifter didn't have any contact with Kuva yet. He doesn't have his Wally and it could be important later.
MAYBE the fact the Drifter has no (never has contact with) Wally is the reason Lotus choose him (Drifter) to go back in time in "The Lotus Eaters" So, he can't be tracked down by them. I just realize now that "Eaters" has in "s" in it.
@@GamerSnap I think so too.. the eaters could be a reference to infested frames in 1999 trailer. Seen somewhere that it could also be connected to the helminth strand as the naming of some bacterias or viruses are called similar
The events of The War Within had nothing to do with The Man in the Wall’s creation. Several sources state this. For one, in Chains of Harrow, we find out about The Man in the Wall’s existence, and that Rell had been keeping it at bay ever since the Zariman Ten-Zero incident. Both Rell and Palladino mention that with us unburdening Rell, The Man in the Wall will be able to act unimpeded, and then begins tormenting the Tenno (this is why you start to see apparitions identical in appearance to your operator after finishing the quest). Second, the exposition Albrecht provides us with the Requiem runes (as seen in this video) reveals that The Man in the Wall existed back when he discovered and first accessed the Void. Furthermore, there is information that implies that his contact with the Void caused a manifestation that created The Man in the Wall. Lastly, in at the end of The War Within, Teshin tells us-although cryptically-that the Kuva has no significant effect on the Operator physically, and the decision of what to do with it is more of a symbolic choice and shows our character.
What's crazy is if you read the murmur mods for your parazon, you can arrange them anyway however you want it, it still comes off as a linear poem/prose.
I can finally start talking abit more freely. So, The Man in the Wall is known as "The Indifference", which you may know from H.P Lovecraftian works. The Indifference seems to mirror the Yog-Sothoth, with how the Operator calls out to The Indifference to be saved from the Void Madness, and the "Operators" that died where the sacrifices to please it. Warframe has it's own lore, so not EVERYTHING is a 1 to 1. Because we "broke" whatever deal we made, The Indifference could also be inspired by Clavicus Vile from Elder Scrolls, who is very much a trickster similarly to The Indifference. While not AS likely, another being it The Indifference could be, or be mirroring, is the "Godhead". In C0DA, one of the creatures is a TV headed being similar to the TV being in the Arthur part. As for Arthur, none of what I'm about to say is lore, or even confirmed to be at all connected, so please bare that in mind. Arthur appears to be, or connected to, Hayden Tenno, the protag from their previous game Dark Sector. In Dark Sector, Hayden Tenno suffers from the Technocyte virus, which among other things, is a metallic growth on the skin, which is rather similar to the lore of Umbra Excalibur. Arthur appears to be either the inspiration for Warframes, which you so duly noted thanks to his powers being that of Excalibur. Since Warframe 1999 is not out yet, we don't know if Arthur suffered from a similar virus to Hayden, or if these humans were special, or what, so we really don't know how he inspired Warframes. Hopefully we get more answers than questions once 1999 comes out.
Yup. At least as shown on RUclips, the only ones he has left are optional, Warframe-specific ones: Octavia's Anthem, Limbo Theorem, Sands of Inaros, Hidden Messages, and Jade Shadows. And 1999 Prologue.
Mactics, wally, aka "man in the wall" is the gigantic men stuck in a WALL you saw at the end of the new war, that' is his real body, and if you look closely, you can see that he's missing a finger(top right hand), plus, if you take a good look above the laboratory(where all the 3 cavia and loid are, just exit and check that open area full of sand where you fought the fragmented) you can see that the rock is shaped just like the man in the wall AND sometimes you can spot his siluette when looking down the the laboratory tileset/undercroft when there is that voidstorm. also, when the operetor asked lotus "what did you see?" ans she said "nothing" thats because the operator didn't saw the man in the wall while lotus did, she's the only one who had sensed him at that time.
disagree on the last part, the tenno's expression definitely looks like they saw what we do because it's our POV character. what lotus saw however is the mystery because it's linked to whatever deal she has with wally. they're both aware that the indifference exists so idk why she would pretend not to have seen it, and it makes no sense that the tenno wouldn't have cause we can see it everywhere else no problem
@@PreciousCosmos I think wally was hiding his presence on purpose at that moment..I mean, why even ask"what did you saw" if the tenno clearly saw him? "Are you ok? Did he did something to you?" I was expecting something like this, Instead, the tenno act like as if wally wasn't there.
@@makorutledge202 idk, it's definitely subjective but it's hard for me to believe that the tenno saw nothing at all. that may have been asked because they wanted to know if she could see wally too cause up to that point, it'd only been us having interactions with it. it's not until lotus eaters that the tenno gets definitive proof that she knows. maybe they could see the doppelganger but not the vitruvian form as it's implied to be "the other face" lotus saw some time previously
1:07 Highly recommended Falcon, been my favorite Glavie weapon, its auto-tracking range is insane, and it only require for Rank 8 so you can use it for Rank 9 test plus electricity built-in. and too bad we can't hear what Mactics saying during he fast time met Arthur, It might be difficult, but if the talking could have another audio track.
45:10 that is how you know the person is The Man in The Wall, Wally if you will. He gots those Void Pink eyes (well sometimes a slightly different color but you get the point), the eyes give him away.
Yeah this quest is the first of a new chapter still being written. Personally I’m quite eager to see what mind bending horrors Wally has in store down the line.
I recall in that MR mission, I used the gunblade. I never even left the starting platform at the back. The gunblade is a melee weapon, so it autotargets. And when the gun portion triggers, it not only uses no ammo, but also uses the melee autotarget function. So I could slaughter all the guards from across the whole map, then just casually head over and mash the globes when I was done. Although the glaive cheese was fun to watch too. :)
Wonderful following you through your tenno journey, Mac. I wonder, now that you are up to date with the current expansion (well, after you play TLE) if you plan on playing the side missions. They offer fun worldbuilding for the universe. The limbo Theorem, Hidden Messages and The Silver Grove are some of my favorites.
Btw the "deal" Wally made with us was giving us void, he is a godlikr entity that controls the endless power of the void and he let us (tenno) harness the power to defend ourselves in the zariman when the catastrophe struck. Funny enough, Baroo kteer the semi weekly merchant also made a deal woth wally (u see each time he came around he would have his rooster of items be new on pc, and 1 or 2 cycles later the same stuff would be brought to console) and when crossplay came, he started selling the same stuff to everyone as he was "able to fuse all his versions across the eternalism"

I know it was a typo, but "good travel technology" is sending me XD
@@DimkaTsv bro did not read the additional lore after killing scathing whispers in the labs
Wonder if Albrecht specifically looked for a guy named "Arthur" to give him the Excalibur strain.
Poetic literature bastard.
I mean that's basically who Albrecht is.
"He put him in a box... and beat him with a hammer!" 😂
The ending had me enlightened with compassion for my fellow human beings

For real, within a month he’s already pretty much where I am, with more fashion and Random stuff then me too😅
For 25:40, when Albrecht mumbles to Loid... members of the fandom have enhanced the audio: "My Loid, I only wish that I could have been worthy of you." meaning there was a correct answer at 1:07:45. This begs the question: were there right answers all the other times, too? Perhaps Wally took us that way when we offered him our light in The New War's Zariman... flashback? (edit: 'that way' as in taking the light from inside us or something. the "right answer" was 'dark' alignment on the WF wheel thing)
1:05:50 - as Ballas said in The Sacrifice: And it was not their force of will - not their Void devilry - not their alien darkness... it was something else.

It was only cleared to use on the tennocon reaction reveals to whispers at the time.

worth noting how it calls you there
"Mara Lohk" based on what is known of the voidtongue at this point loosely translates ot "Child of the Void" and its not the 1st time such a nexpresison is used ot refer to the Tenno.
Grell? think you edited the wrong part of your comment dawg
MAYBE the fact the Drifter has no (never has contact with) Wally is the reason Lotus choose him (Drifter) to go back in time in "The Lotus Eaters" So, he can't be tracked down by them.
I just realize now that "Eaters" has in "s" in it.
@@hazeysr yup xd
Absolute CINEMA, 1999 will be the goat
You're the first streamer I've seen immediately figure out Jotaro wasn't talking to Arthur
to beat the indifference with love
i love warframe so much
What's crazy is if you read the murmur mods for your parazon, you can arrange them anyway however you want it, it still comes off as a linear poem/prose.
Idk if anyone said it but entrati daughter that he talks about is the now mother from demios
He's pretty much caught up on quests, right?
Wild

The finger is the engine for the railjack right.
Btw with a gunblade you can complete test without a step
I think there was some symbolism at the end where the operator is holding a lotus flower, almost like wally has her in his grasps
45:10 that is how you know the person is The Man in The Wall, Wally if you will. He gots those Void Pink eyes (well sometimes a slightly different color but you get the point), the eyes give him away.
THIS is what I've been waiting for. Whispers is by far my favorite update.
Yeah this quest is the first of a new chapter still being written. Personally I’m quite eager to see what mind bending horrors Wally has in store down the line.
The audio in that cutscene can in fact be used on youtube. Digital Xtreme set it themselves when they announced it and played it live.
37:30 It'd have been nice if subtitles were added here, just to know what you were saying y'know?
What’s also cool is that some developers of the game are also voice actors aswell

Albrecht Entrati was a husband of Grandmother in Nekralisk. So his daughter is A Mother(that then was named Aurelia, and if you remember lessons about eternalism, it was her who talk about this stuff, at the last panel there was even info that all of this is "by Aurelia and Albrecht Entrati". You can find Albrechts statue on Zariman. With this weird bowlike helmet.
When Man in the wall reach to him from void and Albrecht order his daughter to close portal it severed Wally's finger. That piece of flesh kick start all void based technology. Basicaly every time when you see somewhere big finger its a cloned version of original.
Nope, Grandmother is not the mother of "Mother". She's the parent of Father. Grandmothers name is/was Dagath, which is explained in Dagaths (the warframe) lore.
Grandmother is not the "mother" of Entrati Mother, she is the "mother" of Father. In short she is the in-law of Entrati.
