    Misha is one of my favourite RUclipsrs, what a driver.
    It's amazing to see him being able to complete the ring in your amazing M2.

    That noise Misha made a 8:51 lol. I'm sure it surprised the hell out of him, and I would have done the same, but too funny. It would be my dream to be on the Ring with Misha, but me driving, of course, just to hear his comments on how good or bad I take certain sections (I'm a Gran Turismo racer at best). Great video. Misha FTW, always, dude is legend.

      I think we were both equally scared as the snap was quite loud. The camera was holding well on my lap but I thing going over the curbs made the clip loose. It’s a great experience. I’m not sure if he’s still doing tutoring but there’s more guys at apex doing it. Defo wort doing it.

    Excellent. Thanks for sharing your experience with Misha on the 'ring. Very interesting to see how your essentially stock M2 coped. Like yours, other than being lowered on KW V3 coil overs, my 2018 LCI is stock. Clearly the brakes need upgrading for that sort of speed. Question is, what do you upgrade to (brakes)?

    • @MDrives

      That’s the question I will be asking myself probably next year, although, with me behind the wheel, I would never get them that hot.

      @mdrives I would recommend a good set of track brake pads. I've done a lot of research and there's a big difference among brake pad compounds and brands. I've tested Ferodo DS 1.11 on my local track with no issues. Pagid is a solid company as well.

      6 front and 5 rear. They are fantastic on bumpy roads too.

    So glad I came across your channel and the videos testing the Bilstein B16s as I have just placed an order for my own M2. Definitely very happy already with the purchase and seeing from your content that they handle great in street and track (at the 'Ring no less!) Did you keep the setting at 6/5 for the track?

    • @MDrives
      @MDrives  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks and congratulations! The original setting is soo good I had no push to play with it yet but I have that in plans. Go full soft and hard and see how big difference it actually makes. If you go back to the previous year I took M2 to Cadwell Park and Three Sisters when it was completely stock. Unfortunately I had a brake fade with stock brake fluid. That should be the first thing to change if you go on track.

      @@MDrives Good idea, I will play around with full soft and full hard and then find the right balance. Very excited. I've had KW has and lowered the car but the ride was so harsh, especially in really bad roads around town.
      Ill check out your older videos with stock suspension! I also have RBF600 as I heard it's the first thing to change to avoid brake fade. My first track weekend with RBF600, Ferodo DS1.11 and Kw HAS was a decent combo

    Nice to see what my OG can do! You eere stock brakes? I have B16 litchfield tuned variant are you running off the shelf? I run 7 front and 4 rear on the damper settings for daily use. Went to millbrook and turned front to 8 but shouldn't have, need the compliance on a course with bumps, imagine the same as nurburg too. I did M4 seat swap into my car, so much nore suportive and its weird first drive you do in thrm because you are so much more connected to the car. Keep an eye out on ebay. Also did Misha hit the 155mph limiter at one point?! Cheers

    • @MDrives
      @MDrives  Год назад +1

      My B16 are original variant. Currently on 6 front and 5 rear. Brakes discs are stock, pads EBC Bluestuff NDX, lines and rbf600. I’m yet to play with suspension settings so will see where I will settle but current settings work for me for now. I’m really tempted to change the seats. If I find some in good price I might get them. He did hit 155mph but the limiter kicks in at 163mph. Regards

      I contacted him a while ago if he would like to do a lap for his channel. He said sure. Then on the day it turned out he already had quite a few videos with M2 so he would struggle to make an interesting story out of it. But he said I’m happy to do one for your channel. Absolute legend considering how busy he was (he was lapping other cars before and after this lap).

    Does this M2 have a stock shifter ? Because I heard they are rubbery and therefore not really suitable for hard track use.

    • @MDrives
      @MDrives  Год назад

      The internals are stock, the shifter was changed to M performance one (see my videos from about two years ago). The original one feels bit rubbery. This one make shifts feel more mechanical as there’s not padding in it.

    • @wheelwrightpl9429
      @wheelwrightpl9429 Год назад

      @@MDrives But the shifter internals are unchanged, which means the difference in feel must be minimal. I believe you need to replace shifter's internal rubber bushings with harder polyurethane ones to have a more noticeable difference. I am considering doing that in my 2014 N235i, but I am afraid the polyurethane bushings will increase Noise Vibration Harshness beyond acceptable levels.
