I am hoping to join as a logistics mover, do you have any information on the scores required to join this role? Regardless I can only try and hope for the best.
Again thankyou for the help.

Do you get to choose to be a pilot or are you selected for any role?
Chomping at the bit.
do you need to be able to swim for a role as a weapons system operator
Callum
You don't need to be able to swim as part of the application process. However, if successful, you will do water training as part of your ongoing training etc, so it would be useful if you can swim, but it's not a requirement for entry.

Have you applied yet?
How many marks do you need to become a supplier in the Airman test?
Do u get to give a preferred type of aircraft you want to fly and then they decide or do you get no choice at all
Hi
You can give a preference, but there are many different factors that are taken into account as to which aircraft type you'll be streamed to. Body dimensions, operational requirements at the time etc. It's the RAF that will make the final decision. You apply to be a pilot, the RAF decides which type of aircraft you'll fly.

Hi guys, I’m an applicant in the process of joining the Royal Air Force.
I’ll be covering the entire application process on my channel, which may interest some of you.
I posted my first video regarding the DAA on Saturday.
Please let me know if it was helpful, thank you.
Does it matter what background you are from if you want to join the RAF?
Hi
No, as long as you meet all of the entry and eligibility criteria listed on whichever role page you wish to apply for you can submit an application. It's how you do through all of the different stages of the process that will determine entry.
RAF Recruitment
I always wanted to become a pilot and I recently graduated from college I just to know whether RAF would sponser me for my pilot training.
Thanks for your replying in advance
Hi Naveed
As long as you meet the entry requirements for the role you can apply. The RAF trains all its pilots from scratch.

Do we need an A-level (A-C) in physics or maths, or physics AND maths??

for what? for an officer you need A levels or a degree or equivalent and for airmen/women you need gcse's.
Mg army has no I jury training can I televise our encountering we reqesaut a copy of this document we claim you are hiding veg weapons
Are you more likely to be selected if you were in the cadets as a corporal or sergeant?
Nope, you still need to meet the entry requiements
Uncle Bones thanks.
yeah of course, but as long as you meet the entry requirements. The Cadets, Duke of Edenborough award or anything extracurricular that you have taken part in will help.
I would love to be in the RAF and fly fighter jets but my dream is crushed due my eyesight being out of the range that is required to fly a plane. Hopefully I can join as a technician for a plane so I can at least work with a jet

It's all on their website
Are A levels absolutely necessary or is a college degree ok aswell? And do they have to be in specific subjects...
Hi
Entry requirements vary from role to role. Everything required is listed on each role page on the RAF Recruitment website, this includes a link to show what we accept in lieu of GCSEs and A levels. Have a look at all of the information on the role your interested in on the RAF Recruitment website:

Does the training get you fit or do you need to be fit before hand? I'm struggling to find a job and can't afford to go to the gym, I'm not fit and I'm underweight.

You'll need to be able to pass the fitness test requirements as part of the application process. Full details are listed on the RAF Recruitment website on every role page.

I am currently 21 years old and I will be graduating from university this summer. Apparently recruitment for the pilot role is closed at the moment, but is there any estimate of when it will reopen, as I am worried that I will exceed the age cutoff.
Also, I do not have any military experience and I missed the opportunity to join the cadets, but will that put me in a disadvantage against those who have been in the cadets or UAS? I am considering signing up to become a adult volunteer for the cadets to gain leadership skills and some knowledge about the RAF
Hi
You need no prior experience to be able to apply and join, we train everyone from scratch. You only need to meet all of the entry and eligibility criteria listed on the role page on the RAF Recruitment website to be able to apply. The process determines your entry.
There's no set dates for when role will open or close. If you register for it you will be advised the moment it opens and invited to submit an application. The recruiting year runs from April to March and roles close once we have filled the slots we have each year. But there is no guarantee they will open every year, it depends on manning requirements.

Can people with coeliac disease currently join the RAF?
Good stuff.
Which college would you go to if you wanted to be a fast jet pilot please?

The choice of which college or sixth form you go to is yours. You only require GCSEs and A levels to apply for the pilot role. Take a look here for the entry requirements:www.raf.mod.uk/careers/jobs/find-jobs/aircrew/pilot/

Can you join the RAF reserves if unemployed or in full/part time education?
Hi
Yes, but you'll need a two week block for initial training at RAF Halton and then be able to commit one weekend per month. Only you'll know if you can do that with education requirements too etc.

As long as you meet all of the entry and eligibility criteria listed on the role page you can submit an application. Everything else is looked at during the application process, including your medical to make sure you're medically fit for service and the role you've applied for.

Good thing I go ay cadet
Do RAF technicians / engineers see combat (dying to know the answer aha).
This is everything we do at air cadets. For kids above 13, go Air Cadets first. We basically do the same thing as this.

You apply to be a pilot, the RAF decides which type of aircraft you'll fly in service. Entry and eligibility requirements are listed on the role page on the RAF Recruitment website.

I have my helicopter pilots licence and have 1000hrs flying time. Do o really need to do all that shooting and stuff?

So that I can plan to study before to sit the test. Thanks. Also, any advice on which book should I buy to prepare myself before the aptitude test? Thanks
Hi
It will all depend on a number of different factors. The entire application process normally takes between 3-9 months to complete from start to finish. But is currently taking a bit longer. You should apply when you're ready to face all stages of the application process, only you know when that is.

You're aware there's been a global pandemic, right? ;-)
The covid 19 situation has impacted certain stages of the application process and has increased time through the it. Under normal circumstances it can take as little as a few months to up to a year, again, depending on the role you apply for and when you actually apply for it, with training date availability and other factors.
Kind regards

I have bad eyesight, It's something like _D, (something D, I think anyways)
Will that mean I will not be allowed to be a fast jet pilot? I passed everything else.
At the age of 7 I was recognised by a group of strangers because of my skill on this bomber landing simulation..
And my uncle was in the RAF. He tested me on quite a few things and I passed all of them.
But it's just my eyesight. Without wearing contacts or glasses, I can't read about 11 feet away.
get laser eye serger then as this is the only way you even stand a slight chance of being a fast jet pilot... its highly oversubscribed sp it really is very hard to get selected for it! never mind the fact once your in you are told what kind of pilot you will be. your eyes in their current state rule you out from any kind of pilot role... sorry ps4zombiegaming
N
You need to be 100% fit to be a fast jet pilot maybe go for aircrew instead
PS4ZombieGaming you were recognised on a bomber simulation 🤣 yea mate might aswell just recruit you now
Nobody gives a shit how good you were on a flight sim, honestly, I wouldn't even tell them about your time on flight simulators! If you don't have 6/6 uncorrected vision then you have no chance. You might be able to do another role and apply for a commission and get it that way

Sleepy When you gonna join?
In my days you would get to recruitment, and the first thing that happens is you have a hair cut, so don't cut your hair before hand. You do not have skin heads, that is the american marines and in the movies and tv. You have to have a hair cut at recruitment, even if you had one the day before.
You don’t have to
@stanly stud ??? What? Do they?
Do u have to shave your head ?
No, you don't have to shave your head. Although, if you apply for a Regular role you'll have a short haircut at the start of your phase one training, but it's not shaved. As a Reserve you won't have a haircut.
