Mayer Hawthorne ends his two-month long US Tour on April 15th in San Francisco. The unusual juxtaposition of jazz and skateboarding is what makes this video especially superb, and even though he sings of the golden sun, I think the overcast skies and cloudiness in much of the video add to the sort of longing and nostalgia of the song.

i swear stone throws is the best record label ever. they have the GOAT or rap, MF DOOM, they have 2 of the greatest hip hop producers of all time, j dilla and mad lib and they have mayer hawthrone who is one of the only jazz artist of this day and age and a great one at that

This video has three things I love: I am a big Mayer Hawthorne fan, I love the city of San Francisco and I got major love for skateboarding. This video kicks monster ass and this rendition of a classic song is why I stay a Mayer Hawthorne fan.
I'm 35 years old and I still skate to sounds like this. Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Dino. I guess as I've gotten older and found the finesse of riding vert and street it soothed and makes me smoov. It's got a groove and soul that gives one a break from all that your face hoobla... it's legit and I can dig it. Stripped down to the soul and I ride that way too. Peace out yo! And slide on... (oldtimer)
I've always thought San Francisco seemed like on of the most beautiful and funnest places to skate. San Francisco footage always puts a smile on my face.
I love the song and the video. The whole is just magic!! I would never believed that skateboard and jazz music blend together so well the mix is just very surprisingly beautiful, and also I love the melancholy that contains the song mixed with the video... I cannot explain it moves me that's all....
