    When I get engaged in creative stuff such as painting, drawing, knitting or crocheting my brain starts to realise there is no danger. So these are my favourite activities

      Thanks for the reminder. I haven't done any of that in years. Makes sense that by doing creative things it would tell the mind if I'm doing this I must be ok.

    Took a friend out to a peaceful ruined ancient Abbey in the heart of northern England in a beautiful wooded valley. We spent the day sitting, relaxing, enjoying the peace, eating picnic and chatting now and then. She has had severe back pain from a genital condition for many years. On the way home she commented on the traffic coming back into the busy town and how she had felt relaxed and eased-of pain whilst we were in the old Abbey grounds and that she could then markedly feel a tension once again returning in her body as we approached home.

    Thank you, Dan, just what I needed to hear today! Getting more and more aware of my thoughts, I feel the fear rising when I'm doing "too much". The best thing then is to react with self-love, to appreciate that it's like this. There's no need to change it immediately, just relax, beeing with the fear and surrender to the process❤! I think it's the same why it is not enough telling a child" oh, don't be ridiculous, there is no Monster under your bed", this won't take away the childs fear. And just telling myself that I'm safe without treating me with compassion and taking myself seriously, I just pass over myself- like the mother of the child from the example above...
    Again.. thank you for giving me this room to grow and heal!

    I have low iron and iron stores and I work really hard to not to exacerbate symptoms. I have really great control over my body and can get myself out of vertigo and high heart rate quickly
    What’s tough is, the day to day minor symptoms. The lightheadedness and muscle cramps. I have to be patient to restore my iron and stores and I find it difficult because I want to feel good NOW
    I’m currently watching Joe Dispenzas new series called Rewired and watching your content. It’s the damn black and white thinking that this will never end is what gets me. I can’t gain the perspective

    I’m having an interesting ‘problem’ . I have actually hurt my shoulder ( been a couple of weeks) . But because a lot of my pain has been TMS. I keep thinking , this is TMS.
    So instead of it being TMS and thinking what is this, I hate this …..
    i have pain which deep down I know will heal and go away in a few weeks, but my brain keeps saying it’s TMS , do the TMs ‘ work’ and it will go. But it isn’t .
    So my fear needs to be turned down, I will heal shortly

    I think my brain may be trying to protect me from my husband who has been emotionally unsafe. I've had an anxious attachment style which makes things he does or doesn't do triggering. Symptoms can arise after being with him for a long time. I'm trying to work through it with counseling and retaining my brain (that he is not the problem). I can't avoid him.. Any advice?

    How do you think about tendonopathy Dan? Sarno mentioned it in his books as a symptom of tms, but tms is (I think) more about muscle? I’m diagnosed with gluteal and quad tendonopathy: rest stretch and excercises to eliminate it. On the other side…I did the test on the website and score 41 out of 50. You’re videos are helping me a lot!

    • @LilyOscar333
      @LilyOscar333 3 месяца назад +3

      Hi I was diagnosed with gluteal tendonopathy about a year ago. It is wear and tear of the tendons, which I suppose is natural as we age like disc degeneration. Tendons as you probably know connect muscles to bone. It can be painful in some people but not in all. The most important thing is to strengthen your muscles and keep active. It’s not for fixing but to keep your body strong so you can enjoy the things you love, walking , dancing 💃🏿, hiking , etc. Once I strengthen my glutes, quads etc 80% pain gone. Keep moving and living your life . Just my thoughts ❤️🌺⚽️

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  3 месяца назад +5

      TMS is not just about muscle. 41 of 50 means you have TMS, not tendonopathy. Your brain is creating the pain, not your body. Focus on the mindbody approach I teach and stop physical treatments.

    • @onildilig60
      @onildilig60 3 месяца назад +3

      Why will you stop physical treatments when it helps you become stronger?
      I have multiple herniated discs.tried tms, stopped physical treatments iincluding heat pads.
      My body got weaker.lost muscle and strength.
      My mind got stronger, stopped thinking i was doomed and incurable.
      So now , i do what i believe will give me a chance to heal or avoid surgery.
      Exercise, make my body strong, use heat pads when i feel i need it, think this is just temporary ,build core strength. It's mind, and the exercises for core strength.
      I believe in some of the tms approach, but a combination is not bad at all.....this is based on my experience. I know we are all different. Never stop trying.
      There is no downside for both TMS and PT approach....

    Hi Dan...I have tms. & one of the symptoms I can't identify....I have been listening to your videos for 3 yrs. I tried to ask you about it( I can't find it on your channel) but you never answered me. I've only asked you 2 questions in 3 yrs. It's about a " knocking" sound in my lower back( I've had back pain/ sciatica for a long time) I think it's called crepitus. Can you tell me if it's a tms symptom? We have no doctors where I live that even know about tms! It's grinding crunching sound.
