I love the change tbh, it's like a breathe of fresh air from all the unnecessary drama of girls planet which was definitely the most evil-edited season of the produce/planet series by far💀 Mnet editors really had the time of their lives making the Chinese girls look bad every chance they got😭
Mnet kinda did Kamden dirty by cutting out most of his rap parts(the parts where Jay also did the cool vocal riffs). But yeah Rush hour was definitely the best performance from episode 1. Also the Hanbin+Matthew agenda is working, good job Mnet. Btw Kamden only got 3 stars
I already feel like Mnet is biased towards Jay. They cut to his reactions quite a bit during the actual show. Though I kind of can’t blame them because they do make me laugh and he’s entertaining 😂 Obviously he’s very talented as well but it’s not fair to Kamden who also did a really great job in the performance.
Same with Anthonny. They cut his high notes during episode 1 and they also cut the part where Haruto's voice was shaky. Haruto is definitely good but you can already see who mnet favors.
If the group is gonna be 100% made by the public, people really need to think before voting. Talent is the most important thing, and sorry but trainees like Daeul being in the top 9 right now and trainees like Jay being 30 sits bad with me

The first ranking is all based on pre-show popularity so it's always gonna be a bit odd when compared to what we actually see on the show. Jay wasn't on knetz radar before this ep so him ranking 30 already is actually really impressive bc that's almost solely on international support! There will always people that will prioritize being endearing over talent, that's just something we gotta live with. There's one way to not have these contestants reach the final line-up and that's for Mnet not to give them screentime.

As we saw in Girls Planet 999, the public is too dumb to actually consider group dynamics and positions while voting. Mnet can't interfere with the voting, but they can with editing and already have a concept and debut song for the final group planned and picked their favorite contestants, who would fit into these ideas. My guess is, it's around 20 guys (faves + substitutes). These will be pushed with more screentime, story arcs and even maybe some character development/redemption arcs.
I think it’s very unlikely that the contestants chose the songs themselves.. the unit that performed gods menu, according to those talent diagrams they made themselves, are not confident in rapping at all, the whole performance was just a set up from mnet I fear
Not to mention multiple groups/contestants did the same song. You're automatically setting yourself up for comparison by doing that, so i doubt the chose that themselves.
3 things: 1. As an SM stan I was APPALLED...... 2. JUSTICE FOR KAMDEN! His rapping was so good (something that was missing from Ep. 1) yet Mnet cut his parts out! 3. I wish judges could choose some members. I'm sorry but I do not trust fans to make a cohesive group with a lot of talent.
As an Anthonny stan rn they cut out like all his parts and that didn’t sit well with me so I hope he can keep his spot in the top 9. Also as a fellow Kim Jiwoong stan I waiting for him to slay me

after the episode jay has literally jumped to my top three i am literally in love hahahah i was so upset we could jiwoongs performance cuznow we have to wait for next week but i'm so excited i'm sure he'll slay ugh HE NEEDS TO DEBUT when i saw how high he was in the voting i was so happy like i knew he was popular but it was still so shocking

i hope Mnet doesn’t take Gunwook’s confidence and evil edit him to look arrogant or selfish going forward. he’s way too talented to NOT debut in this group. i also think a lot of people are picking their favorites for kind of pointless reasons. like their visuals, personality, or what country they’re from. like, we have the power to debut a powerful group of insanely talented members, so rooting for someone that really can’t sing or dance that well just based on how funny they are or how hot/cute they are or where they’re from just isn’t right. this is a musical group we’re forming, talent should come first and a lot of these trainees just aren’t ready to debut yet, and need more training. not naming names but seeing the top 9 after the first day of voting floored me. meanwhile Jay who is one of the best vocalists there is 30th and Gunwook, an all-rounder, is 15th. kpop stans need to get some of their priorities sorted 😭
"View", "Rush hour", "All I wanna do", "Beautiful" and "Kick it" by k team are my favourite performances so far! The sad thing is that some of them(G team of course) were done dirty by Mnet. They showed us only 2-3 seconds of vietnamese team's perfomance like it wasn't one of the best ones 🙄 And I still can't get over the fact that they edited out Na Kamdens rap part, which made it seem like he wasn't there, this is really sad because Kamden and Jay are my picks. Btw I'm happy for Matthew for getting recognition he deserves
I was flabbergasted when I saw the vietnamese boys' full performance on youtube, like, they did so well! Their singing was one of most stable in all the performances, I couldn't believe they didn't show it to us. And yep, I'm also a little worried that they boys who'll debut will be choose exclusively by fan voting.

the final lineup being completely up to the fans terrifies me because we all know how people sometimes choose their favorites... so i hope they use their brain and vote based on talent and skills rather than just who's cuter and friendlier. i was already rooting for jay and this ep confirmed it, his performance with kamden was perfect. i also can't wait for next week to see hui (i'm still wondering what he's doing there) and jiwoong, i have high hopes for him
At the end of the day, they will choose their favorite. This is like some kind of addiction. You know that person is more talented than your favorite person but in the end, you will choose your favorite person because you want to see them more.
I am so done with Mnet's favoritism, really. The amount of screentime they give to some idols, while cutting it from others makes me mad. I am voting for Jiwoong and Krystian, they are following their dreams for so long, I want them to debut. Their charisma is insane. Also, Kristian has very pretty voice.
I love Jay so much, but the ranking he had when episode 1 was released was around the 30th place. Hopefully by next episode his ranking will be much higher
That ranking was only based on live votes of about 10,000 people + global fans only count for 50% of the vote. It's not a bad rank but certainly one that should motivate his fans to support him even harder

I am the biggest fan of Jay atm I need him in the group. I love people who use their facial expressions to their advantage and Jay OUTSHINED. He looked like he was having fun, he grabbed people’s attention… I’m obsessed.
Park Gunwook is a real main slayer.. They made him dirty when they gave him 3 stars but I think youngjun realized his dancing talents and they were all amazed so I'm not gonna be pissed
Honestly Ollie did so good in both dancing and rapping, I'm sad he only got 3 stars but it is what it is. He is def one of my favs and hes so underrated 🥲
I'm 100% sure the whole My House performance and the interactions were staged (both guys even had matching outfits). And you can't tell me someone who trained for years sings as bad as the guys doing HOT and Shine. It's the same situation like with the Chinese twins in Girls Planet. Mnet gave them a song out of their vocal range and told them to sing badly. These boys will either be eliminated in the first round or there is a big redemption/improvement arc planned. We have to remember that Mnet already has a concept and debut song at least partially ready and already chose their faves who would fit + substitutes if the faves don't make it. I would guess they have around 20 people they will push and manipulate the audience into liking them.

But I also think that most of the people who care to vote are used to Mnet's tricks and will at least try to see all the performances before choosing favorites. I feel like all the contestants have made themselves very likable to the audience so far, too, so it does make it harder for people to survive just on personality.
I only have a set top 5 right now. Sung Hanbin, Zhanghao, Jiwoong (slay me next episode, king!), Matthew, and Gunwook. Junhyeon is so close to entering my fixed top 6, but I need to see him perform! I think he would be a great addition to the debut group. Not only is he talented, he's incredibly funny which would help in variety shows! Too excited for Thursday.
Gunwook is my number one pick and can already see how Mnet is painting him as the "overly confident cocky guy". I also understand that they (mnet) tried to make the atmosphere "intense" when they were doing the whole "K Group v.s. G Group" thing when they all had their break time and went to their rooms to touch up their makeup and stuff, but everyone was just simply saying things like "G group is better"/"There aren't that many good people in K group" and all that, but once Gunwook said "G group is good but K group is better", then looked at the camera and mnet slowing down on him........... @FlagGov Exactly! Tbh, personally there weren't many contestants that have caught my eyes. So I chose some more to match my top picks to form a certain image and concept. But I will keep my eyes on each one of them since they are all trying their best to chase their dream. Doha and Mingyu might not be great now, but I picked them hoping to see they would improve on the next mission. But, the other 7 won't be stay on my list too if the other contestants shine better than them.
I'm glad to have found someone else who appreciates Choi Jiho's rapping and Winnie's, well, everything. Rush Hour definitely was the best performance of the episode. Sadly Na Kamden only got 3 stars not 4. Idk why? Maybe they were one of the last acts to perform when they were filming the demos? The mentors are always more strict by that point. Might've been a similar situation for the Vietnamese contestants. Tho that was even more ridiculous! There's no way Cong should've been rated 1 star, even if his pronunciation was bad. In GP999 Mnet decided the teams, songs, and assigned parts. So it's likely they've done so again for Boys Planet.
Cong is my one pick, but I really think it was unfair that they didn't air the Vietlines performance. I mean I know it wasn't exceptional, but they were at least stable. Also conspiracy on Lee Dong Gun's criminal meme edit. According to people who saw round one, he is main vocal material. Maybe they are training to edit an improvement arc for him?
Your ranking was perfect... But for the 1st round I wanted to let them focus on their vocals then for the 2nd round do dancing for the 3rd round do vocals and dancing... They should add it also too if the contestants are able to play instrument they can play the instrument and sing
My picks so far are Hui, Matthew, Sung Hanbin, Zhang Hao, Ricky, Jiwoong, Wumuti, Keita, Haruto, Winnie 💕💕 I honestly think Winnie should get an opportunity to debut! He is so talented! Really praying that the final lineup consists of at least 13 members because 9 is too less! I know that it's awesome that fan voting is considered important and it's a good thing, but remember the incident "Jeon Soyeon Calling Out the Voters in My Teenage Girl"? Yeah I don't want that. I know damn well the Hui is gonna be in the final lineup (which is fucking awesome!! Vote for him to bless our ears with more masterpieces!), so the trainees that reach to the top 9 need to be somewhere close to Hui's level.

Yuehua Kick It - G Group choreo showcased the individual members better whereas the K Group obviously had better vocals. I've been loving the interactions between Seok Matthew/Sung Hanbin (this is not the first time), even MNET thinks the chemistry between them are worth exploiting, I'm not complaining, they're adorable separately and together, please please have them debut in the new group! Gunwook is a beast, but of course there are other concepts they will need to master. Jay/Na Kamden duo - Jay has charisma, Na Kamden can dance, we'll see when they give them other concepts to perform, I think Na Kamden may come out the better because he's more diversified. Lee Hoe Taek [Hui] evil editing needs to stop, I said I'm gonna tune in without the wah wah wah references to his age (the ageism is not cool!), or crying because he's not with his Pentagon members, or the prime season of Pentagon has been and gone (the use of Shine), OMG. Let him perform, I want to see Hui in action, let him off the leash, the man needs to work!
I love how lighthearted this episode seemed and how they were really cheering and supporting each other as they performed. I know Mnet did the K- Group and G - Group feud that they usually do but I’m not taking it too serious. I don’t have a top 9 yet because there are just so many trainees that I like right now but there are a couple trainees that I’m rooting for 100%. Hui Chen Kuan Jui Sung Hanbin Seok Matthew Zhang Hao Chen Kuan Jui is my top pick. I thought his performance when he performed solo was so beautiful and he has such strong stage presence and skill that if he doesn’t debut I’ll be so sad. I couldn’t take my eyes off him during his groups performance. He just did so well and I hope he gains popularity.
I already see a mostly Korean group happening bc of the 50% k vote, 50% g vote… I am hoping Matthew and Kamden make it so I’m hoping Knetz will just accept them as Koreans rather than abroad foreigner Koreans… Also they don’t choose their own songs, so the ones performing Criminal weren’t shooting themselves in the foot. I’m hoping for Chen Guan Jui too. I think his audition was really fascinating and I appreciate good contemporary dancers. I was a fan of JungJung (Zhu Zhengting) who was really ignored in Pd101 so this would be justice for me.
I know mnet has historically picked the audition songs for the contestants so I’m curious if they also did so this time because that just sets some people up for failure right from the get go
Yujin was very pitchy for his kick it performance so I personally wouldn’t say he did well in that area, so I’m confused as to why he got all stars, but then again the judges are somewhat inconsistent with their criteria
Hi fellow JiWoong fan! ❤️ Can’t wait to see him perform. I am obsessed with Jay and Kamden’s performance. I also saw no flaws. The rapping, vocals (wow), dancing and charisma were all there. I’ve rewatched it many times. I didn’t realize I loved so many of the G-group’s performances more than K-Group’s by the end of the show 😅 The voting by fans could be troublesome but I think there are enough people that will actually vote for talent since the ultimately the final group will flop in the end if there is no talent to back them up. Ep 1 was a fun watch in general ❤

I'm pretty sure thst they didn't get to choose their own stages. It was revealed after girls planet 999 that their demo stages was chosen for them, and it's quite obvious that the "My house" duo was set up.
Honestly, Krystian carried that performance, the vocals in general weren't the best, but his parts didn't sound bad to me, and I feel so bad for Ichika, it's the same with him, the performance in general wasn't good, but he had some nice parts here and there, idk why they didn't give him more lines, he's actually not a bad singer, maybe they just need a little work :')
I love the tone of his voice. Seobin is very good as well but I personally prefer JiWoong’s voice. He also danced in a cover of Dynamite and he was Tae. He was really good and got Tae’s vibe perfectly imo. You can find it on YT.
If you watched idol producer where lay was a judge you will remember that the trainees graded themselves initially and after their performances the judges graded them
I think my problem with the editing was a lot of people were turned into just backup dancers and their names weren’t even mentioned once. I can’t imagine how difficult it will be for them to build a fan base and get votes.
I think Kamden only got 3 stars. I was so disappointed because they focused so much on that performance but entirely cut Kamden's rap out. I hope more people will look for him and watch the full performance because it was amazing.

It's because of MNET's evil editing that I decided to watch the unedited performances that were uploaded on their channel first instead of watching the first episode.
the thing is that they didnt even choose the songs, they were given the songs and the foreign trainees did not practice as a group until they got to the filming location
To me, it's evident that MNET chose the songs for groups to perform and want to create a K vs G group rivalry (see: yueha vs yueha). I don't have any hope for the show since most of my favs are already being screwed over LMFAOOO. I just hope they will be able to utilize this opportunity for the future.
Everyone should know by now that majority of survival series edit stuff a certain way to follow a storyline and some groups may be given the same songs to sing for a reason. Hell I didn’t even think the ‘evil editing’ was that bad this episode. Of course they have their favourites and If you’re aware of it, it shouldn’t bother you. Just don’t fall for it. What did bother me was the live singing in Boys Planet is definitely more edited and smoothed out compared to girls plant 999 were I could hear their raw vocals more in these first round of these demo stages. I definitely recommend people to watch the full versions online on MNET RUclips channel cuz I do think they are cutting things out just for entertainment purposes.
I have to say I’m in love with Jay and I have a wierd infatuation with Gun Wook. I’m excited to see how they grow but for now they my top picks along with Ricky, bl dude. And omg I cried when Minseok cried
When I watched the First Episode I kind of felt bad for Kamden because the whole spotlight was on Jay, I mean, yeah Jay was really good but they didn’t give Kamden a chance to show his talent at all
I'm not a fan of idols who go to these type of survival shows. It doesn't matter if their companies wants to promote them, I do believe it is the companies' job to promote their groups. And I really don't want that Pentagon member to debut here, considering it's gonna be a permanent group. Pentagon is still active and CUBE should promote him. He actually HAS a place to return unlike Yujin, who basically confirmed CLC was abandoned by the company.
i voted based on talent and what performances i liked the most from the first episode .. i didn’t really pay attention to their personality vids i wanted to go into the show fresh without any bias towards certain people 😩😩 .. but i think some of these boys r rlly talented the songs weren’t right for them 😭😭😭 it was very entertaining to watch tho ☠️
With haruto his mic fell it feels like that affected the sound too like it became weird due to the sound I think he was given full stars or 3 stars due to his professionalism

"View", "Rush hour", "All I wanna do", "Beautiful" and "Kick it" by k team are my favourite performances so far! The sad thing is that some of them(G team of course) were done dirty by Mnet. They showed us only 2-3 seconds of vietnamese team's perfomance like it wasn't one of the best ones 🙄 And I still can't get over the fact that they edited out Na Kamdens rap part, which made it seem like he wasn't there, this is really sad because Kamden and Jay are my picks. Btw I'm happy for Matthew for getting recognition he deserves

I'm 100% sure the whole My House performance and the interactions were staged (both guys even had matching outfits). And you can't tell me someone who trained for years sings as bad as the guys doing HOT and Shine. It's the same situation like with the Chinese twins in Girls Planet. Mnet gave them a song out of their vocal range and told them to sing badly. These boys will either be eliminated in the first round or there is a big redemption/improvement arc planned. We have to remember that Mnet already has a concept and debut song at least partially ready and already chose their faves who would fit + substitutes if the faves don't make it. I would guess they have around 20 people they will push and manipulate the audience into liking them.

I only have a set top 5 right now. Sung Hanbin, Zhanghao, Jiwoong (slay me next episode, king!), Matthew, and Gunwook. Junhyeon is so close to entering my fixed top 6, but I need to see him perform! I think he would be a great addition to the debut group. Not only is he talented, he's incredibly funny which would help in variety shows! Too excited for Thursday.
Gunwook is my number one pick and can already see how Mnet is painting him as the "overly confident cocky guy". I also understand that they (mnet) tried to make the atmosphere "intense" when they were doing the whole "K Group v.s. G Group" thing when they all had their break time and went to their rooms to touch up their makeup and stuff, but everyone was just simply saying things like "G group is better"/"There aren't that many good people in K group" and all that, but once Gunwook said "G group is good but K group is better", then looked at the camera and mnet slowing down on him........... Tbh, personally there weren't many contestants that have caught my eyes. So I chose some more to match my top picks to form a certain image and concept. But I will keep my eyes on each one of them since they are all trying their best to chase their dream. Doha and Mingyu might not be great now, but I picked them hoping to see they would improve on the next mission. But, the other 7 won't be stay on my list too if the other contestants shine better than them.
I'm glad to have found someone else who appreciates Choi Jiho's rapping and Winnie's, well, everything. Rush Hour definitely was the best performance of the episode. Sadly Na Kamden only got 3 stars not 4. Idk why? Maybe they were one of the last acts to perform when they were filming the demos? The mentors are always more strict by that point. Might've been a similar situation for the Vietnamese contestants. Tho that was even more ridiculous! There's no way Cong should've been rated 1 star, even if his pronunciation was bad.
In GP999 Mnet decided the teams, songs, and assigned parts. So it's likely they've done so again for Boys Planet.
Cong is my one pick, but I really think it was unfair that they didn't air the Vietlines performance. I mean I know it wasn't exceptional, but they were at least stable. Yuehua Kick It - G Group choreo showcased the individual members better whereas the K Group obviously had better vocals. I've been loving the interactions between Seok Matthew/Sung Hanbin (this is not the first time), even MNET thinks the chemistry between them are worth exploiting, I'm not complaining, they're adorable separately and together, please please have them debut in the new group! Gunwook is a beast, but of course there are other concepts they will need to master. Jay/Na Kamden duo - Jay has charisma, Na Kamden can dance, we'll see when they give them other concepts to perform, I think Na Kamden may come out the better because he's more diversified. Lee Hoe Taek [Hui] evil editing needs to stop, I said I'm gonna tune in without the wah wah wah references to his age (the ageism is not cool!), or crying because he's not with his Pentagon members, or the prime season of Pentagon has been and gone (the use of Shine), OMG. Let him perform, I want to see Hui in action, let him off the leash, the man needs to work!

I love how lighthearted this episode seemed and how they were really cheering and supporting each other as they performed. I know Mnet did the K- Group and G - Group feud that they usually do but I’m not taking it too serious. I’m hoping for Chen Guan Jui too. I think his audition was really fascinating and I appreciate good contemporary dancers. I was a fan of JungJung (Zhu Zhengting) who was really ignored in Pd101 so this would be justice for me.

Yujin was very pitchy for his kick it performance so I personally wouldn’t say he did well in that area, so I’m confused as to why he got all stars, but then again the judges are somewhat inconsistent with their criteria

I'm pretty sure thst they didn't get to choose their own stages. It was revealed after girls planet 999 that their demo stages was chosen for them, and it's quite obvious that the "My house" duo was set up.
Honestly, Krystian carried that performance, the vocals in general weren't the best, but his parts didn't sound bad to me, and I feel so bad for Ichika, it's the same with him, the performance in general wasn't good, but he had some nice parts here and there, idk why they didn't give him more lines, he's actually not a bad singer, maybe they just need a little work :')

Everyone should know by now that majority of survival series edit stuff a certain way to follow a storyline and some groups may be given the same songs to sing for a reason.
Hell I didn’t even think the ‘evil editing’ was that bad this episode. Of course they have their favourites and If you’re aware of it, it shouldn’t bother you. Just don’t fall for it.
What did bother me was the live singing in Boys Planet is definitely more edited and smoothed out compared to girls plant 999 were I could hear their raw vocals more in these first round of these demo stages. I definitely recommend people to watch the full versions online on MNET RUclips channel cuz I do think they are cutting things out just for entertainment purposes.

And I really don't want that Pentagon member to debut here, considering it's gonna be a permanent group. Pentagon is still active and CUBE should promote him. He actually HAS a place to return unlike Yujin, who basically confirmed CLC was abandoned by the company.

I honestly think they're going with the American Idol version of this show because there's no way a Korean show will blatantly allow this many people with a lack of talent.
