Today I’m driving from Ontario, Canada to Rochester, New York USA to do a 24 Hour stealth camp at Golden Corral Buffet & Grill.
This will be the first 24 hour video eating at an All You Can Eat restaurant.
We’ll be eating multiple plates of food for Lunch and dinner, visiting a friend in he hospital and I’ll try to have a good nights sleep in my minivan Stealth Camper
In the morning we’ll grab a coffee and get our tires checked at Mr Tire then head back to Golden Corral for our last huge meal.

What a Rip off
The desert you didn't know what is was Peach Cobbler. Recently there was a lady that spent 12 hours at a Golden Corral. She came at 8:30 in the morning and stayed until 8:30 at night. She never left the restaurant and she only paid for breakfast. None of the staff or managers said anything about her being there all day. It's nice you left and came back for each meal.
The same lady went to CiCis pizza and was told after a couple of hours to leave.

@@peepshowtube no. Literally just thick sliced toast. Usually with garlic butter. I don't like it much. Some people don't know how to properly do garlic bread.
It looked like an apple pie/pan cobbler on the right and bread pudding on the left? I've never seen peach cobbler with that color peach and drizzled in white lol
It’s their policy not to kick you out you can stay there all day till close they won’t bother you. But why would anyone wanna stay that long? Lol
Golden Corral is one of my favorite buffet restaurants. My usual go-to is their Bourbon Street Chicken, Fried Fish, Fried Chicken, Mashed Potatoes with Gravy, Stuffing with Gravy, etc. Delicious!

We love GC and honestly, you can't beat it for the value but their chicken is 100 percent on point, especially their fried chicken. Our location's chicken is consistently great! Tommy's favorite is the bourbon street chicken. It's so cool to watch GC videos from different locations because they do vary in terms of what they serve. Ours does a pepper, sausage and onion dish that is sooooo good. You also can't beat their salad bar. With inflation what it is today, there's really no where else you can get everything you want and all the fixings for a salad for under $20.
Their salad bar is awesome! I fill up on fried chicken, fried fish, okra, and a few other things, and then fill up a to-go box with a salad that probably costs around $20 due to weight but the whole family can enjoy it. Trying to balance my fats/proteins/carbs!
My favorite thing at Golden Corral is the door I couldn't get out of that place fast enough

The Meatloaf and mashed potatoes/gravy is fantastic. You gotta try the popcorn shrimp, mac and cheese, pizza, banana pudding and chocolate cake. BTW, senior discount in here Michigan is only $12.95 Monday-Thursday from 10am-4pm.

I love Golden Corral. It was a family favorite growing up and it still holds up. I especially enjoy their breakfast buffet.
The bourbon chicken is one of the items I like. I usually get the white rice and put the chicken all over it.
I honestly cannot eat enough food there to justify the price
We love the Golden Corral when we come over to Kissimmee Florida from the UK. They only do breakfast at weekends now since covid which is a shame but the evening buffet is great value and lots of choice. Love your channel 😊

The fact the dude at the register basically coerced you into tipping is a major putoff for me. And the fact you tipped $5 without even experiencing the server's service beforehand is just shocking. I usually wait till im done with my meal to determine how much im tipping the server. Canandians are built different lol.
I think most people are that way. They just tip because it’s the right thing to do
I have never understood that “it’s the right thing to do mentality” for some services. A tip is just that, a tip for over & above exceptional service. Maybe because I never received a tip in my 27 years in public safety. What did she bring you in a self-serv restaurant?

@@saintbyron5150 that's because majority of food service workers are paid low wages compared to those making livable wages in public safety positions. Some people just appreciate the work other's put in! You seem to not, and that is your right to feel however you want!
They ask because you pay before hand. If you want to tip with a card. Otherwise if you don't have cash you can't tip then

I’m from Rochester I left in 2002 with a job transfer in California. They had the buffet at Pizza Hut when I lived there. Golden corral was not there at the time. Here in the Central Valley in California we do not have a golden corral. I always have wanted to try them. I’ve heard good things about the buffet there.
Being from London Ontario I’ve had the golden coral a few times and hands down my favourite item was the pot roast and mashed potatoes
I love golden corral. I'm from the UK and always go there most days when visiting the states. Its nice to try different stuff! I love the southern fried chicken, and I always get some steak too.

I went to the golden coral on international drive a couple of months back there whilst on vacation,That bread pudding was effing awesome,I’m from Scotland,So eating something like this is like being in the twilight zone for me👍👍

I use to eat at Golden Corral 30 years ago here in Ohio, but over the years it went downhill, and I just stopped going there. Now most of them have closed. The food use to be good, now I have heard it's pretty bad. The location you were at looked nice, and the food actually looked delicious 😊
Same here.. my family used to go to one every other week, it was a highlight of our Saturday nights. Then it just kept going downhill. Food quality and cleanliness was heavily slipping. So we stopped going. They closed down about 10 years ago and never seen one since.
The one I live near in Ohio looks just like this one does inside and the food variety looks to be the same. Also, I like the food just like he did.
I love Golden Corral! A lot of people hate on it but it's pretty good. We used to take my papa there before he died so I have a lot of good memories there, my favorite thing is the bourbon chicken over rice..I could eat platefuls of that! They used to have more bread options and the cheddar biscuits were the best, I hate that they don't have them anymore!
I LOVE Golden Corral for the price you cannot go wrong .......Do not forget the beverages include milk, chocolate milk, juice and coffee its all inclusive and the steak off the grill is also great

The best time to go is on the weekend right before they start serving lunch . Eat breakfast and then lunch . Mini burgers are bomb!

Golden Corral is a favorite of mine. I used to pig out there on Fridays, for lunch. I thought the quality was pretty amazing, and now I want to go again!
I liked Golden Corral’s food. It wasn’t fantastic, but the variety more than made up for it. Unfortunately, the closest one to me closed a while back. For what they charged, it was far more of a treat than a regular place to eat.
I ACTUALLY LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH, the first thing you do is pay and then you can eat as much as you want.
There's been 5 guys in Glasgow, Scotland for a few years now... Never actually tried it myself but my mate has and rates it highly

I love their pot roast and the bread pudding! I also love the seafood salad and the huge salad bar. Their rolls are great too
You can get ice cream to go with the bread pudding. I like putting whipping cream on it too

Golden Corral is not a 5 star restaurant for sure but it is a low cost buffet with good quality food! Our local one has great meatloaf and real mashed potatoes like grandma made! They also have great brussel sprouts, sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole. I love it. My family does too. Better than a fast food burger joint.

That Golden Corral in Rochester, NY is about 25 years old. I remember seeing the building being constructed. I used to go to St Catherine's at least 6-7 times a year and Toronto 4 times in addition for NJ Devils vs Leafs' games. So, yeah, I saw the building built. Rochester has changed a bit. The highways looks the same.

Haven't been to GC since they closed the one in Bellingham, WA, donkey's years ago. But I do remember two things I never missed: The taco bar and the soft serve. Yum!

My fav guilty pleasure is Golden Corral, my order that I get is: first round: make chicken and beef nachos then one beef taco stuffs with all the fixings, second plate is fried chicken, Mac and cheese, steak fries, mashed potatoes and poultry gravy on them (also in a cup to dip the chicken) broccoli and cheese, hush puppies and fried fish with some lemon wedges, and a side salad, I usually don’t get deserts but if I do it’ll have to be the bread pudding and some ice cream can never go wrong with the bread pudding 🤤

Golden Corrals are a coin flip; some are great - tons of quality, well-made food; others, unfortunately, can be dreadful. I've experienced both. This one looks really good. Great video.

The Golden Corral I go to has been there at least 30 years. They have a soft serve ice cream machine and toppings bar that is my go to desert.
I love any buffet and Golden Corral is up there on the list. Sadly the one by me shut down during COVID and has never re-opened
There used to be a Golden Corral in my hometown of Vernon, Tx. Now the closest 1 is more than 65 miles in Lawton, Ok. The food is good when it was in Vernon and in Lawton. (Hint .. hint .. travel ideas for either you and Carol or Paul) have a good weekend everyone and good to hear your feeling better Zach.

@@bobbywong9392 that's very crazy, my dad and little sister worked at Long John silver before someone burned it down early 2020 right before everyone went into lockdown for covid, they was on their day off when they got to news that the building caught fire and they wouldn't be able to work there again. It sat for a couple years abandoned, but now it's rebuilt and back up in business and my father and sister got to get their job back like nothing ever happened.

I haven't been to a Golden Corral in years. I think a lot of them closed due to the pandemic. I know the one I went to also shut down and never reopened. Quality varied depending on the location, but the one I liked to go to was also pretty good and price was decent. Now all that's left if the usual Chinese buffets.
