I find just taking the stars into photoshop as a layer and then setting the blend mode to screen gives better looking results than adding them back in Pix with pixelmath.
Great image. Forgive my ignorance but why bother with any form of Colour Calibration, if later on we mess with the colours to give our own personal appearance? Am I missing a trick here?
I have 533MC with Rokinon 135. I must drizzle due to undersampling to avoid square shapes of smaller stars. I thought I noticed some square Star shapes in your data at first part of video, but it doesn’t seem distracting. I didn’t run the math yet for your setup. Am I imagining things? Great video I plan to get into PixInsight and follow your tutorial❤
You don't need to paste blue channel in a layer, use apply image etc. Just create the adjustment you want and click on shift and its mask to see the mask (initially white). Then just paste directly on the mask

Thanks Peter!
Fantastic tutorial as always! And the audio sounded clean and huge.
The Garnet Star looks nice and red too!❤
Insane timing Peter! Shot this last night too from my backyard with 183MC Pro and RedCat 51 on Celestron AVX . Can't wait to follow along!
Peter, nice video. I do quibble about flats. I frequently have dust specks, etc., and the flats calibrate them out.

I have same situation in our San Jose house. 😊 found 3 openings amongst trees and ours and neighbors properties that i have to sneak shots through 😊

That's a very good point! I've wondered myself.
