Its 10 stars in recreating the part I got to live, which was the music, HIV infections - the disgust from gay & straight people dying/living from it, working in a fashion house with frocks, Mitsubishi's yahoo, unfortunately night club events were some weekend & monthly events.
Netflix got real and showed it how it was. Fantastic!

One of the best shows I’ve seen, so different, once you see the first episode you can’t stop, there are so many teachings and deep scenes, you don’t need to be a trans or part of the lgbtq community to feel identified with everything that happens. I wish people would give this show the recognition it deserves!
Actually it did not make me identify with this story at all. I am a gay white male and my biggest issue with this whole story was that there was absolutely no white person with an important role - aside from the lesbian nurse. I don‘t care if movies or series have gay, lesbian, black or trans people in them BUT I do care if they are the ONLY characters that have significant roles.
We live in a society where movies have to have at least a certain percentage of black people in them but there is no such rule for white people. We fight for equality and yet don‘t include every human being in this equality. Kind of hypocritical.
I didn‘t like this series not because of the story or of the cast or even the races, genders and sexualities. I did not like it because of the Message „if you are black, female, gay or trans you deserve more than white, male and straight“. People should earn fame and respect for what they have achieved and not for just being born and having certain privileges. As a white person I have to fight for way more than non-white people and I live in a pretty non-racist country (we don‘t have much black people here though)

It's aaaaalways the white people being the "evil" people here so they can treated like actual shit in society. I personally feel it often times a week where I am being treated less because I am not a person of color - which is ALSO against white people. Basically Asians, Latinos, Blacks, Middle Eastern are called people of color and White people don't have a term for them other than "the others". Pretty sure that white people are the minority if you count EVERY OTHER RACE AGAINST THEM. But hey, white people evil so let's not focus on them at all. @@Enchantix00Sasori I’m black and I identify with white characters all the time. A lot of media I see has no people of color in the cast at all. So I don’t think it’s bad that it’s mainly a cast of minorities. There’s not many shows with a large cast of black and Hispanic people. Plus Stan was white and he was a pretty important character lol. And we mainly see the white gay perspective in movies and tv, so it’s interesting to me to see the black and Hispanic community have a chance to show their version of the culture. And also that is completely not the message of the show. The show ‘s message is that you can make anyone your family, family doesn’t have to be related, they can be people who take each other under their wing.
@Enchantix00Sasori The objective of the show was to have an anti-White narrative because of “evil White men” ruining everything and blah blah blah. This is an extremely black supremacist and slightly pro Hispanic show. The few White people in this show are merely used as props to push their narrative of supposed “White supremacy.” Despite the fact that the Harlem ball scene was specifically invented to exclude White people and they were extremely racist and hostile toward Whites or “White passing Hispanics,” not even wanting them to compete in the balls.
Wondering why this is listed as an "Evan Peters, Kate Mara series"...seems strange when they are secondary characters. Great actors, yes, and they bring a lot to the show, but why isn't it listed as "Mj Rodriguez and Billy Porter series", for example?

It's kinda smart to highlight Evan Peters, because it will bring in a lot of people who wouldn't have sought out the show otherwise. Might be able to give it the financial support needed for multiple seasons!

@Markus Patients Some men do not wear wedding rings or are in a common law marriages. Some people like to play with others without thinking about the consequences. Perhaps, I was also not as cautious when I was young and naive. But, now I am in my late 40s and see things very differently. I have also been single for seven years, because I want to be in an honest relationship. Only time will tell.
This is the FIRST TIME I could understand how they really live and their struggles. Excellent job!!

My partner and I are almost through the whole series and we are addicted. It's a perfect balance of "serious & sad" with "glamour & entertainment." After we finish an episode or two, I like to pull up an actor and read about them as well as watch an interview. It has been very moving and inspiring to learn how each one can relate personally to their character roles in Pose. Beautiful!!!
This serie is like a whole roler coaster of emotions. I love this serie and honestly i can't wait for Season 3! One of the best series in Netflix.
I loved this series, it tells me exactly my life, everything I went through, my difficulties, sadness, anguish, joy, ghetto, love and how I managed to be someone in life after so much battle, but always with good friends and people .. POSE SUCCESS EVER!

The parents dialogue in the very first episode made me sob like a low-cut punch in the stomach out of realness. Hit home and everywhere, I didn't know how much I needed it.

I just finished watching the first season and I loved it. The relationship between Elektra and Blanca is just lovely.
Just watched first two episodes back to back, which is no small feat as the running times are pretty long. But it sucked me in and now this amazing show owns my soul. Essential viewing from the creators of AHS.

Would have loved a scene where Mr. Ford and his new toy to show up at Indochine and nobody other than Miss Elektra greeting them as their hostess. The writers missed a good opportunity. Still 5 stars 2 thumbs and an untuck!
This is an amazing show! It has everything and is everything so much realness it's off the scale! the casting is on point there isn't one person that stands out or one that you just cant stand it all works seamlessly. LOVE IT !

I must say, that thise Series, remindes me how House, Vogue and all the Scene became big over the beginnig of the 90's in Germany/Hamburg. . . We discoered all this way to late, and it is interesting to see what ist was back then, regardless if it is portraining it perfectly or only fictionary and 50/50 of how it REALY was in New York and elswhere. . . Season 1 & 2 got me deep and i remembered a lot of back then how we all started to Vogue and learn the Styles . . . it is sooo emotional. that i am allways ready to sob . . . they play all good, and all the music is a memory of back then. . . the Music on this trailer is NOT portraying what the show is all about, and you have to ignore the Trailer Music ;-D

I really wished I watched this show when it first came out, but by the time I decided to watch and want to catch up with it literally the show just ended that week I decided to want to watch it, I have more motivation to watch and catch up with a show when it is on going/still airing cause I have so many shows to catch up with so it’s just easier for for me to watch on going shows more than completed shows, I’ll eventually get to watching this show some day cause I’m so interested in it
