The axles in i9 hubs flex slightly when load is applied to the pedals, allowing extremely fast engagement but sacraficing long term durability. This is completely intended and not a "faulty design" but honestly I don't rebuilding hubs all the time is worth if for super fast engagement.

The bearings in Dt Dwiss hubs get hammered in... There's no difference between hammering and pressing as long as you don't hammer it when it's already seated. Id hammer it in and stop before it's seated. That way you can get the right preload when the wheel is mounted in the frame. Also the weird sound is probably due to the grease. When the little pawls get to much grease in between body and pawl it can prevent the pawl from moving all the way and therefore your not using the whole surface of it and it's easier to slip. Take a little grease put and you're good. Also get some DT swiss hubs if you dont feel like maintaining every week. Steer clear of the American stuff.@@OperatorMittens

I9 at least admitted the issue and took steps to fix it. People are also now able to buy parts and fix their hubs. Compare that to the decade long issue that shimano had with their faulty cranks. It's up to you to choose which companies you support, but expecting a company to get every product perfect is not realistic.
From the comments it seems that you want to avoid them because they didn't offer a replacement part for free even though it is a design fault. That's fair but you didn't make that point clear in the video which is probably why many people are commenting on it.
It's still awesome to see a youtuber criticise a brand. Helps to hold them accountable.

I have 2 hydras, neither of which have issues. The “problem” with them lies with either e-bikes or people that can put out absurd amounts or torque from their legs, almost a gym rat turned mtb rider. The flex in the hub is what allows for the amount of engagements that they have so as long as you’re not riding an ebike or you’re not outputting ebike power you’ll be fine
