- It's Wifey Wednesday! Time to do some work on the Renault/VW Beetle project. In this round, I customize the 1954 Renault body to fit on the Beetle floorpan. Lots of cutting and butchering to make it work!

Dit is een heel leuk project, kan niet wachten op een nieuwe video.
what a great job chunk at a time just like a mouse eating a elephant I like your tactics making a complete new floor will easy and look nicer when finished thanks for showing us how to do the job right
That's me, the little mouse...😀
It seemed so easy from afar that the body would fit on the VW suspension and tube assembly easily. Once attempter though the truth is exposed and nothing is ever as easy as we hope, but from what I've seen this will not be a problem for you my man!
I also thought it would be easy! Not so.😅
very cool the more you cut the better it looks, fender flairs could put over the top! ROD ON DIFF
Hi My Friend Very Good Job ❤❤❤❤❤

Thanks brother!
@@ratrodsafrica no worries mate. 👌
With everything going on in this world your videos are great therapy you have amazing ideas insight i never thought i would change my perspective going from growing up working on Ford V8 cars here in Australia to seeing creative ingenious work Gods given you a talent your dear wife knows this too Laka Laka
Thanks brother!
Lots of butchery, but it's only sheet metal. Good luck Diff!
It's looking great love to watch you chop it up
Fantastic job Diff
looking good Cuz
This is a complicated bit of geometry and butchery. You’ll need some more chair time, with a coffee or a beer, to finalize the math. 😛 I love this project and can’t wait to see your engineering come to life. 😊👍👍
Thank you my brother! Appreciate the support
Great job Diffy.
I love your drive to do the absolute best work you can !! It's very inspiring.
Thank you so much!
Hey buddy, I'm digging this build so far. So cool.

That's gonna be a sweet little ride
Hi Diff, awesome, man you pull mammoth effect on this body fit. can't wait for next vid. Cheers
Thanks 👍
Widen the fenders is what I think wouldn't just make it look right but look really good too.
Persistence!............Respect!
Thanks brother. That's the key word! 🙂
Diff, You NEVER fail to not only entertain, but teach your skills to your viewing fans.
I am enjoying every single thing you do and love the explanations of your actions.
Thank you for displaying your talent and knowledge.
Keep on keeping on.................. love what you do.
From somewhere in the middle of Montana USA.
Thanks brother somewhere in the middle of Montana😀
good job like always 👍💪
Looks good now that the parts are engaged - not married yet. You could split the rear fenders and weld in a strip to widen them, but not sure how to keep the "original" look with the front fenders. Thanks Div, now I'm back to work in my one man shop in the Australian countryside.
Yeah, widening the front fenders will open a huge can of worms! I will discuss it in Friday's video 🙂
It's coming together very well, looking like a bit more work than expected, 😂 but it should look like a beautiful bug 😊 thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, have a Lekka one
A lot more work than expected 😅
Awesome job. It is coming along
Love watching :O)
In Diff we believe....great work brother....greetings from Texas
Thanks!
Thanks Div!🍺
Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺 Thanks for sharing your project with us! I love how you show step by step the reasons for what you do. All the best for the new year to you and your family:)
Thanks mate. All the best that side too
I sure am enjoying the process of this new Wifey project !! Thanks for sharing the experience …
Thanks! More to come!
Hey Diff just remember brother that as light as that car is the wider the tires are the less pounds per square inch of car weight is providing traction for steering and braking. Had a friend who put nice rims and wider tires on his beetle and sharp steering at speed had the car going straight with the wheel turned and skidding badly on hard stops. He wouldn't drive at all in the rain. Those fenders are lovely and you might think about splitting them high about the wheel arch and pulling them out and then fabricating metal to fill in the opening so as to keep the overall fender shape just widened to cover the tires.
Lots and lots and lots of cutting
The master fabricator at work.
Hack and slash! How fantastic we know the cars in good hands..
We have faith that you will sort it Dif. 👍
We love the journey which can be challenging from our arm chair 😁
Thanks. I will have to put my faith in the welder and grinder😅
Good progress
salut de France👋 je suit cette vidéo avec beaucoup de plaisir . ici en France on n a pas le droit de modifier les automobile comme chez vous 👍👍👍👍👍
Excellent builder for sure 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Can't wait for this
I personally was digging the off road look 😅
Excellent work
Many thanks
Now this is turning out to be an epic marriage😉
@15:22 I got myself an old stofsuier dedicated for exactly this. I liked it so much that i got a small cordless one for the workbench / other small areas too. My place is very dusty, so you have to sweep, even if you didnt make it dirty.
Highly recommend it.
Smaller cars do not mean smaller projects. They are not easier to work with, there's a lot of intricate shapes and less room, less clearance and much more thinking. Like a woodworker making Russian dolls. Thanks for sharing the process with us.
That is true!😅
Interesting build Diff.
Looking forward to seeing why 👍🏻👍🏻
Attention everyone.
Duff, provides an excellent example of how to play in your sandbox.
No need for fancy. Play in the box you got, or build a bigger box.
Low tech, all respect!
More fun in the smaller boxes!😁
That looks awesome bro...As you know I love the surgery...but I have to say, you brave boet....CUT CUT CUT...eISH. Looking forward to the front suspension fab...Thank you for sharing.
Luckily I have a welding machine! 😅
Lookin good!
I want to say thank you for being one of the nicest car builders on the internet. You have inspired me to . Go find my dream car and build it . Here in Australia my dream car is a td ford cortina 4 door . I don’t suppose there are wrecking yards there there have old cars in them im happy to ship to Australia. Or any ford cortina’s around in paddocks near you . Thankyou again . You are a true hot rod builder
Makes me feel good to hear that! Lots of Cortinas available in SA. Send me an email to ratrods4africa@gmail.com.
It's good to get into the floor and seeing what you got. You got the tools and knowledge anyway to get the job done. I like the ceiling crane. Great for when you work alone. I wish that was my car your working on. As long as your wife doesn't show up at my door with a shotgun. Lol. She will be going to town with a big smile on her face in the Renaultbug. Can't wait to see that
I'd be lost without my ceiling crane🙂
Looking goo Deuf
THAT is an awesome little car! I love this series! I get very inspired by you and I'll be following your lead while I work on restoring my '71 Super Beetle. Thanks, from one of your sisters (it's not just brothers who love you) in the US! Cheers, from The Old Bat!
How nice to hear from a sister! 🥰 Makes me feel good to hear I provide some inspiration. Good luck with your project!
hey hermano que buena musica !!
The car is coming along nicely 👍👍
Vai ficar top😮😮🎉
Hey Div,
The Marriage looks to be happening nicely !
In the comparison of your reconstructive surgery versus the other guy, I much prefer your plan due to the simplicity.
I was glad to hear you say you are going to widen your stock wheels.
I have done that several times on different projects, it's not that hard to do.
Also i wanted deep dish wheels on my first truck so I reversed the stock wheels.
I just knocked out the twelve rivets, turned the centers around and welded them back in.
The Renobug is going to be well liked by other car enthusiast.
Take Care
Yes man, back in the day we did stuff like that without thinking twice about it. Now they make out like it's rocket science 😅
Great work
Thanks!
Good project. Thanks for sharing!
Ay Diff, I just wanted to let you know I love the music you play while you’re working.
Thanks!
Sounds like a cal bug where the camber is so radical you can't turn a corner. Can't wait to see this one but I do have a good idea. Take care Div.
Not radical, I like to build cars that is practical too. Gotta drive them!😀
You work hard. Labour of love. Thanks for sharing.
Love is hard?😂
Always keeping the Faith, my Brother. This one is a challenge, but you'll kick it's ass and make a hell of a ride out of her. . . Much Luv 💪🏼
Thanks for the vote of confidence!
Always my brother. . . Have a lakka one !
I found your channel a couple of months back, I like what you're doing. Cheers from France.
Thank you! Welcome to my shop!
Great stuff Boet. Can't wait to see how this turns out.
Shout out from Durbs.
Lekka Durbs!😎
Wow a lot of cutting! It's going to look awesome wide and low!
Looking forward to seeing what you do Diff. Your are in deep on this one.
So deep I might drown... 😂
looking forward to seeing the end result . matt ireland. great work.
Cool (laka) stuff! Always look forward to your videos.
Thanks for sharing my friend. Great job! I’m hanging on the edge of my seat on this build. I’m real curious how you get this to all work. I know you will. I got faith in you. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks you so much again! Appreciate brother.
