- When you hike up a volcano to a toxic blue lake, blue flames, and acidic smoke and steam coming out of an intensely blue lake in East Java, Indonesia...at sunrise, and wonder if you've actually being transported to another PLANET!!
Here's our experience hiking up Ijen Crater near Banyuwangi at sunrise without a guide, how we got there, where we stayed near Ijen Crater and of course where is next in our Indonesia travel adventures!

Banyuwangi have a lot of interesting places,, try to visit pulau MERAH (which is there is gold miner in the island, and the view so stunning!!), Visit de jawatan in banyuwangi so instagrammable for take picture, and a lot more in Banyuwangi... Hope u guys enjoy for the trip.. 🙂

It's interesting that some foreigner described the night in Ijen as particulary cold, while some just wear freaking t-shirts (and actually sweating) while hiking. Absolutely diverse people from around the world.
I have been to Java, there is a lot of beautiful nature in the west and east of the island. And there are luxury places in Jakarta

I went to ijen crater in 2020. did you see the bluefire? at 6 or 7 o'clock we cannot enjoy its beauty, because the flames will be doused and it is time for the miners to take sulfurs...

I have a recommendation for a place. it is in Central Java, Wonosobo district, where the name is Dieng. There is a hill called Sikunir, and it is a place to see the best sunrise on the Asian continent. in Dieng there are also many good tourist objects

The volcano at 07:35 is mount Raung. Had you came 3-4 months earlier, you would have seen the volcano erupting
