you're welcome, I see lots of comments about how bad these are when it comes to dust getting in and I just shake my head, we should always choose a filter that suits conditions ... interestingly are years of using these things in the right conditions I've never found dust in my air intake. Cheers
yep, there are different systems being used, I don't know that much about it but do know that some report higher HP than others. Seems misleading if you ask me
2.5HP gain only because you should have done a new fuel map. I replaced the K&N filter on my B-King and after I put the PO8 in there I had to add 11% fuel for the otherwise same configuration.
cheers mate, totally agree with you ... if the airflow is changed then the bike needs to be configured to suit. This was simply a measure of the difference between OEM and the P08.
@@TheBikeStig Better flowing air filter only gonna help if the air box itself is not restrictive tho. If it is then its no matter which filter is being used. A pressure drop test at WOT should be done to see. Could the RR have this problem? After I modified mine to breath right even the K&N showed up as the choke point. Had to have the P08 to get the airflow right. Just info for the commenters what to look for when it comes to intakes and filters.
Hi Sir, I bought and installed P08 one in my 2018 Z900rs. Once unpacked, I immediately noticed the “see through” fabric and when I read instructions,, despite they claim its filtering capacities are better than stock one, I found out that “windows” between threads goes from 35 to 87 microns. I think that atmospheric dust contain is made of way to thinner particles, for a good part. I use my bike mainly on mountain corky roads and sometimes through the town...and I’m afraid it can wear my engine. What’s your opinion about it? Thank you
Yep, that's the only issue you'll be confronted with. I personally have no issues at all using the P08, have been running one on track and street on the BMW for some 10,000ks now. But obviously, if you are going to be confronted with dusty conditions you're going to get some dust through the filter, even SprintFilter will tell you that. I avoid the dusty conditions as much as possible, and have checked the filter to clean it every 1,000 ks and have not noticed any dust collection inside the filter box between the filter and engine so am happy to continue using it. I don't believe it is better than the stock one from a filtering perspective, it is way better from an airflow perspective though. Hope that helps mate.
I'm doing the same thing, I' m trying to avoid dirty roads. What I don't agree with some of this product reviewers is that they show the intake manifold beyond the filter, saying it's perfectly clean. I think that bigger particles are stopped and thin dust goes straight headed to the combustion chamber and (at that air speed) does not stick easily to manifolds pipes walls. Luckily or unluckily it's a long term damage. Furthermore, for a road use, gaining one or two HP out of 100 and more, we're taking about nothings and it's not worth . I bought it in order to get rid of "non scientific" oiling procedures, ant to save some money washing and reuse it. I think I'm going to switch back to a paper one, better if dry type. Thank you anyway for your kind reply.
@@solino2002andrea no worries mate, you are probably right with what you said about fine dust getting in, I think thats the trade off though I have always wondered if that fine dust is not actually an issue and it simply gets burnt in the combustion process. Have never had a bike long enough to find out. Stay upright mate
If you are getting 164 then I think you need to get the ECU looked at. That sounds like the US restricted ecu settings. The fact you tested in multiple dyno's on different days and still saw thT 2+ increase impressed me.
@@TheBikeStig check with the British tuners what they see. I know that the us bikes need breaking because of emissions stuff and on the H2 it would require a new British spec immobiliser and key to simply do an ecu swap so you HAVE to hack and flash it to get it running.
No mate, Sprint Filter have information about that already. Some information is here sprintfilter.com.au/sprint-filter-catalog and there's some information about a lab test that was conducted here sprintfilter.com.au/independent-lab-test/ . Hope that helps.
Depends on your planned use, if you intend doing some track work my understanding is you go for the P08F1-85 which has more flow. P08 is more suited to road use with a bit less flow. that's how I think about it anyway.
The “no oiling needed” had me sold
haha, me too. Just make sure you don't go using this in dusty conditions as it wasn't made for that.
Have it installed on my S1000XR , Love it
that's awesome, they're a great product by all accounts so far
Thanks for the video.
I'm getting a Sprint filter P08 for my 2018 Yamaha MT-09.
2.5 horsepower gain.👍🏍😎

Are they safe on Filtering dirt I ve read some filters let dirt through
Very informative and made me buy one..thank you. Brilliant
cheers mate, as long as they're used in conditions they were intended for can't go too far wrong with these.
Is there really that much diffrence between two different dynos??? Surly not 40hp in the diffrence??

Great air filter !
I agree, as long as we use them the environment they were meant to be used. Cheers
Were you using the standard P08 or the P08F1-85?
This was with the standard P08, we are going to run the P08F1-85 very soon, had a little trouble getting one
@@TheBikeStig Awesome! Goes to show you don't need the F1-85 to make more power. :D
the P08 is it safe with long road use?
Grisha jz I recommend you go to the Sprint Filter website and get their advice on the right filter to use mate 👍
Absolutely not. It is not a filter. Does nothing. You might as well run without the filter.
Where do you purchase them from?
I got mine from Sprint Filter Australia - sprintfilter.com.au - they should be easy to get online
In the US , Bricks performance carries the Sprint filters . Amazon carries the P08 .
Brocks Performance carries both Sprint filters .
My new face mask 😷!
haha, that would work
2.5 bhp....that's to bike with pc5 and performance exhaust.... bog std bike won't give results.. full stop
I don't have any data to argue either way mate, I appreciate your thoughts
