Clear gesso could help you a lot if you don’t want to paint over your backgrounds. I learned about it while watching the MaremisSmallArt channel. Great product if you also would like to use aquarel paint to pop up some colours

Meg, thank you! What is the journal/book with the flowers that you are cutting out a flower from at the beginning of the video? Is that something you made, purchased, or found? It looks cool!
Diary of an Edwardian lady I think!
Fude no suke! I have 筆タッチ ("Brush Up!" Fude touch sign-pen by Pentel), and this pen writing touch we feel like between 'sign pen' and 'brush pen'. That nib has a super short brush tip, like a felt tip pen. Is Fude-no-suke like a Chinese or Japanese Calligraphy brush?
Oooh I’m not sure I haven’t used a Pentel one! You do get a lot more control with this one even with the softer tip. There’s a hard tip version too that is more like a “regular” felt tip pen.
What kind of glue are you used
