I'm strange, I Really enjoyed watching you deconstruct all the bags. lol I've used bags, (and the handles) in projects for different things but Never thought of making a journal out of them! Oh my gosh, I have a cat who is part Norwegian Forest Cat (rescue), aka the fluffiest beast on the planet, and her downy fur gets EVERYWHERE in my crafty nonsense. It drives me crazy but you're right, I should just embrace it because someday she'll be gone and I'll probably be glad to have the reminder. ❤

I am really intrigued by a large fun journal. And I love all the color and variety in your journals. Mine tend to be vintage inspired and I forget that what we get today is ephemera also!

Great job on These James . I love them. Paper bags I love so much. In Aussie there are more of them now as plastic throw away shopping bags are kind of not allowed now. Paper bags are not allowed in the bin here. 😊😊😊 I use EVERYTHING , Even the paper handles. 😂😂. TFS Your inspiration.

All your cat hair comments ring true for me; it is the art supply that is always in abundance. Thank you for sharing your process, I enjoyed your video and now feel inspired to try creating a larger size journal than what I typically create!
What will also save your thumb is using an awl to pierce the pages first. Nonetheless you did a fabulous job. I never measure and just always wing it.
I have the Japanese screw punch but I was lazy and gave up hahaha.
Hi James, Wow, I'm impressed! You are the first guy I've seen in the field of junk journaling, and you've created something that I've always envisioned. I'm a beginner junk journaler from Sri Lanka and made a junk journal last month using just food packaging, but it didn't turn out as beautifully as I hoped. I would love to see if you could create one entirely from food packaging.
So many great ideas, James!!! Printing your photos on label paper, using those perforated slips from the edges of your pay checks as a sensory element…brilliant! I had so much fun watching your video. ❤❤❤

I finally got my Jumbo Junk Journal done, because of you. I will see if I can post it. I have put some Gelli print bray offs in it, but I have not started gluing anything down yet. Thank you for being so brave.😉

Love this! I love making upcycled “trash” journals too! 🤩 I just looked through your Amazon recommendations but I couldn’t find the awl you used. I have a regular one but yours looked like it was spring loaded. May I ask what it’s called or the brand? Thanks!

I think it was originally a Scotch advanced tape runner? But they don’t sell that one anymore, I think they’re private labeled now?
