- So @thatbluedc2 stuffed a J32 V6 from a cushy Acura CL Type-S into an Integra with a questionable history full of drag racing, nitrous, and general Honda abuse. Of course @thegoldendrive and I had to find out if it was any good. Enjoy.

Man oh man! This teggy was part of our crew for the longest time. It was owned by my buddies uncle who got it from a dude that use to street race. It got impounded and sat on the farm for years while we beat the crap out of it. After a couple years our buddy Ilia bought it from another buddy and brought it back to life, but then sold it to I think its current owner.
The car was boosted and all prior to the farm days, but that was all pulled and caused it to run like shit. Crazy this thing is still around! Same faded rear type r seats and front leathers! Even the faded carbon hood and orginal rims! I remember driving it around Colebrook roads back in the day!
“I don’t feel any torque-steer!”
-guy not driving the car
You can still feel it not driving??
@@Sprier
No, you can't because your hands aren't on the wheel.
@@ruthnoya8424 if a fwd car is losing traction and pulling to the left or right or both I most definitely can feel that in the passenger seat 😂
If you're in a car drifting do you feel it sliding 💀
Add a nice slim hood scoop to cover the motor up but love the car
J Civics and Teggys are just. A blast.
Great to know I'm about to swap my stuff over from my tl over to my old hatch
I was a huge K guy believing k was the way and it belonged in everything. Having built/owned an awd turbo rsx and awd turbo k crx…and now owning a j em1..I now understand the hype of the j.
If the k series like the j series was 3.0 to 4.0 liters it would be like a motor from heaven
@@enhancementtank5876 would be should be..lol. Still a great motor and I will still build them, but I understand the J. Honestly for booster applications the k is great but NA the j is good
K is definitely the way my man
@@itsjussjerryK24/K20 combo can make as much NA as the J and the install is more straightforward. Aftermarket support is several levels up too.
@@chaseteterthe j series also sits really low on swaps and does t really work as a street car
That dudes laugh is awesome!
Been saying it since I discovered the J series almost 15 years ago: J SWAP THE WORLD! 😎
Shhhhh. I like that not many people know the capabilities of the J engines.
If I remember correctly, the J is a 60 degree v-6 and the C (Acura Legend and NSX) is a 90 degree v-6.
The J32 heads are awesome and the narrower V and less bulky heads allow it to fit into so many places that a DOHC engine can't. Makes the same power at least as well.
Some versions are 300+ hp
The 1st Gen Legend and 5th Gen Accord 2.7L V6s share the same block as the NSX.
the legends also.
Man I had a couple j30 accord coupes with 6spd manuals. To this day they’re one of my favorite cars to have owned. Lol they legitimately sounded good they pulled away harder than I ever expected them too and they were honestly fun. That engine in a way lighter chassis 🤤
what year if you dont mind me asking?
@@jadehegler64892003-2007. 2006 and 2007 Honda also made the sedan with a 6-spd.
I have a buddy with a super charger cl it's sick
I been told people that the J-Series is a beast engine! Anyone who has never drove a TL does not know! Put a supercharger in the J series and it rips
Man I got a buddy that put a j series v6 from a Acura TL type S and slapped a turbo on it and dropped it into a EG civic sedan on BBS LM's along with tons of other mods
PJ's customs is the shit!! He'll make anything u need! Made me custom pigtails from scratch
Man said the cl weighed 3800 pounds. IT AINT THAT BIG OF A BOAT
36 and change
@@Firen81 3400lbs kid
Right
Nice project car, hope it will get a fresh paint job soon. These 90's cars need some love 😉
Nice build 😎🔥
I like the new Guy.... he's so happy and full of life 🎉
I had a 2012 hfp accord with a j35 six speed one of the most fun cars I ever owned
I had a 97 integra 5spd, I would have loved to do this.
I know Elvis from his early 370z diy videos
Oh no way! Yeah he's a veteran for sure. Glad we met after I saw his ridiculous Datsun haha
that thing need a true cold air vtec will sound nuts!
plenty of after market support people are lazy to look😂 my 2003 cl 6 speed came with a comptech supercharged etc from acura how can you say thats not cool lol
Had. Can you get that supercharger new?
@@Firen81 i still have it on the car LOL and if you know anything about hondas/acuras youd know comptech usa is dicontuned
@@joeygutierrez2657 exactly. It's discontinued. Most coilovers gone. No aero exists anymore for them. Face it. It's all old parts on the market now.
@@Firen81 again a person who knows nothing. if you anything about 2nd gen tl/cl they share suspension with 6th gen accord which suspenion is still being produced☠️ i have kw coils on my 03 tl and i have custom jic magic on my cls6. and p2r is the leading company for j series but you wouldnt know
@@joeygutierrez2657brooo I need a new suspension for my tl can you throw out some recommendations
Wonder if that motor would fit under the hood of a Prelude better. The last version of the Prelude should have came OEM with this or similar, imo. It would have sold better in NA. It would have essentially been a sportier option to the V6 Accord coupe. You could get a Trans Am or Camero back then with a V8 for not much money. Not many people wanted a 2.2L Vtec fwd sports car. Nowadays....
It does fit 🎉
Sick build, have you guys gotten a Vi?
Nope thank god
Jswap is very under rated! And they're great engines, with tons of potential! Great value for the money
few j swapped s2ks. they should've come that way as an option TBH there is so much room in the engine bay.
The nsx came with a j30c DOHC 24 valve
I miss my accord v6 manual coupe. It was a really fun car.
Aaaaah J-series, my beloved
7:55 The thing is, its actually only a tiny bit heavier than a K series swap. Vtec Academy weighed a couple j series and k series side by side. You would think it would be a lot heavier bit it really isnt. Gotta figure, one has a timing chain, one a belt, they both have only 2 cams.. both 5/6 speed ect. You can get an intake manifold for them that is magnesium and flows better (or as good as the 3.5 and 3.7) That saves an additional 7 lbs and gains 7-10hp.
14:45 something like that, depending on whats attached ect..
Makes me miss my J swap . Mines still down
cl is not 3800lbs 😂😂 my cls6 is 3400 stock
Honestly, my only argument would be that a hood cutout for a regular old V6 doesnt line up.
How long have they been using the J? A lot of people love those motors. Theyre cheap and you can open up the intake and cam duration a lot to make great power with the drawback being having to go standalone to go above 300hp or so. If youre already dealing with a roller, its not a bad option and luckily there is a little more support for the motor now.
I dont agree they are cheap and finding the 6 speed transmission is difficult as well
Just subscribed
something different👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Btw cl type s do not weight 3800lbs i don't know where he got his info from lol
Honda guys know you can build a sweet manual CL easily. There's plenty of aftermarket J series parts available.
Bro just goes hard it’s like 60 more pounds over a k swap
Better put a 3.8 mivec engine. On that
I love te 96 integra
Now i invite you to drive a Modified Jswap in a Del Sol! with a Rotrex supercharger and alot of boltons, very streetable in my opinion untill you get on the throttle!!
Is the ecu OEM or AEM?
OEM
K24 still. Bore and stroke it for torque. If price isnt a barrier of course.
the CL type S is a good looking car, esp lowered on some tight wheels.. and if you get a 6spd it's quite delightful!
but this is also the opinion of a person with a lavender DC2 with the hood cut and some questionable corners cut.. car is a turd
What trans tho? As far as I know. J to J is the only way this works. Which limits you to hard to find manual j transmissions.
Idk any other trans options. Anyone else use another non j option?
Inline pro j to k adapter is an option
Lol that car needs a tune 😁
CL weighs 3800 if you weigh over 300😂
3:37 vtec always cracks @5500 rpm
Ive driven multiple vtec vehicles
And non vtec to know 😅
For real though, is the J series that much fun?
November 22, I got a j37 sh awd tl with the manual, also having a modded Mazdaspeed6 the stock j37 absolutely blew me away. I haven't ever driven a swapped car but the hype of wheel spin and the pleasing intake/exhaust notes I think the hype is real for these lighter cars. The TL just too heavy in the long run
The J32 in my old TL-S would hit very high notes when you revved it out. That is a car that liked to rev almost as much as my GSR which just blew my mind because it was big and comfortable in comparison. Those fantastic cars were cursed by their feeble transmissions, otherwise they would still be everywhere.
The NSX engine was 90 degree more common to performance and luxury while the j series was 60 degrees common among consumer products and appliances
That's just not true. 90 degree is the common default amongst all V engines, 6, 8, 10, 12. Narrow-banked angle V engines were more common with exotics. Honda Js did it for packaging and weight.
Love the vid but ppl need to stop calling every 3rd gen integra dc2.
I want to build a j sp bad
There is no reason the civic, integra, rsx and tlx should not have a J series. I feel like Honda never goes hard enough. The Acoord, Prelude, Legend/TL could have/should have been beasts in their own right.
Still hoping to one day J32 swap my NA6 Miata 🤤
Do it! J miatas are epic!
J is the way
32k views nice
Can’t take this seriously with a massive hole just cut into the hood.
It's either that or no hood at all. I suppose a hood scoop could work but easier to just cut 😆
Honda boys figure out how to make a Probe GT
And it runs even better
@@bwadsworth87 I mean yeah... after an engine swap lol.
@@pgtmr2713 Pretty sure a base model integra would outpreform any probe. They sure have retained their value better than a rebadged mistisubishi.
@@nobodynoone2500 A Probe GT would have no trouble with a base model Integra. And they're Mazda based. Mitsubishis are the ones that have the blue smoke behind them.
@@nobodynoone2500
The Probe GT V6 manual would beat stock Integra GS-R's in acceleration through the quarter.
Cool, my dodge neon would destroy this piece of sheet of a car all day.
No hate whatsoever here. But man hearing a black dude with a Canadian accent is blowing my mind lol
Dude doesnt wanna pay a proper paint and respray shop…but why…
The lights turning on and off randomly mean the wires need attention….
Not critical of your build, please do it.
Looks like it's more of a beater. Someone in the comments said they know the car and it used to be a farm car that got beat to hell and back. Not sure how true it is though.
MAKE J SWAPS GREAT AGAIN!!!
