Fun fact: they were going to bring back the volcano in the renovation of the Mrs. Knott’s Chicken dinner on the outside portion, but the plans got scraped and they went for a more modern renovation for the chicken dinner. The original concept art showed many other hidden nods to past attractions as well, it’s in their Knott’s Preserved: 100th Anniversary Edition book that you can buy in the park!

Whew! I'm worn out with that quick walk to Knott's Berry Tales!! That was so much fun! I can't believe after moving to So Cal 9 years ago that I've never visited Knott's Berry Farm. The pie only is worth it but the park does look like so much fun. Thanks for sharing your day!

I remember the Sky Jump! My parents took my brother and I to the US in 1990 and 1992 and that was one of my favourite rides. Was due to return to the US in 2020 and now crossing my fingers for a return in 2022, once international travel resumes for Australia x

We were a team working on it (we were working for the Triotech Company in Montreal) and for my part I worked on the animated concept in the dark ride, the interactive film with which you shoot to target the pies, I also worked on a lot of poster and item that there is at the entrance of the dark ride, where you make the queue, the genealogical tree, the wanted poster also found in the teeshirt, and even the footprint on the ground: ) it's really great to see all this, because of the covid we couldn't go there, we only got pictures, and it's much better to see it in real with people having fun in it :) we were a big team to work on this park, besides the concept artists there were many 3D artists who modeled and animated everything, as well as engineers who designed the technology in the gun, not to mention all the people who remotely and on site had to do the staging and do things in real, with the covid it was a real challenge :) thanks to you guys ! Rides like men in black, buzz and toy story make this worthy to join the group. Lol looked like so much fun, thanks for taking us along! Knotts was one of my first theme parks along with DL. I remember panning for gold. Lol
The Whacky Soap Box Racer, in my opinion, was one of the best rides there. It was so fun ride that we used to go on it several times in a row. You could lean into every turn and it felt like it made a difference that you could possible win. Expedition Theme Park did a video on it as well as the Haunted Shack. I'm sorry I missed you guys there but I was only able to go for a couple of hours. I'm glad you had fun. Great Video!

You’re right Peter, there was just one pie thief character in the original ride. I love the retro merch, but I’m a little surprised they don’t have the Motorcycle Chase instead of the Soapbox Racers. I suppose the Soapbox version of the ride is more well known. But the motorcycles were a bit more exciting (and dangerous) because you rode on top of them rather than safely inside a “box”. Both fun though.

I have rode the OG *Bear-y Tales, The Soap Box Debry, went to The Haunted Shack;* that was in 1985. Surprised they did not include the *Kingdom of the Dinosaurs* in the shop because that replaced Bear-y Tales. I rode that one, too. That was the last time I was at KBF. BTW back in the day; Mrs. Knott's Fried Chicken Dinner was one of the best places to eat. I want to go back to DL, KBF, and US; it has been forever going to those parks. But through your eyes I can be there in spirit. Thank you.
I have been on the Wacky Soap Box Racers and it was awesome! I have been on the Parachute Jump and it was terrifying! I have been in the Haunted Shack and it was mysterious! I have been on the original Knott’s Beary Tales and it was classic! And I have seen the volcano and heard it’s roar! Fantastic memories! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
The original ride was designed by old Rolly Crump of Disney fame...that is another reason it was so good and so odd... I still have one of the Beary-Tales books they used to sell in the park back in the day... Flapper Beary , because that whole area of the park used to be The Roaring 20s I miss the original , but at least this new version is a step in the right direction for Knotts...also The Wacky Soap Box Racers was an AMAZING ride! People used to get all competitive and try to beat the other cars...

Calico Ghost Town (out in the desert) had the same Haunted Shack that was at Knott’s; I think they were owned by the same people back in the 80s and 90s.
If you guys go on this ride a bunch you should keep your own leaderboard and scores so we can see how you improve the more you go on it through the year! Maybe make it a competition between you two and other youtubers you run into at the park can have guest scores.

The parachute ride is literally one of the scariest rides I’ve ever been on I thought I was gonna die, granted I was like 5 years old lol. The volcano used to be where ghost rider is now and the haunted shack was pretty cool

Yep, if anyone asks me what my mission smelled like in the great long beach california mission, it was knott's boysenberry jam. I lived across the street from knotts for 9 months, so half my mission... it always smelled like boysenberries. If I Ever had a bad day I had knotts in the background cheering me up since I love roller coasters and theme/amusement parks (who wouldn't be happy being around that honestly) especially when someone was particularly rude to us or it was 118 Degrees F with 80% humidity all day long and we had no scheduled appointments.Those are some long days..... We always avoided the main streets near knotts since people were there to have fun.... not so much to listen to a couple of missionaries, but every now and again someone would stop us to chat for a second which was nice if we were ever nearby. I worried that it would leave a bad impression on visitors to the park when they got back home and met missionaries in their hometown area after even seeing us while on their tip to knotts. People can be pretty critical and mean about anything or anyone having to do with religion, even if all we do is provide service to people in the community and not say a single word about God or church. My time in california for the most part was amazing thanks to the people being great in the area and everyone I met. Shout out to the buena park ward!
Wow! That is a lot of merchandise! I agree, the pie is a sharing size...or one person with a sweet tooth, and eyes bigger than their stomach. My mom: Oh, this too big for just me. 10min later...Did I just eat all of this?!? I think I’m going to be sick. BTW I really love the fast zoom into the park at the beginning.
I agree with Kitra's need for every single spirit jersey :) I love spirit jerseys but live in the cold WI so I wear them even in the summer on chilly nights

@Ordinary Adventures Flapper Berry is named after that era of Knotts back in the day when the original ride was there....THE ROARING 20's....A Flapper was the name of a Womens movement in the 20s where girls of that era were liberating themselves from the more Victorian era principals of the time. The style of dress they wore was also called a FLAPPER.

Yep, if anyone asks me what my mission smelled like in the great long beach california mission, it was knott's boysenberry jam. I lived across the street from knotts for 9 months, so half my mission... it always smelled like boysenberries.
If I Ever had a bad day I had knotts in the background cheering me up since I love roller coasters and theme/amusement parks (who wouldn't be happy being around that honestly) especially when someone was particularly rude to us or it was 118 Degrees F with 80% humidity all day long and we had no scheduled appointments.Those are some long days.....
We always avoided the main streets near knotts since people were there to have fun.... not so much to listen to a couple of missionaries, but every now and again someone would stop us to chat for a second which was nice if we were ever nearby.
I worried that it would leave a bad impression on visitors to the park when they got back home and met missionaries in their hometown area after even seeing us while on their tip to knotts.
People can be pretty critical and mean about anything or anyone having to do with religion, even if all we do is provide service to people in the community and not say a single word about God or church. My time in california for the most part was amazing thanks to the people being great in the area and everyone I met. Shout out to the buena park ward!

@Ordinary Adventures Flapper Berry is named after that era of Knotts back in the day when the original ride was there....THE ROARING 20's....A Flapper was the name of a Womens movement in the 20s where girls of that era were liberating themselves from the more Victorian era principals of the time. The style of dress they wore was also called a FLAPPER.
We are aware of what a flapper is but just wasn’t sure why one of the bears was named that, thanks for the info
