    Personally, I believe that if you believe you are a human, than you are. If you possess the mental and rational capabilities to not only understand what a human is but to also have the desire to be one, then you possess the basic abilities to be what we define as human. If a machine has genuine consciousness and the yearning to be a human, then I believe it is one already

Like everything is control by a megacorp, every move we do small or big has advertisements everywhere, medical service is available for the rich also everything is done by subscription (looking at you mercedes/bmw). I think altruism has a value in survival, humans live in groups and live togethr nd interact, an in communities, supporting each oth , and relationships are good, for survival and cooperation.
    While capitalism tan hyperindicvidualism tries its best to destroy that, humans still want and need that. So it its not counter means of survival. Just society has some twisted tuff enforced. An we stillhav mutual aid popular.
    So hy help each other isnt counter anything survival, it just was mad complicate by capitalism and individualism and that contest and artificial scarcity. But its still very much seen as human. So ther is hope?!

    I think that the reason why most people are in poverty in Cyberpunk world is not exactly on point. In that world, AI replaced most of the "high skill" jobs. Why hire an engineer when you can have a machine design a house for you? Why manage a company when you can have an AI do a better work for you? Why pay for a mechanical engineer when an AI can do all of that work for you instantly while following all of the standards?
    You've seen that part where David Martinez is at corporate school, the teacher was an AI. There's no need to hire teachers in that world any more when an AI can offer private support for all of that students at the same time. Adapting to each student needs.
    Same thing can be seen in Cyberpunk 2077 game. There is a taxi company called Delamain that is fully managed by an AI. The creators of the AI passed away a long time ago. And all of the work and customer service is automated by it.
    The Cyberpunk world is not like that because it requires too much work to keep up. It is like that because there's very little work to do in that economy. There's no need for researchers, teachers, engineers, lawyiers, scientists any more. So the remaining jobs are doing basic services like selling wares at the streets. Working as a soldier, police officer. Making better use of the guns that are so easy to access everywhere. Being a ripperdoc... or just be addicted to brain dances, drugs, sex, or any other addiction to make those people feel something.
    Someone could say that is the result of capitalism. I would say that there isn't even capitalism in that world any more. Capitalism is about workers and companies competing to improve even further. But in that world there is simply no need for workers any more. The corporations in that world are so powerful that their only worry is in the military concept. They fight for territory not with trade, but with guns.

    • @ProfessorViral
      @ProfessorViral  Год назад +1

      If that was true, we'd be seeing a massive economic drop off in our own world due to automation. Automation and does not remove jobs, because the automation itself becomes a job. People need to make the machines, design the machines, and assemble the machines. Entire schools pop up around tech degrees for a reason. Many factories still use human workers for things like wiring, because machines can't use the critical thinking necessary to do so. The fear of tech replacement generally ignores the new aspects created by it. Look at netrunners. Why isn't an AI doing that job? Because it either can't, or they dont want it to. Human work is still in fill force and very much needed, just in a different way.
      The lower levels of society may be avoided in this, forming their own small economies which function independently, where they work small jobs. However, that is the same issue, as to succeed they would have to enter a field which requires an excessive amount of work and training. At the end of the day, Cyberpunk is a world founded on class, which is enforced through capital means, the exhaustion of workers for profit

    • @rumplstiltztinkerstein
      @rumplstiltztinkerstein Год назад

      @@ProfessorViral That's a good point.
      You mentioned "Look at netrunners. Why isn't AI doing that job?" AI is doing that job. So much that it managed to crash the entire internet a few decades before the year 2077. There were so many destructive AI viruses running in the internet that any device that was connected to it would be immediately infected and destroyed.
      The net started to return because the corporates created a quarantine network managed by a massive firewall AI. The firewall is constantly being attacked by viruzes from the "old net". The AI viruzes are always replicating and adapting. So the firewall AI is as well.
      Netrunners undergo intensive training to avoid being killed by the AIs roaming in the network.
      The voodoo boys gang are constantly trying to break through the firewall to the old web so the corporates are crushed by the old net.
      You are right for saying that there will be new jobs. But it will always be less jobs than before. Corporates manage to keep their empire running with a surprisingly small workforce. They use the extra cash to hire military divisions to crush any competition in the market.

  • @astalidiot8559
    @astalidiot8559 Год назад

    You ask what it means to be human, from my perspective, both everything and nothing. I say this bullshit phrase due to the lack of any direct pattern. I have met people who claim that humans are inherently good. I would then point out the wars, rape, and torture committed by humanity. Then i have met others who claim that man is inherently evil, I then show them examples of humans working together and going out of our way to save random animals with that we have little to no relation. Humans are not purely anarchists, we have reason going beyond just having children. Neither are we completely controlled, as seen in how large an industry things like strip clubs and pornography are, we are still beasts. Ultimately, every human is there thoughts and actions. What we think is who we are and what we do is how we think of others. There is no true answer.
    I fully admit that as an atheist with an absurdist philosophy and lite anarchist views, I'm not exactly the best model of a person. I believe that humans are better than we are given credit for, fear is what drives us beyond anything else. If you wish to understand humans, you must understand the fear of death. Even those who no longer concisely fear their own death still fear it in one way or another. I also acknowledge that, while undiagnosed, I probably have some pretty severe self-esteem issues of my own creation. To absurdists, the idea of consciously choosing to live is heroic. I would argue that while life is meaningless, nothingness is even more so. I live on only because I am amazed at the idea of something. As far as we know, nothing should exist, there was no birthplace, nor anything like it, and yet something is here. Why choose death? During that thought, Carl Sagan's quote popped into my head. "We are a way for the universe to know itself." Regardless of my outlook on life, I am a part of the universe, and everything I hate about life, the stress, the pressure, the hatred (both directed against, coming from and around me), the attack on free will by those in power and this need to justify everything (from the mundanely pointless to the reprehensible), the world is still the world. I don't really care for a reason, there is not investment in the finances, and it tends just to bum me out, I just care. But it is still the world in which I live. Saying that it is unsalvageable and pointless would be just as, if not more pointless than trying to change it. I know I never can, nor never should (like I said, anarchist) change anything, but the very fact it exists makes it have some validity.
    Anyway, that's my stupid rant, feel free to tell me to fuck off.

    I dont usually comment twice, and sorry to bring real world stuff into this, but the cyberpunk edgerunners section, held a lot of similarities to the black community as a black person myself, I see a lot of pain in the community but your explanation on how cyberpunk world works and the causality of it all, made it sound very similar to the systems that African Americans try to resist, then I realized it's more than just racist white old people, but its more of a system of socialization and systematic manipulation if that made sense, of course responsibilities should be held on us as well, but we know the effects of the community but what is the cause of the community that it is now, and why does it continue?

    • @ProfessorViral

      No problem at all, all of these topics are heavily related to real world issues. My analysis of Cyberpunk seems so similar there because I've tried my best to learn from and listen to the stories and experiences of POC, who most regularly experince the systems of oppression exaggerated in these sorts of stories. When our social structures are properly contextualuzed, we see that they are self serving, feeding back into themselves through oppression most notably. For many people this is just viewed as every day life, so I try to restate these ideas so often to break that complacency that forces so many to keep suffering
