Up Next: 3000 km Downrange - ruclips.net/video/SJ_-9iyBi9g/видео.htmlsi=bh_wlJe7_iO75bD- Correction: At 23:40 I state that AVAILABLETHRUSTAT(1.0) returns thrust when throttle is full. That is incorrect. It's thrust at sea level. The parameter is a number between 0 and 1, where one is sea level and 0 is vacuum. Better would have been just AVAILABLETHRUST, which is the vacuum thrust.

Great video. Thanks. You're not completely wrong since availableThrust always assumes that throttle is full. By the way, instead of 1.0 in availableThrustAt, you could use dynamicPressure (even if it's not really necessary here because your purpose is to wait until availablethrust = 0).
@ I'm bad for getting it good enough and then carrying on creating legacy code that haunts. Using the loop to wait until an altitude instead of a simple WAIT UNTIL is an example. That's there because I used to have an abort trigger in the loop in case of engine failure.
at 13:00 I'm not sure if you noticed but the upgrades to the XLR11 are pump-fed which means you can switch from pressured tanks to unpressured ones, saving on weight and giving a significant boost to your plane at the cost of having to rebuild it
I live and die by MechJeb info -- there are a ton of little windows you can bring up -- ascent info, landing info, surface info, etc. E.g. telling you your vertical/horizontal speed and your downrange distance, which is critical for the downrange contracts. I look there for my pitch, to make sure my ascent profile is right. And those windows have Ap/Pe. All the good stuff.
MechJeb Autostage works perfectly for me in terms of simple launch clamp engine spool-up (I just use the basic clamps that come with RP-1 and I don't have KOS). I only stopped using MJ AS when I was trying to get a 2nd stage ullage engine to work.
Hey Mike, Thank you for another awesome video! love this series. I believe the rotation while warping is coming from the better time warp mod, Iv had issues with persistent rotation mod as well so was quite happy to see that feature available elsewhere. Hope it helps in current/future games!
@hizisfoo yes, I am sorry, I did not explain myself enough, I meant if he wanted to go orbital, because most early engines do not have multiple ignitions.
This probably isn't related to the video but I needed some help if you don't mind. How would I launch my plane and then swap over to fly something else at the launchpad while my plane is in the air? It keeps saying I have to revert to previous save so I can't have both in the air at the same time.

I love these videos!!
Glad you're enjoying them.
Mechjeb has a mode for ro, it is calle primal vector guidence(PVG), you can change it in the bottom.
Thanks. I'll look for it.
It's for the orbital stuff. For suborbital launches, classic is the way to go.
@@hizisfoo Good to know.

As far as I know, you can't have two crafts in the air at the same time.
@@MikeAben aw that sucks. Alright thank you for your time. 👍
Exposing your fruit flies sounds horribly dirty.
Maybe next time use more sanitary insects like bees.
