As a thank you for getting this video to 10k views (my first ever to do so!!!) I reacted to my Episode Story I wrote from 2018...ruclips.net/video/8UKZq3EscGo/видео.htmlsi=gVywUgtBzBLz6nly thank you so much for watching
One negative thing I remember is a lot of the fanmade stories were CRAZY in terms of toxic tropes. It was basically Wattpad for mobile visual novels. I still remember some of the more traumatizing ones 💀
YES! As a young teen, I got super into one where you work for a mafia boss and then start dating, and I remember it being SO TOXIC. There was another I liked where you're a college student with a tutor you fall for, also toxic. Episode was truly the wild west of visual novels
I literally remember reading one about a girl who started dating and married a basketball player and getting r worded by his evil ass teammate while she was PREGNANT and getting an std! 😭😭 like wtf
So disappointed that episode went the way they did. It’s become a smutridden paywall hellscape.. when it started there were cool mystery stories! When I played it as a teenager there was a mystery “stranded on an island” story, and I remember one that went on for ages that started with you on some kind of dating show but then you end up with your own reality tv show. Others where you and your friends are witches, just lots of really fun stories that had a complete chokehold on my early teens.
it's all about finding the hidden gems! Not so hidden, but "the ruby tiara" in ink style is one of if not the best story on the whole app in my opinion! The official stories are pretty awful now but the community comes up with some great stuff ❤️
omg I remember the stranded on an island one. the main character you play as was the villain all along I think? beatrice or something. I think the name was hunted
same ! it has a special place in my heart because it’s the story that made me realize that i’m bi (because it allowed players to choose the genders pf the love interests)
Same 🥲 The Originals that I read with the classic art style that were mostly mystery-based were SO GOOD. It's such a shame that as the app and art style evolved, they never chose to continue the storyline for these old classic stories :(
ink style is THAT girl, its the funniest and most nostalgic one. i feel like comedy ink stories were actually funny compared to limelight stories and i really miss ink stories and just episode itself but it sad that its not as popular as it was cause all my fav authors have disappeared with unfinished stories
i remember playing some actually great stories made by independent creators on the app when i was younger. zombie apocalypse stories, fantasy, stuff like that 😭 i always thought the excessive amount of mafia stories or “dark romance” was ridiculous and whenever a story had gem choices i would immediately stop playing lmao
@@lotsoflovetoyou omg i know which one you mean. It was one of my absolute favorites. I loved how my choices could actually kill/save certain characters. It's a shame that she never released the last episode, i've never found an equally good zombie apocalypse story.
@@lotsoflovetoyou Yep! I even tried Episode's paid version and it was so bad. That kind of story is just not fit for gem choices, especially if your choices can save lives. And the 18th episode if i remember correctly was just a black screen with speech bubbles and they found a ship or something and sailed away. So underwhelming. Idk if they changed it by now but jeez, way to ruin a story.
I can’t remember if it was this or Choices, but one time I was playing a story and the options were something like “go right or go left” so I picked left, the character goes left and was like “huh, there’s nothing here, let’s go back.” That was when I stopped playing because what was the point of giving me options if there was only one choice to begin with
In the menu to write your own story, they actually recommended to implement "fake choices" because it would require writing a lot more scenes and it would be much more complex to implement actual choices, and while it's true, I remember a ghost story (Jake and I, or something like that), that had only two choices and four chapters, but the choices actually impacted the ending
I've seen stories like that! It kind of reminds me of the gem stories and how if you don't have like, twenty five gems or whatever, you have to wear a towel or the outfit your MC is already wearing.
There was this story where a teacher got pregnant by her student (don't ask), and there where two choices for the ending : who does she end up with (the student, the rich childhood friend and another one I forgot about) and does she keep the baby. When the sequel came, the heroine has a grownup child and a rich husband, and even though the author tried to justify it, it was hilariously obvious that there was one intended ending for the previous story and the author didn't want to admit it was a sequel only to that ending
@@martinamasala5158 for real, it was so crazy for NO reason. It goes from gacha life hated child/baby's first isekai to "I refuse to be trapped in the same cycle of bitter complacency and I am going to kill a man"
I remember even as a teen, most of the stories would turn: 'MC is pregnant' which I HATED. I think I mainly read comedies. When I downloaded it again after a while, I couldn't log in for the life of me.. I think I still can't figure it out? I ended up only reading EarlGreyTea and Alusza and some community stories. (I am still such a sucker for cliche romance, I blame Episode for this)
Classic style was the first time I ever played Episode… in elementary school on my Kindle 😭. There was this mystery story I was OBSESSED with and every morning before school, I’d quickly play through a chapter.
The crazy thing about the writer who used the N-word is that there is an alternate title to that Agatha Christie book that doesn't have the N-word in it; it's called "And Then There Were None". She could've just used the alternate title, everyone knows it if you've read Agatha Christie's books, she just wanted to say the N-word and get away with it.
AND in then there were none the poem was edited to say 10 little soldier boys, even more egregious of that author she really just wanted to say the n word 😂
As a tumblr user, I would absolutely remember every once in a while that episode would be on the trending page, and that’s how I found out about its existence but never really thought too much about it. But this video? Wow I learned a lot! I genuinely had no clue big creators like Demi Lovato collaborated with the app. More the you know I guess!
I remember this thriller story about this adopted girl who was a replacement for this couple who lost their daughter but she was kept alive in a vat in the basement and the adopted girl was like a sacrifice? 😭
oh my god ive been trying to remember what the "Blake" story was for years lmaoo i was so obsessed w it. that and basically every story by mette peleikis, especially femme fatale
I have such a soft spot for blake! I went back and read the first few chapters and it's definitely super dated and poorly written but the story is there and it's super nostalgic for me 😭💞
I will never put toxic love interests in my stories. Every love interest will be truly dedicated and loving to the main character. That’s how an Episode love interest should be.
I HATE LIMELIGHT! I’m coming out to say it. The new art style sucks. I love the paper look. It’s a game and it doesn’t need to look realistic!!! 😭 also infamous was one of my favorite stories! I just redownloaded episode because of this video and it’s saved in my favorites but I want it back.
my favourite as a kid was one where the mc was the babysitter of appox. 12 kids, and you fall in love w the oldest kid you babysit. i even remember writing fanfiction and drawing fanart for it. i replayed it COUNTLESS times haha, id love to find it again. this was wonderful to watch :)
I LOVED ADRENALINE 😭😭😭 one of the most amazing ink stories! creators were able to manipulate ink coding more i feel, and adrenaline was proof of that. you totally unlocked a happy memory out of my brain! episode was there for me when i was extremely depressed in 2016-2017 🖤 they transported me into a different world, almost like a book
OMG fun fact: When I was like 12 I saw a youtuber playing episodes (which got me interested in the game) and they were playing the Pretty Little Liars story and I kid you not I thought the story was MADE BY EPISODE I was legit so shocked when I found out it was a real tv show when I found it on Netflux and started binge watching but then I got bored and skipped to the finale episode which made me so confused that I just outright dropped it 💀 Learning from this that it wasn't just a fan remaking PLL in Episode but that it was an actual collaboration and that it's still there is crazy to me, guess you learn something new every day
I remember I began playing episode in 2013 when it first released! It only had two stories and it was so much different than it is now, it felt much more calmer and the content seemed like it has some actual effort put into it
The new girl , Shaw brothers , complicated, chain reaction and Blake had me and my friends in a CHOKE HOLD when I was in middle school ( I had no business reading those) but omg hearing about them brings back memories
@@water4112 I would read all of them again if I could but I can’t remember my old episode info and I don’t want to read their paid story’s to get to the community ones 😞
Omg I completely forgot about the original arstyle! I got over my episode obsession a little before limelight was introduced so sadly I never got to see all that drama so thanks for this iceberg! (I'd also love to see you react to your old Episode story)
Even though now I don’t play it, I had a lot of fun playing it. There was one story where you got to become a pop star and it really helped me when my great grandmother died. All the community stories were my jam, especially the good horror ones. I also loved the pretty little liars one and I’d never seen the show
i love playing episode sometimes but it’s been so hard to find good stories lately because it’s all just “mafia boss literally treats me terribly but it’s okay because i fall in love with him” like I seriously cannot find well written stories anymore 😭 also holy cow faking death was literally one of my favorites i got jumpscared when that popped on the screen
also i hate episode originals i literally only play community stories because i refuse to pay for anything and also I find the originals mostly terrible lmao
giiiirl this made me redownlod the app and delve into my saved saves and BOY that one wincy story "ruby tiara“ (or something like that) had me in a CHOKEHOLD! i remember playing during breaks in high school peak 2015-2016 and booooooy it took up so much of my time
Wish I could play Path To Fame like it was the first time.(Especially since I had a modded version of the game so I had unlimited gems. 🤫) I actually replayed Galactic Games a few moths ago and it's SAUR GOOD. The writer has other fun stories too.
40:12 I'm not sure of this at all, but I think it's a story named Never Too Late. I never read it but I once thought it looked cute and added to my reading list, but I checked the profile of the author and it said "I'm gone. A friend may post the end of Never Too Late", meaning that she sadly probably passed away. Hope she rests in peace ❤️
There should be a story where you play as like the love interest who's finding out he's in a game after meeting the main character (Bonus points if the mc keeps making weird decisions to show them not having gems)
Not exactly this but Romantic Killer is an anime where the MC's life is essentially turned into a dating sim and she resists it with everything she has
omggg i have so many memories of trying to use that code editor 😭 ill never forget there was this honestly AMAZING story about a zombie apocolypse that had so many different endings and people could die or turn against you it was like a telltale game
The girl who had people campaign so the app would get her story back, and then got mad at the community for her story being removed in the first place.... Like girl, you won. Take the win.
I’ve been playing this game since it got created and i remember when it only had like two stories and now I’m a full grown adult still playing it. I was obsessed with the Demi lavato era
The new netflix games based on their reality shows like Too Hot to Handle is KINDA like Episode, and you don't need to pay real money for good choices (bc you're already paying for netflix)
12:25 omg blake was the first community story i ever read too and i was way too young😭 all my friends at the time were obsessed with wattpad while i was obsessed with episode… makes sense looking back; one was just interactive & animated😭
i remember getting ads for episode on EVERY app ever in middle school. i always thought it was so cringe until i ended up installing it out of curiosity, and i was so mad that none of the insane scenarios were real. i felt cheated out of my over dramatic soap opera dreams :’( great video!! and also you’re sooo pretty!!
I read that weird incest story on wattpad and at the first they don't even tell that it's an incest it's about the also being her bosses and i was literally traumatised 💀 when i understood the plot but am not even sure if its the same author from episode
my favorite ad was the cat sitting on the toilet seat and the girl needing to pee then saying “i need to pee but can’t move the cat” and the options were either peeing yourself or peeing in your boyfriends open mouth
i never knew how badly i need this video until now omfg? (also a confession as an episode veteran who still plays til this day: i never read chained reaction 😭)
God its been a hot minute since I thought about Episode. I use to pull all-nighters to play the game back in highschool. Then when I had a little bit of money I blew through it for gems. I honestly can't remember the last time I played it. I remember playing with the first two art styles. For me it started with Episode. Then I delved into wattpad.
An Episode story I remember reading is Meet You At Home. It was rather sad. It started with this woman in a therapist's office, finally talking about something that happened when she was a teenager, which we then flashback to. Basically, the MC lived with her parents and her brother and had this awesome friend group, including a best friend and a guy she had a crush on. It was basically just this normal story about teens just living their lives, until the night of a school dance (maybe prom?). Anyway, the MC, her brother, and friends ended up going to the beach and there's a tragic accident there that kills the brother. The MC and her parents end up leaving and moving away, because it is too hard to heal. They come back years later for a funeral and the MC has to deal with the people she left behind, how they feel about her leaving and being back, and secrets that she never knew, while also dealing with the trauma of losing her brother the way she did. This story was written in both Ink and in Limelight. It really made me cry, genuinely.
I remember this story! Absolute masterpiece. I loved how the story actually makes you attached to MC's brother, and makes it super heart breaking once he dies. I feel like not many stories do a good job at that. Usually they kill off someone you see for the first 5 minutes, then they cry at a funeral and then never talk about it again. This story constantly mentioned the death of her brother, which felt so realistic. Then there was the ending [spoilers]. I never thought an episode story would make me feel so much for an MC, but i just felt so sad when she finally had everything - the boy she liked, her own house, kids, and then you find out she has cancer. I know the author said the ending is up to us, so technically we could pretend like they found some magic cure and she lived, but i think it's pretty obvious that the intended ending was for her to pass away.
@@havidikevidi Yeah, they spent some time letting you get to know the MC's brother, showing his relationship with his sister. We see him in flashbacks through the MC's best friend's eyes. As you said, this wasn't a story where the death and the character was never talked about again. What happened to him kind of affected the MC's entire life from the moment it occurred. The ending was extremely sad! Things were going well for her and as you said, she had everything, this good life she deserved, even if she still missed her brother. It wasn't fair, but it felt realistic. Yeah, especially with her making the recording to her kids.
@@Heather_Duke Exactly. It was so well written i could feel the emotions the MC was going through like i was in her shoes. I'm not gonna lie, it may sound ridiculous as it's just a story with fictional characters, but after i finished reading it i couldn't get it out of my head for days. I kept thinking how it's unfair that after everything she went through she didn't even get to properly live her life and that her parents now have to live with the ''guilt'' of outliving their own two kids. But whenever i can't get some story out of my head, it means it was just that good and impactful. It kinda felt like watching a realistic movie, not reading a story on a kids app. And also as sad as it was, i must say i kind of prefer sad endings, because they make me think about the story more often. They're just more impactful and memorable. I've read countless of happy ending stories on episode and i've never thought of any other this much after finishing it. (btw sorry for the long comments haha i just don't have anyone to talk about episode stories with so now i yap alot)
@@havidikevidi The author really made you empathize with the character and relate to her and what she was going through. You're so right about the parents. They really lost both of their kids (or well, lost one and are losing the other one) and they couldn't have prevented it. The brother died doing something he'd done millions of times. The MC got an illness. That's not ridiculous. It was such a good story. It felt realistic with how the characters behaved, even with things not ending up with this happily ever after. It felt real. Even when the main character left and the reason she chose to leave. Which, I enjoyed that her lawyer had experienced something similar and mentioned what had worked for her.
@@Heather_Duke I'm not gonna lie, while most of the things felt realistic, i was sometimes really frustrated with MC and Nolan (i think that was his name?) Like i fully understood wanting to move out, but when he wanted to leave with her, i kind of didn't see why she would keep pushing him away. If he wanted to make that choice, then why not? It's not like she was forcing him to leave with her. A lot of stories kind of suffer with lack of communication, tons of misunderstandings between MC and LI or one of them pushing the other away for no reason. And i do kinda wish it wasn't so regular in episode stories. I think MC didn't even say goodbye to Nolan because she "couldn't face him", which again could be realistic, but the other person has feelings too and deserves to say goodbye to their loved one. But other than that i obviously absolutely loved the story.
I still play this game to this day! There's a User Created Story about game show called Bisexual Bachelors (ettes) where your character gets chosen by the show creators but at the end there was a Literal Villian of the series in both seasons 1 & 2!
The whole journey with episode for me started with high school story and Hollywood u and I never was particularly fond of episode but I loved choices and have this like pattern of revisiting it maybe once a year or every other year. I remember playing all the voltage inc games as a kid which was this dating sim company and other dating sims so it was always for the outfits and romance for me and I’ve always enjoyed the art of choices better
i remember when i was like 13 downloading episode and just spending 90% of the time trying to customise the guys in the stories to look hot only to uninstall it after like 10 mins...and now watching this has me wanting to do the same exact thing HAHA🤭 also your voice is sooo nice to listen to and ur laugh is so cute !! can defo see myself falling asleep to your vids
This was such a good vid, but the entire time I was waiting to see if you’d mention enslaved (had me in a CHOKEHOLD). I lost hope and got disappointed you didn’t and the way I JUMPED SEEING THE THUMBNAIL FOR IT 😭😭😭😭 i was so excited just because it was the most I ever played episode so it was what i remembered most so thank you for mentioning it even briefly
Tbh I'm still not over my Episode phase, I log into the app every once in a while and find some really good stories. Reddit threads also help you to find good, meaningful stories that don't feel like a waste of time. Some of my favorites are anything from authors like Spiegel, JJ Lore, Ji, Marshmellow O., Khrema to name a few. Spiegel's Thick as Thieves is now a book series and one of my favorite pieces I've read in general.
I had no idea episode had such expansive lore thats crazy. Id love to see you make a part two, lore about somewhat niche topics is always a great listen
adrenaline and infamous were my favorites for so long and watching them get deleted made me so sad 😭 I still play but this unlocked so much lore I forgot about, pls do a part 2!!
CHAIN REACTION!! OH MY GOSH the memories! Also I LOVED Blake! I actually had the freaking marriage screenshotted to my phone for a while XD WHYYY it's rather hilarious though looking back
I remember 12 yr old me was obsessed with episode!!! There was this story I used to read where like you were kidnapped by this doll collector and it was like a psychological thriller/horror. Never finished it because it got too scary for 12 yr old me but the plot was like lowkey good!
I used to love the reality show one where if you eliminated you had to restart the chapter. It was the only story where I felt like my choices truly mattered. Thank you for the throwback! I completely forgot about the new girl, chain reaction, complicated etc.
As far as collaborations go I distinctively remember a clueless story too. I have no idea what it was about but I remember Cher holding a phone on the thumbnail recreating the iconic movie poster. I started replaying episode last year and I was so heartbroken to see my fav childhood stories removed or unfinished and the way the app is working nowadays truly dissapointed me. I remember around 2016 when I started playing episode for the first time that the officials stories weren’t that bad and always had depth with 20+ chapters which gave you the chance to really connect with the characters. The gem choices didn’t actually stop you from enjoying the experience the way they do now which has made them unplayable and they were way more fun and mature. Now it feels like they have dumbed them down too much to attract more children. Thank god for community stories
Read episode a lot when I was in middle school and some in high school, that was a pretty good era with the ink characters and the stories, they use to be a lot more explicit and more deep but I like the new ones as well but not as much though 😢.now I’m close to graduating college and I’m going back now to read my favorites and hopefully read new stories that are good, idk if I’ll ever like the limelight over the ink style but I have read some good stories in that style and it’s growing on me. I read so much when I was younger, it’s cool seeing more people interested in this.
FINALLY SOMEONE DID A DEEPDIVE ON EPISODE. i’ve been waiting for someone to do this for so long. thank you so much! i have a lot to say. despite how notorious this app is, i think there is a lot about the app that’s also really niche. 11:08 i was never a fan of the “chain reaction” series or the author behind it. i found the writing, even as a teenager, to be weak and stereotypical at times. i understand why it got the legacy it did though. 13:14 i screamed when i saw you mention “galactic game.” it’s such an iconic story and i remember being there when chapter updates were being made. lucas, who is the name of the author, created some fun and wacky stories! 16:04 when i heard that title, i knew what this was gonna be about. oh god. i remember the justifiable controversy that story brought. 28:15 i haven’t been active in the community for a while, but this meme seems so hilarious. 30:29 i never read “bad boy’s girl,” but i was shocked to see that it was removed.
Stop, no, cuz you literally unlocked so many memories for me😭. Chain reaction was IT omg it was literally my life years ago. Like everyone else on here, I feel so seen by this nostalgic period of my life. I truly hope Ms.MJ is ok, she really doesn’t know how insane, as a kid, I was for her stories. Thank you so much for making this video, WE FEEL HEARDDD👏❤❤❤☺️
episode was my gateway into these types of games, I then started playing Choices and I still do to this day!! effort is actually put into most of their stories!!
The Animal Crossing gameplay is so chill... I love it. Also, beautiful hour and landscape. Btw the place for your house is pretty cool, mine is closer to the urban center of the town.
I clicked on the video and thought “wow I loved playing episode when I was a teenager. why did I ever stop?” and the answer was already the tip of the iceberg: the gems! 😂😂 I couldn’t handle it anymore but I remember playing the demi one, mean girls one, the influencers brothers one even tho I didn’t know who they were and some mystery story that had a lighthouse.
oh my GOD. INFAMOUS. that story was my suicide squad. like i remember watching it and thinking ‘this movie reminds me of infamous’ i redownloaded episode a few weeks ago and when i did the required viewing of official stories before you can explore (horrible btw, was this always a thing?) they are so bland. and i thought i chose the least toxic one based on the summary but the first episode proved me wrong. i got into episode from a wattpad story that originated from episode that at ELEVEN i should not have been reading but the ink style was so funny that any toxicity that tried to be normal i completely dismissed as ridiculous. by the time limelight came out i was only reading comedy and i thought the new models were so bland that i gradually ended up not reading anything
part 2 yes pls this was so fascinating. knowing all the things i missed out on in my short fleeting episode era. miss you demi v-v also when the app didnt register me purchasing some dress or smth so i literally paid for the thing twice ToT. thats my episode trauma, it was a lot of money for preteen :c
I think the main charm (imo) this video has is that it feels like a stranger just blurted out something from the past and it feels so cool to have someone remember something I remember (and even add more lore over it). I'm nearing my 30s and I feel like my childhood/teenhood is this forgotten campy realm coz it feels like most of the internet is filled with (I'm apparently technically GenZ too, so I mean younger) GenZ/Alpha, so I'm just used to people online being confused or weirded out that "that was a thing". Man that makes me feel old.... I also had a story in the works back in Ink days, but as a teen I overcomplicated each character from the get go that the webbing of the storylines just overwhelmed me to finish, and looking back I was way too extra and ridiculous with high pickme energy. I wanted it to be "different" so bad and start a story trend that even I couldn't understand what the heck I was making😂 Who knows? Maybe I would've ended up on this list too (but not for good reason hahaha). Also, I'm happy to have found your channel through this video, your vid is not too condensed/short but not at all boring to listen to while having breakfast hahah I do wish it was 3 hours hahhah coz now I'm impatient for an update hahaha New sub ⊹⋛⋋( ● ́⌓`●)⋌⋚⊹
Hey I’m sorry to comment but I want to tell you about Ivy as I was there when it was all going down (as well some other stuff with episode too… you can say I’ve been a veteran as I’ve been around since maybe 2016) From what I heard from few people back then, Ivy was only released in Australia and isn’t on the App/Google Play anymore and only few others accessed it. I remember one of the people accessed shown one of the stories… with a pony riding animation using to… well, you can use your imagination there and was very descriptive on that scene. 😂

Yeah 14 year old me had a wild week
I literally remember reading one about a girl who started dating and married a basketball player and getting r worded by his evil ass teammate while she was PREGNANT and getting an std! 😭😭 like wtf
I tried to make one but it took too much effort for little (tween) me.
So disappointed that episode went the way they did. It’s become a smutridden paywall hellscape.. when it started there were cool mystery stories! When I played it as a teenager there was a mystery “stranded on an island” story, and I remember one that went on for ages that started with you on some kind of dating show but then you end up with your own reality tv show. it's all about finding the hidden gems! Not so hidden, but "the ruby tiara" in ink style is one of if not the best story on the whole app in my opinion! The official stories are pretty awful now but the community comes up with some great stuff ❤️
@@flurrymoonThis is my favourite story!! I’ve read it so many times!! Moonlight feathers is also a good one from the same author.
I remember there being this gigantic story about a princess discovering she's from another world and it gave diamonds for every episode you played😭
Yesss I remembered playing the reality show story on an island, it was in the OG style and I remember being so gagged by the ending
omg I remember the stranded on an island one. the main character you play as was the villain all along I think? beatrice or something. I think the name was hunted
I played the Demi Lovato stories like crack for a minute there 😂
I was so into them and then tried the mean girls ones and it didn't hit the same.

it starts with a bra was also actually from wattpad. The actual wattpad book is called 'A bad boy stole my bra' and its published as a real book now
OMG UR RIGHT TY
I remember that one from when I played this briefly my freshman year of college!
Omg! Congrats to the author 🎉 Always fun to see someone's weird self indulgent story to get published
I remember playing that ahhhh😭😭😭
same with bad boy’s girl (different name on wattpad) it was on wattpad and now is published and getting a movie
this is my joker
IM DEAD
Literally this, I need a snider cut that's 5 hours long about this silly little game
Omg, the old art style hit me with so much nostalgia 😭😭😭
I really loved the classic art style, so disappointed when I came back to see the old one gone and the huge paywall 😭
Same :(
Which one are we talking about because I remember the OG art style that was mid when it comes to women but the men were AWFUL copy-paste of each other
Same 🥲 The Originals that I read with the classic art style that were mostly mystery-based were SO GOOD. It's such a shame that as the app and art style evolved, they never chose to continue the storyline for these old classic stories :(
YESSS😭😭
"no I dont recall any episode stories"
"chain reaction, Blake, the teacher, it starts with a bra"
*Instant flashback*
HAHAHA
I assume those were repressed for a reason.
ink style is THAT girl, its the funniest and most nostalgic one. i feel like comedy ink stories were actually funny compared to limelight stories and i really miss ink stories and just episode itself but it sad that its not as popular as it was cause all my fav authors have disappeared with unfinished stories
a lot of people refuse to read ink stories nowadays no matter how good they are and that makes me so sad!! 😭 I love ink forever ❤️
Ink had some good action stories and comedic timing
i used!! to hate ink stories but it's growing on me tbh
It was the best! Super nostalgic but also had the best stories and wasn’t as gross nor greedy as it is now
The Author being 14 writting a grooming and incest story made so much sense. I hope they realize how screwed up that dynamic and story is.
i remember playing some actually great stories made by independent creators on the app when i was younger. zombie apocalypse stories, fantasy, stuff like that 😭 i always thought the excessive amount of mafia stories or “dark romance” was ridiculous and whenever a story had gem choices i would immediately stop playing lmao
I remember reading a really good zombie apocalypse story but the author sold it to episode lol
@@lotsoflovetoyou omg i know which one you mean. It was one of my absolute favorites. I loved how my choices could actually kill/save certain characters. It's a shame that she never released the last episode, i've never found an equally good zombie apocalypse story.
@havidikevidi omg yes it really was i think it was called infected?
@@lotsoflovetoyou Yep! I even tried Episode's paid version and it was so bad. That kind of story is just not fit for gem choices, especially if your choices can save lives. And the 18th episode if i remember correctly was just a black screen with speech bubbles and they found a ship or something and sailed away. So underwhelming. Idk if they changed it by now but jeez, way to ruin a story.
@@havidikevidi I guess I missed nothing after leaving the app now lol
I can’t remember if it was this or Choices, but one time I was playing a story and the options were something like “go right or go left” so I picked left, the character goes left and was like “huh, there’s nothing here, let’s go back.” That was when I stopped playing because what was the point of giving me options if there was only one choice to begin with
this happens all the time in episode! the illusion of choice is so annoying 😑
I played episode for YEARS, this video felt like whiplash. I can’t believe how many things I’d completely forgotten about 😭
There was this story where a teacher got pregnant by her student (don't ask), and there where two choices for the ending : who does she end up with (the student, the rich childhood friend and another one I forgot about) and does she keep the baby. When the sequel came, the heroine has a grownup child and a rich husband, and even though the author tried to justify it, it was hilariously obvious that there was one intended ending for the previous story and the author didn't want to admit it was a sequel only to that ending
oh this DEFINITELY needs to go on part 2
@@flurrymoon it was called "pregnant by my student" and "pregnant by my student : monster" and the latter was... a mafia romance 😭
They should have done the Choice thing where sequels will carry over your choices from the prequel.
Seeing the Ember Effect in here was a huge surprise that story is forever iconic to me
💯
JOSEPH EVANS WAS THE GOAT
when i tell you i was OBSESSED, joseph evans you’ll never be forgotten 🫶🏼
@@martinamasala5158 for real, it was so crazy for NO reason. It goes from gacha life hated child/baby's first isekai to "I refuse to be trapped in the same cycle of bitter complacency and I am going to kill a man"

I felt like my world came crashing down when they introduced the limelight style lmfao
HAHA SAME
I wasn’t playing it by then but I was so glad they got rid of that first cursed original art style

the license for bad boys girl probably also got expired because it was also a wattpad story which was adapted onto episode
(I am still such a sucker for cliche romance, I blame Episode for this)
I HATED the pregnancy trope I would always drop the story after that LOL also I love earlgreytea and alusza!!
@@flurrymoon I have soooo many unfinished reads and the pregnancy trope is exactly why 😆
I also cant log into my account which is so annoying
Classic style was the first time I ever played Episode… in elementary school on my Kindle 😭. There was this mystery story I was OBSESSED with and every morning before school, I’d quickly play through a chapter.
The crazy thing about the writer who used the N-word is that there is an alternate title to that Agatha Christie book that doesn't have the N-word in it; it's called "And Then There Were None". She could've just used the alternate title, everyone knows it if you've read Agatha Christie's books, she just wanted to say the N-word and get away with it.
"Then there were none" is also an alternate title. The original is "10 little [N-Word]". Still weird to use it as a reference though...

I have such a soft spot for blake! I went back and read the first few chapters and it's definitely super dated and poorly written but the story is there and it's super nostalgic for me 😭💞
Oh yeah! Femme fatale was my favourite back in the day! Gosh I remember that.
Omg Blake was the reason I kept episode for as long as I did 😂
I hated her "dad" sooo much
FEMME FATALE SLAPPED
LOL YOU'RE LITERALLY ME CAUSE SAME
I will never put toxic love interests in my stories. Every love interest will be truly dedicated and loving to the main character. That’s how an Episode love interest should be.
I HATE LIMELIGHT! I’m coming out to say it. The new art style sucks. I love the paper look. It’s a game and it doesn’t need to look realistic!!! 😭
also infamous was one of my favorite stories! I just redownloaded episode because of this video and it’s saved in my favorites but I want it back.
my favourite as a kid was one where the mc was the babysitter of appox. 12 kids, and you fall in love w the oldest kid you babysit. i even remember writing fanfiction and drawing fanart for it. i replayed it COUNTLESS times haha, id love to find it again. this was wonderful to watch :)
weird concept for a story to think abt now but yeahh..
I NEED the name of this story omg
😨 sounds like the plot for a weird shoujo manga.
I dont know if it's the same story that you read or if it just had a similar plot, but I think it might be the story nanny for a year
Omg if it's the story I'm thinking, it's called Nanny For a Year. I love this story so much
You reawakened memories I forgot I had😭
I LOVED ADRENALINE 😭😭😭 one of the most amazing ink stories! creators were able to manipulate ink coding more i feel, and adrenaline was proof of that. you totally unlocked a happy memory out of my brain! episode was there for me when i was extremely depressed in 2016-2017 🖤 they transported me into a different world, almost like a book
OMG fun fact: When I was like 12 I saw a youtuber playing episodes (which got me interested in the game) and they were playing the Pretty Little Liars story and I kid you not I thought the story was MADE BY EPISODE I was legit so shocked when I found out it was a real tv show when I found it on Netflux and started binge watching but then I got bored and skipped to the finale episode which made me so confused that I just outright dropped it 💀
Learning from this that it wasn't just a fan remaking PLL in Episode but that it was an actual collaboration and that it's still there is crazy to me, guess you learn something new every day
Omg was it Ali cat?? Loved herrr
adrenaline was my biggest addiction omg, the animated title screen revolutionised episode imo
Omg this brought back memories, my sister and I used to read chapters immediately when the author released them 🥹 that intro was EVERYTHING!

I remember I began playing episode in 2013 when it first released! It only had two stories and it was so much different than it is now, it felt much more calmer and the content seemed like it has some actual effort put into it
I was there as well!!
Same but in 2014! I was 10. One of the games was campus crush I remember

Even though now I don’t play it, I had a lot of fun playing it. There was one story where you got to become a pop star and it really helped me when my great grandmother died. PLEASEEE do a part two of some of the episode author drama
22:45 adding to heli, most of her Li’s are painted as enemies to lovers but it’s them just bullying the MC and being completely misogynistic
They made Draco malfoy look like a saint
That falls into the definition of enemies to lovers
i love playing episode sometimes but it’s been so hard to find good stories lately because it’s all just “mafia boss literally treats me terribly but it’s okay because i fall in love with him” like I seriously cannot find well written stories anymore 😭 also holy cow faking death was literally one of my favorites i got jumpscared when that popped on the screen

I'm EXTREMELY interested in a part two. In whatever video you want to put out, really.❤️🧡💛 Just subscribed
thank you so much! 😁💞
This was fun as a background video while I did art stuff, I'd definitely watch a second part :)
lmfaooo the Demi Lovato episodes were so good 😭 I remember playing it at my bfs house for days LOL
The "You have ANOTHER family?!" ad sticks in my head because of an edited meme I saw in my fandom 😂
I read that weird incest story on wattpad and at the first they don't even tell that it's an incest it's about the also being her bosses and i was literally traumatised 💀 when i understood the plot but am not even sure if its the same author from episode
my favorite ad was the cat sitting on the toilet seat and the girl needing to pee then saying “i need to pee but can’t move the cat” and the options were either peeing yourself or peeing in your boyfriends open mouth
i’m so glad this ended up in my recommendations omg. i used to read Loving Bad over and over idk what chokehold it had on me 😭 i loved this!
i never knew how badly i need this video until now omfg?

43:31 Unfortunately, I’m not surprised the author was so young. This kind of thing is sadly common in Episode, GachaLife, etc…
You’ve legit made my day. episode was my childhood, this video is so well made ❤
aw thank you so much 😭😭💞💞
GOD nobody understands how badly my heart shattered when I found out Adrenaline got removed.
I loved High School Story sm 😂
i remember when i was like 13 downloading episode and just spending 90% of the time trying to customise the guys in the stories to look hot only to uninstall it after like 10 mins...and now watching this has me wanting to do the same exact thing HAHA🤭

Id love to see you make a part two, lore about somewhat niche topics is always a great listen
adrenaline and infamous were my favorites for so long and watching them get deleted made me so sad 😭 I still play but this unlocked so much lore I forgot about, pls do a part 2!!

thank uu for actually making a GOOD episode iceberg, I’ve been waiting for one 😣😋
Oh hey, it's my comment at 36:52! Haha. The Episode lore goes DEEP. Amazing video btw.
I'm not even in the Episode community but this made me so invested - maybe I'll give this app one more chance
I hope one day they bring back Mobile Creator. Trying to code in the website was killing me and I put all my unpublished stories on the shelf…
A HIGHLY underrated classic story was elemental wars, a dark fantasy with various choices that actually have consequences and plot twists.
Stories that have choices with consequences are the best. Can you recommend stories like that?
I clicked on the video and thought “wow I loved playing episode when I was a teenager. why did I ever stop?” and the answer was already the tip of the iceberg: the gems! 😂😂 I couldn’t handle it anymore but I remember playing the demi one, mean girls one, the influencers brothers one even tho I didn’t know who they were and some mystery story that had a lighthouse.
Your voice is so calming and this video is so well made omg 😭
aw thank you so much! 😭☺️
oh my GOD. INFAMOUS. that story was my suicide squad. like i remember watching it and thinking ‘this movie reminds me of infamous’
i redownloaded episode a few weeks ago and when i did the required viewing of official stories before you can explore (horrible btw, was this always a thing?) they are so bland. and i thought i chose the least toxic one based on the summary but the first episode proved me wrong.
i got into episode from a wattpad story that originated from episode that at ELEVEN i should not have been reading but the ink style was so funny that any toxicity that tried to be normal i completely dismissed as ridiculous. by the time limelight came out i was only reading comedy and i thought the new models were so bland that i gradually ended up not reading anything
part 2 yes pls this was so fascinating. knowing all the things i missed out on in my short fleeting episode era. miss you demi v-v
also when the app didnt register me purchasing some dress or smth so i literally paid for the thing twice ToT. thats my episode trauma, it was a lot of money for preteen :c
I thought I managed to drag myself out of this hellhole years ago but here you are, dragging me back with even less chance of escape.
I love this video! such thoughtful examination of episode’s lore lol. awesome job babe hehe I love you
😛♥️👁️👅👁️
haha thank uuu ☺️💗
Also, I'm happy to have found your channel through this video, your vid is not too condensed/short but not at all boring to listen to while having breakfast hahah I do wish it was 3 hours hahhah coz now I'm impatient for an update hahaha
