So I can't help noticing a few things about the new 'mons: -Abombee gets baton pass, quiver dance, and substitute (granted it has low hp so it can't just take hits and set up) -Wishiwashi gets endeavor, which might work nicely with 45 hp. Its base stats are also higher than pseudo legendaries and indeed higher than some legendaries. -Toxapex gets Baleful Bunker: a version of Kings Shield that poisons the attacker instead of lowering their stats. It can also score guaranteed crits on poisoned targets. And it has good staller stats. -Palossand gets sand veil as a hidden ability, as well as Shore Up: a signature healing move that gets boosted in sandstorm, and good bulk -Silvally gets Parting Shot, which is cool I guess. It's my favorite switchout move so it's nice to see it on some more 'mons. -All of the Tapus get withdraw at lv1. Not useful in any way, but cute. -Mimmikyu wants to be Pikachu so much it can learn Thunderbolt, Thunder Wave, and Thunder. It can also get Mimic, Copycat, and Psyche Up just in case it wants to copy anything else. Would have been cute if it could get transform as an egg move from ditto to finish off the set. Additionally, a few moves have been changed slightly: -Destiny bond: "its chance of failing rises if used in rapid succession" THANK you. Granted that move was easy enough to pp stall, but it was still annoying having to wait. -Leech life: base power has been boosted by 400%. It just went from a joke to actually good. I love bug type so Imma have a field day with this buff.
How could it be a buff? As far as I can see the only thing it gained was a chance to fail if used successively. Unless you think it's going to get more pp to make up for or something? Or is there just something about the metagame that I'm missing, where a chance to fail can be a blessing in disguise?
calforrai that don't mean shit.. Almost EVERY pokemon can learn earthquake regardless of stats, weight, height etc. Game freak is just fucking up this generation. I know it's a doubles Gen (generation focused on double battles) but the level up moves are trash.

Komala, a sleepy little koala, has higher attack than Decidueye, Gumshoos, Silvally, or Kommo-o. It also ties with Lycanroc and Incineroar. I'm freaking done here XD

Daniel Midolo Priority moves got nerfed pretty hard with psychic terrain and abilities like queenly majesty, so priority wont help with speed problems as well as it did before.
I've never seen so many people complain about speed stats. Sounds like they made the right choice with slower, tank pokemon. If anything I'm glad ppl are annoyed. I on the other had love this. The water types are amazing this gen I can't wait.

Yo, Alolan Muk With balloon leading with Shedinja. Muk uses shadow sneak on Shedinja and Power of Alchemy copies wonder guard. Muk is now immune to all types.
You don't even have to Shadow Sneak since Shedinja can faint itself with Final Gambit. Sadly Skill swap, Role play, etc don't work with Wonder guard. I'm pretty sure PoA won't work either :(

Why would you think it'd be stronger? The only Priority attacks with a higher BP than 40 are Extreme Speed and Sucker Punch, and they made Sucker Punch weaker.

Everyone's hating on Rowlet, Dartrix, and Decidueye's stats. If you actually use your eyes you'll see that it has the best, or at least most rounded stats. And don't forget hyper training. With hyper training ( which if I'm correct is basically super training) this evolution line will have the best stats out of the starters. Depending on the type of player you are, this is honestly the best choice for the game stat wise. This is probably the best starter for beginners as well
it doesn't say how yungoos evolves into gumshoos I'm using the rom and I maxed yungoos to lvl 100 and it didn't evolve is it based on happiness or affection or is it a trade evolution or a stone one?
Why is Decidueye so slow?! Its a BIRD and a ARCHER, its entire concept is someone hitting enemies far away from danger, but they made it tanky and mixed, with no stat breaking the 100 except attack by mere 7 points. Why it has 100 Special Attack when its Special Movepool sucks?! No GigaDrain, No Leaf Storm, No Hurricane. Nothing. Just Shadow Ball and Energy Ball. Its literally Meganium 2.0, just with a trapping move and baton pass Sword Dance/Nasty Plot with no support moves like Leach Seed, SleepPowder, Will-o'-the-wisp, Barriers or anything that justifies its tankiness. But your never going to use him apart from its awesome design because Dhelmise exist and its 100 times better. I am so salty...dammit.
1. owls are slow. 2. The fast archer trope is only seen in anime and media. Archer's in reality were practically immobile. None of the starters were based on anything known for its speed, particularly the final starters.
Veranio swords dance, spirit shackles, sucker punch, low sweep max attack 180 speed 74 hp adamant holding a life orb I did the calculations it lives hits from tanks and most leads and after the swords dance it does crazy damage with sucker punch and it can out speed most tanks and doe a lot of damage ( AND HAVE YOU TRIED TO RUN AND SHOOT A BOW IT'S HARDER THEN IT LOOKS AND OWLS ARE PRETTY SLOW BIRDS TO !!!

Vikavolt and Xurcuitri are good against Wishiwashi's school form, the latter One Hit KOes it. If you're insane, you can pull off a Galvatilate Explosion from Alolan Golem, that can also be useful in a 2vs2 battle (with a Ground-type ally).

there are alot more priority moves this gen, so i dont think pokes being slow will matter. But it is sad most of them are slow. Sinnoh 2.0

UB-O1 is Rock poison and the alolan geodude line is electric rock. Isn't ground 4x effective against that?

Everyone's hating on Rowlet, Dartrix, and Decidueye's stats. If you actually use your eyes you'll see that it has the best, or at least most rounded stats. And don't forget hyper training. With hyper training ( which if I'm correct is basically super training) this evolution line will have the best stats out of the starters. Depending on the type of player you are, this is honestly the best choice for the game stat wise. This is probably the best starter for beginners as well
hyper training boosts ivs which every pokemon in the game can max at 31. Also iirc you need to be level 100 to use it
So many pokemon either evolve once or don't evolve at all in this generation. Kind of a let down...

Why is Decidueye so slow?! Its a BIRD and a ARCHER, its entire concept is someone hitting enemies far away from danger, but they made it tanky and mixed, with no stat breaking the 100 except attack by mere 7 points.
Why it has 100 Special Attack when its Special Movepool sucks?! No GigaDrain, No Leaf Storm, No Hurricane. Nothing. Just Shadow Ball and Energy Ball.
Its literally Meganium 2.0, just with a trapping move and baton pass Sword Dance/Nasty Plot with no support moves like Leach Seed, SleepPowder, Will-o'-the-wisp, Barriers or anything that justifies its tankiness.
But your never going to use him apart from its awesome design because Dhelmise exist and its 100 times better. I am so salty...dammit.
1. owls are slow. 2. The fast archer trope is only seen in anime and media. Archer's in reality were practically immobile. None of the starters were based on anything known for its speed, particularly the final starters.

Vikavolt and Xurcuitri are good against Wishiwashi's school form, the latter One Hit KOes it. If you're insane, you can pull off a Galvatilate Explosion from Alolan Golem, that can also be useful in a 2vs2 battle (with a Ground-type ally).
