I don't know why everybody gets so butthurt with the narrator. Sure the other guy has a very iconic voice, but she has a very good cadence and way of sharing information. She's swell.
Ya know speaking of the narrators, I wish they'd be more transparent about them, it's weird that neither of them get credited anywhere, at least that I can see? I also am curious if the narrators write the episodes or are just hired on as narrators and that's it? I like both narrators just fine though personally, I'd say I'm surprised people don't like this narrator but I guess folks will find any reason they can to hate on a woman.
Why are people upset with this narrator? A real person is a million times better than one of those obnoxious AI generated ones. If this is AI then colour me a fool
It was a shock to having the second (female) voice at first a while ago on the normal weird history channel, but I got used to it and her voice is fine to me. However they do have a newer 3rd voice (not this video) that sounds similar but off to the original narrator, but I have suspicions that voice is AI
"a whopping 9 grams of sugar" The 7 g of regular fruit roll-ups doesn't count the other five grams because moltradextrin despite being worse than sugar isn't legally required to be counted as it.
You guys need to chill. OG Narrortor, this lady, or whoever, they are all doing a great job and I like hearing the variety in the voices. With each of them bringing their own energy to the videos. Which is a good thing, btw. It shows there is an actual team behind weird history rather than just one person with a voice. (not saying there ever was, I'm just stating the vibe) Keep up the good work. Don't listen to the haters.
At 1:22, "fruit leather." Yes indeed! That's what my family called it In the early 80s when my mother made it from the apricots and raspberries she grew in our garden. A roll of fruit leather was pretty much the kids' equivalent of chewing tobacco. Tear off a strip, wad it up, put it in your cheek, and let it dissolve in your mouth over the next half hour or so. Excellent stuff! Fruit Roll-Ups became big when I was in middle school, so I always thought of it as a inferior copy of Mom's homemade creation. Love ya, Mom!!!
My dad worked for General Mills and would bring boxes home. I used to call them chewy chews. All time favorite treat. Great video. Now I 2ant some. Lol
Research Joray Fruit Rolls, the creator was Lebanese, not Syrian. Funny that this channel supposedly is teaching us history and they don't know anything about it 😂
@5:08 "The '80s were a weird decade" That decade was the progenitor of many technological advances, produced amazing songs that this generation deemed corny but secretly beloved listening, classic movies that were rebooted or reimagined "for modern audiences", gave us fun videogames and toys to play with, and many more.
I literally grab a family size box of gushers and one of fruit roll ups at Walmart yesterday. I have no kids and I’m almost 40. Their kids be of my favorite snacks.
5:47 Oh hey, the Garfield fruit snacks! I really liked those ones as a kid, they had a kind of a fruit punch flavor and a neat texture because of the character shapes.
String Thing. Family friend used to bring a couple of these for me and my sibling every time they visited. Such fond childhood memories of that wacky snack!
I remember String Things. I had them a few times when I was younger. I just remember them not having a very good flavor, and a sort of strange consistency.
the kosher rolls are great. I had Fruit By The Foot more often as a kid, but Fruit Rollups were my secret favorite because of the flavor. But they were so sticky…
I think the first time I had a fruit roll up was when I got one for Halloween in my bag of guesses an screams. I don't remember what flavor it was, but i remember being thoroughly unimpressed with everything about it. I guess because my grandmother used to dehydrate fruit and purees some of it was like fruit leather, she would bring all these preserved winter supplies over and my mother being gracious would do her damnedest to find room for it all... Obviously there was a bag or Tupperware full of mixed dried fruit on the table for every meal. As kids we liked it, but the pounds and pounds of heavy boxes of dried puree, each fruit leather leaf was a different fruit and separated by a well cut square of butcher paper, thicker than you could roll, at least well. Plum, apricot, mango, pear, cherry, gooseberry, tomato, and others just not apple. She didn't like Apple's...go figure lol
i don't know how anyone could think fruit rollups actually were fruit. i remember them being tasty and fun as a kid, but even then I knew they were not healthy. i'd rather just have some actual strawberries. & what is with all the comments about the narrator? weird. a billion times better than all the AI crap now (AI voices can be good, but 99% of them are lazy content creators that don't edit)
I remember I'm with a group of friends and I'm trying explain to one of them what a dental dam was and I used these as an example. I made one girl laugh and ruined another girls childhood. We were all in our mid 20s
George Shalhoub, creator of Joray Fruit Rolls (an apricot-based fruit snack) immigrated from LEBANON and founded his company in 1886. At least get that part right 😂
8:50 I have no idea what they wrap fruit roll-ups in, but cellophane is *not* plastic. It’s a natural product made from plant-based cellulose. It’s nothing like saran wrap or plastic sheeting.
My personal fave growing up was stretch island fruit leather which a organic brand i was not allowed fruit roll ups my mom said there's not real fruit in them she was probably right
Sir, we have some new comments on our new video, I'll summarize for you. Ahem: "wah, wah, baby wants baby narrator for funny food video". That about covers it, honestly.
The narrator is too similar to the mojo ladys voice. I liked the other guys voice more because it is so iconic. Shes not bad at all but I prefer the other guy.
🏋♀Hey Kids I'm titanium dioxide man 🏋♀ My bold bright colors will never leave your body. Bar cherries for you older kids, all the way down to Froot Loops. Unicorn poop ice cream, Cheetos Flamin hot. I'm Everywhere🏋♀
Oh, the joy of sitting in class with a secret roll up plastered to the roof of your mouth... that's been stuck since lunch.
And Cap'n Crunch for breakfast so the roof of your mouth is like velcro and the fruit roll up adheres better.
I rolled mine up in a ball and held it in my mouth like a Gobstopper/Jawbreaker
😂 that’s so specific and absolutely spot on
those were the days😂
i ate 20 fruit rollups in one sitting once and didn’t poop for ten days
thanks for sharing.

ALL of her episodes are negative. Watch the difference.

Is she the VA from watch mojo too?
'butthurt'??
When I was a kid, I mostly got Fruit by the Foot, primarily because it felt like so much more than Roll-Ups.
Also didn't get stuck in your teeth like Fruit Roll-ups did.
less waxy too
Why are people upset with this narrator? A real person is a million times better than one of those obnoxious AI generated ones. If this is AI then colour me a fool
Agree. Plus, the actual clip footage will always be better than computer generated or ai images.

Yeah this is a real voice actor. Thank you guys for keeping her around.
Because its not the funny guy. It's like when Insider Foods doesn't have Joe on.
She sounds familiar. But I can't place it.
I like this narrator. Nice voice, good pacing, delivery smooth
I bet you voted for VP Camel Hairs too
Weird History is on a roll lately!
I remember dinner-plate size fruit rolls in a deli in D.C. in the early seventies. They were in three or four different fruits and wonderful!
"a whopping 9 grams of sugar"
The 7 g of regular fruit roll-ups doesn't count the other five grams because moltradextrin despite being worse than sugar isn't legally required to be counted as it.
There's people who actually thought fruit roll-ups were healthy? 😂😂
of course
I wasn't allowed to have fruit by the foot, but fruit roll up? Of course! that marketing worked wonders on boomers
@@Sparviian yep, just slap the word 'fruit' on it and it's magically healthy.
yeah, boomers. They will believe anything the TV tells them
Gushers are so good. I still love them. Definitely prefer them over Fruit Roll-Ups, but I do enjoy those as well.

Shark Bites were also great.
Real cool and also something that wouldn't be done today as this video can tell you really cool times then.

the 80's and 90's were great days for fans of gummy candy but im glad to live in the era where gummies have weed in um.
Mexico has its own traditional candy called Cachetada
