When I got this figure, I just straight up removed the cell shading, and some time later I got the Spinerette and modified the arms to swap them to this Mystique just to have the new articulation in the elbows that was promoted in the back of the damn box🙄

I really appreciate your in-depth reviews. I don’t even collect legends but I find your interviews entertaining and wonderfully brutally honest. But I was just wondering if you actually purchase these all yourself or does hasbro like abuse and send them to you. Do you improve these yourself so you can enjoy them or do you melt them down off camera and produce tie die frisbees

Idk why, but I was almost expecting her to come with the candle she has on the box. Idk, it’s just weird to showcase her randomly holding a candle on the front of the box and then not have her come with it, but maybe that’s just me
As much as I loved the X-Men animated series, the figures have been disappointing. I pre-ordered the first few figures, saw your reviews, and canceled those orders as soon as I could. I don't regret it at all. I spent my hard earned money on way better figures and am happy I did.
I canceled my preorders as soon your initial reviews went live, lol. Fast forward to the present and, considering nothing has changed (the only one I've picked up is Cyclops), I'm very glad I did. Thanks!
The only one of the VHS X-Men figures that’s worth a damn is the Cyclops. I’m genuinely shocked that Hasbro bothered keying in the belt strap into the ab-crunch to make the articulation look seamless.
I really wish hasbro would’ve chosen to make this release so much better. They could have at least given her the new female body parts for improved articulation. Instead, this is yet another release that I want only because it is relatively affordable and has a classic design.
Nuts to that, I'd rather not have one in my collection if it's this bad, I can wait for a proper one

Sounds about right. I literally bought this as a gap-filler for my X-Men Rogues gallery. Given the shameless rehash and price I bought this figure begrudgingly and didn't even open it until almost a week later. Once I finally got around to doing so I gave the figure it's two guns, stuck it on the shelf, and didn't pay it any mind until your review.

I love how this figure, more than most, shows us how much better it could have been via the packaging while still containing a turd in the box. The shading is just baffling. They almost square-off her bust, she looks like a character model from an early 3D PlayStation game. And when they actually give one of the figure's in this line a decent amount of accessories, they make sure that they suck. I hate myself for buying these figures and for wanting the series to come back so I can finish the team, even though they're not likely to put any extra effort into them.
The false advertising really bothers me, that and the terrible shading. I collect mostly Marvel legends female figures, and to find good figures is a big challenge for me. After this review i can honestly say that she won't be part of my collection, great video !

Hasbro needs to show photos of the actual figure on the packages. Not some make believe digital render.
I only buy Marvel Legends on new improved bodies (they still could be better) articulation), and if they're discounted.

Smh It's such a shame because Mystique is one of my most favorite X-Men characters and they have really poorly executed her figures over the years. Wonder when we'll finally get a accurate really good one? Lol damn Darwin is absolutely merciless!

I'm fan of the X-men the animated series, but not a fan of "animated shading" because it doesn't make sense. If you wanted "animated shading", then they should be statues. Action figures, which are meant to be posed in different positions, will always break the animated shading illusion, if you attend to pose them differently from how the shading dictates. It also doesn't help that shading is done incorrectly and half assed by Hasbro. This toy line is basically a cheap looking money grab gimmick, which is over priced for what you are getting, just to prey on buyers who are nostalgic on a beloved series. Easy pass for me.
Some people are getting these just to put the boxes on their book shelf.

Sad thing is I would have considered this if the double-jointed elbows were intact, that way it'd be an upgrade over the Walgreens version. But no, life's not fair, we get a quarter assed release. Cyclops was at least on the new-ish Vulcan body and looks incredible for it (Give or take the half-ass cel shading)

Hasbro's version of cel-shading is unpurchaseable. When it is applied to a repainted product Hasbro's efforts deceives its original product. The first Mystique is a grail for some collectors, and this product does very little to those collectors who missed out on it. I hope that Darwin-punts for lousy products become a standard on your channel.

Only issue I have with McFarlane is the lack of accessories or putting alternate heads behind a paywall on the same figure (I.E. unmasked heads for Batman). However Toddfather's looking to change that it seems with those Nolanverse figures, they look great!

Greetings, I have a big question, if these figures bother you so much (I share the feeling with some) why do you keep buying them? The ideal would be to review figures that are to your liking that you like and recommend. I've always wondered why review a product you don't feel comfortable with. P.D: excuse my poor english.

to answer your question, Nope. I gave up on marvel legends in general. For a few more bucks I can get a way better figure. The stuff they keep shipping out is trash and no care for them. $30? I expected better quality.

I gave up on these after getting Jubilee. Just garbage level quality for $30. Passed on the rest of this line until the Warehouse sale they had. Got Cyclops and Mystique but only because they were 30% off.

I'm just disappointed with this line period...nothing more than overpriced repaints on very old bodies with little to no paint and no accessories. That being said, Hasbro is a scam but what's worse are the collectors that are "just happy to have it" mentality. That's the bigger part of the problem in my opinion. So Hasbro knows that most of their consumers are people who simply just don't care and have no real standards or expectations. So they bank on those guys. Idk, I hate to rant lol but as a collector; Hasbro is legit a slap in the face for the Marvel Legends line.

They are marquee characters and they put zero effort in. I think I'm done with Marvel Legends with maybe a couple of exceptions smh

I only got her and Cyclops from this line as I missed out on the comic versions and needed them to fudge into my display. I am so tired of waiting for Hasbro to give us a new Mystique. I been waiting for a new Sabretooth too and they gave us the skinny odd William Defoe looking one. Sigh.....
