- Thank You, Fernando Caudra, Cuadra Boys Racing, and Frank (The Icon) Iaconio
This video is one I made, after Frank, and Fernando Invited me to the 2024 NHRA Summit Nationals. They both took care of me like we were old friends. I was there last year for the Event. Fernando, and Frank, treated me like family. In this video, you can see today's pro stock up close, and behind the scenes. I was able to ride the gold cart right up to the line, and get some great video. Until, NHRA saw that I did not have starting line Credentials. Fernando said, next year I will have them, and a Caudra Boys racing Team shirt.
Fernando Cuadra, owner of Corral Boots, Cuadra Boots, and now Tecovas Boots. Has been racing many years, in his own country of Mexico, with many championships. He started racing in NHRA pro stock, in 2003, and qualified in 2004, with FIRE, Frank Iaconio Racing Engines. But do to his growing business, He left racing, until 2018. Now with Caudra Boys racing established, he and his 3 sons, Fernado Jr, Christian, and David went NHRA Pro Stock racing. Fernando retired this year, after he raced his 3 sons simultaneously, at the 4 wide Nationals at Charlotte. His sons, will continue to race the NHRA Pro Stock series, they are also taking over his Boot, and Western wear Empire.
Stay tuned to DragBoss Garage, "Where your always seeing and learning something new."
Ohh! The beauty and fun of drag racing especially when there's a good Ford showing. Thanks, Tim!👍
Your welcome. Fun as can be for me.
thats a chevy in the mustang they want you to think its ford versus chevy
@lewishendershott4783 DRCE is not a Chevy engine. I get it.
@@DragBoss351Cleveland, it IS a GM engine though!
@kurtleinenkugel7725 yep DRCE block
What a great way to see the inner workings of the pro stockers!! Thanks for taking us along with you and sharing this video! Good times for sure!
More fun than a barrel of monkeys thanks T Bird Racer
I know Frank since the mid 1960’s. He’s amazing. Still working as hard as ever and building engines that run at the top of Pro Stock. The Cuadra’s were awesome to let you do this video !
This was blast.Frank is one of the hardest guys I have seen in action. Caudras are great people. Real people and best people. You get it. 😊
Good job on this. You're very blessed to have cart blanche with the Cuadra's.
Your verbal content is disciplined and abbreviated. I admire and respect that. Great beyond the grandstands insight. Thank you, sir.
@@lancelittle3956 thanks Lance, They are great people. Last year I went, and Fernando, had me bring my family to the event. We had a blast. Something you don't see everyday. Appreciate you
I totally agree with you about Frank, but the Chevy engines should not be allowed in anything but Chevys. NHRA really dropped the ball on Pro Stock
A bit unusual that they let you film the engine so close when they were working on it. Thought it was more secret than that. But very interesting
Nope, secrets inside. Won’t get much from looking Inside valve cover.
Great behind the scene vid . Awesome to see frank turning wrenches . And knock it out if the park first round . Congrats to the team .
I will tell him. Thanks Mathew for watching and enjoying. 💯🏁
Thanks for taking us along Drag Boss!!!!! Pretty cool gift your daughter made for Frank. Man, I sure miss going to the track these days. You made my day today. 🏁🏁🏁💯
There it is more fun than one should be allowed to have. Your welcome studio
🙏👍
👍👍🏁
Excellent Video!
I Love Drag Racing! and I Love Pro Stock!
I haven't been to a National Event Since Norwalk 2010.
Great Up in Your Face Pro Stock Action!
Glad you enjoy. I sure did. An event you don’t see up close, most of the time.
Surprised y’all ain’t found y’all’s way to some of the nostalgia pro-stock events yet…
Looks like y’all had a good time.
Thanks for sharing.
Our family goal. Road trip to some of those and SEGA events
It’s good to be Dragboss Garage. Great video. Thank you.
Thanks Steve. I am blessed and give thanks. I have another video of the year before. I put it together. Another view people don’t see ever or this close up.
Awesome job giving us the Low-down in the pits and in the staging lanes.😊
Glad you enjoyed! Just something you don’t see every day.
Thanks for the video and your time. But NHRA killed pro stock a long time ago
Your welcome. I agree with that. I just love the whole process of how it all works. Yes I not a fan of one engine cars.
OUTSTANDING... MR.FRANK... ALWAYS KILLIN' IT!
Respectfully, Seth
He is the man for sure. Will be a great chat. Tonight with him and Warren Johnson at 7pm
Awesome. Let the them know how much your viewers really appreciate them having you there.
I sure will Don. Thanks for being there last night.
Awesome video Tim! Glad to see Frank still in it big time and much success to the team.
You’re most welcome Ben. It was a blast. Thanks again for the shout out, loved the video.
What an awesome opportunity Tim!
Man that is the truth. Another opportunity is on the way, stay tuned 👍🏁
Outstanding video , Thank you for posting 🔥🔥🔥🙏 , I wish I could get starting line credentials for the NHRA Sonoma Nationals this month. I’m yet to get trackside at a NHRA National event. I would love to shoot the entire NHRA SONOMA Nationals from the starting line area with the photographers.
I did not have credentials. Nhra guy made me leave the line. Next year I will have crew gear. Thanks for watching. What a blast
It's a awesome behind the scenes video. I got a question for you. You are a Gidden fan. Why did Gidden race a Chevy Monza? I keep seeing pictures of the Monza on Facebook. But no tell the story behind Monza.
He raced it in 76 only. Not sure why, other than a deal on package. Did not qualify. There was an issue with timing. Then sold car to John lingenfelter. He put a cleveland in it and cleaned up.
I'm glad to see at least there's a mustang body out there used to be just Camaros, it's good to see Frank back out there may I miss the old pro stalkers back in the 80's and 90's girl Bob Glidden that was my dude
Yep body only. But Frank has never left, building engines all along. Thanks
Thanks Tim. What an awesome day!!
Sure was. Great stuff.
Man I would love to be there your a lucky guy
Great times for sure. It’s almost like being there.
It's a lot different looking at that big old snorkel going into the EFI opposed to the two big dominators they used to have man I miss englishtown walking through the pits of my dad when I was like 5 years old back in 79 my first race till they closed is there a good times man back then I miss englishtown
Agreed. I was just looking at pics of Englishtown being tore down as well as Atlanta. So sad to see this part of racing history fading away slowly and nothing we can do about it.
I’m not even there and I’m excited!👍🤪
Great stuff Laut, ck out replay
wow! HOW COOL!!! Talk about vomiting money! This family MELTS credit cards! I do not dare ask what a weekend costs this family! SO COOL!!!
I bet it is a million bucks a year min for one car, let alone 3, previously 4 cars.
Cool video, I was standing like 15 feet away, #29 NHRA blue vest talking to Anderson.
I know it, I put the title Revanevan, in the vid. Thanks man, a different perspective, behind the scenes. Live chat on DBG Sunday at 7pm with Warren Johnson and Frank Iaconio. Should be epic.
that was really cool to see Tim, a ford doing well at pro stock. i might have to start watching pro stock again, thanks for showing this mate very cool
Craig, not a ford engjne. But still fun and exciting.
@@DragBoss351Cleveland are there no ford powered pro stock cars anymore, what engine do they use then
Tough Racing Pro-Stock.. Losing by Hundreds & Thousands nearly all the time... Great video Tim...
Thanks doc. Thousandths of a sec crazy
Nice to see a ford in pro stock…..my high school buddy ran a ford in pro stock….frank zither flying meatball out of Maryland…..maybe you can get frank on a live feed …..He also ran some Cleveland’s in the day…….
Don’t know him Robert sounds like a killer combo. Yeah ford body, DRCE engine.
Great content!! ❤
Fun stuff you don’t see close up everyday. 💯
Good video DragBoss...
Appreciate it Spin
Ford in P/S again!!! 😎
The car body anyway
Thank you for the show buddy hope you have a great Memorial Monday everyone ❤😎🏁💪🏼
Right on, keep it real and keep it strong.
thanksTim !!!
Right on Jeff. Right on
👍🏁🏁👍
🏁💯🇺🇸
Corral has the best cowboy boots.
Right on, never wore cowboy boots. Say as comfortable as any shoe
When are they going to build you one of those engines for your cougar..😁
Tim Halstead, would u consider slipping one of those lencos in the cougar? Lol
G- Force
I sure have, thinking that C4 may be out the door, then is it C6 or Turbo 400. Right. Be hell of a lot of fun with a stick dropping clutch at 6k lol
Great job Tim!
Thanks Chuck. A real blast. Make sure you stop by Sunday at 7pm for live with WJ and Frank.
Wow big difference from the pintos and mustang 2 of the earlier years
Ain’t that the truth Robert
They have food let’s eat.
I'm a die-hard Ford Blue Oval man, and it makes me sick to see GM engines in a Ford car!! Makes zero sense that NHRA allows this crap to happen. I totally stopped watching Pro Stock when the mix breeding started.
@@lumbeewarrior2560 yeah I like your comment on the engine however just glad to have some different bodies out there like to see a Dodge be out there just to mix it up
In my opinion, the current NHRA 500" P/S could also fit neatly into Comp. Eliminator. The limited Mountain Motor P/S Series is way cooler and far more representative of Pro- Stocks formative years, in my opinion.
Great behind the scenes insight brought to us by DragBoss himself. Granted, the Pro- stock class today is but a shadow of it's formative self but the performance these cars can achieve within the rules is still pretty amazing. Kudos to the Cuadras and to Tim for bringing us along and to The Icon, Frank Iaconio. Frank was instrumental in getting the P/S Class established and making it so popular in the early 1970s. He continued to personally compete well into the 80s and today he continues to display the engine - building prowess and tuning abilities that we remember him for. He is our tie to what I'm sure most of us consider to be the glory days of Pro- stock.
@@billfioretti3013 not taking nothing away from Frank but Pro Stock was really the brainchild of 3 men, Dyno Don, Bill Jenkins and Ronnie Sox back in 69.
@@darrinb5249 but the body doesn't mean anything if it isn't powered by the same make of engine.
Prostock died years ago,if you don't have all 3 competing against each other it's just a Chevy show.
There is some light at the end of the tunnel with Factory Stock Showdown & the Factory X classes. The only thing holding the new F/S & F/X back is sponsorship. Aftermarket companies don't want to sponsor a class that only allows a few aftermarket parts. Imo it's what ended up hurting the Trans Am series in the 70's.
I’m looking at it from the work involved. Regardless of what engine.
Revan Evan told me it would take alot if money and time for Ford to get back into pro stock, but from the looks of it, they seem to be competitive against the so called ( Big names) in pro stock. Man wish we could see the blue oval dominate pro stock again.
It is a Mustang shell with a big block Chevrolet engine. There is not a Ford decal on the car only a cobra emblem. Not sure you can say Ford is back in NHRA pro stock. You want to see real Ford pro stocks, check out some Jon Kasse mountain motors in PDRA.
@@MichaelBallenger-zk7qf Hey thanks for letting me know that. Sorry if it sounded like I said they were back in pro stock. It hurts that's a Chevy motor in there. But every funny car and top fuel dragster has a hemi, so doesn't matter what body huh. Lol. Anyway thank for filling me in on that. I will check out the pdra. I really like jon kasse.
It would take the Ford engine. Jc-51 and then it would be a different story.
You’re right, but not a big block Chevy it is a DRCE engine. Big difference.
Tim , how many of the Cuadra engines are from Frank and are there any from Elite ,,, ?
Frank only builds Christian Cuadras, rest are elite.
And what about bracket racing? Heads up racing or play video games.
Is it a Ford engine ?
I don't think so. I believe all the PS teams use a similar block. Standardization. It's not like Factory showdown or Factory X cars. Those cars have GM, Ford, and Dodge engines.
NHRA has a legal engine that is used in all the prostocks
There are 2 cylinder heads that are legal for use. So as one guy told me , it is whatever you want to call it. I call it a Frank Iaconio, it is the fruits of his labor.
@johnsalvaterra3116 that’s it l. A fun adventure for me. Thanks John
Are you the family that own the boot company I were cuadra boots but you got a cool car or two
Thats Them. Great guys to hang with.
@@DragBoss351Cleveland ya I own some of ther cowboy boots I sort of thought the I see corral boots also so ther all connected
@@DragBoss351Cleveland I would say they are prob Spanish and ther great people
@JeffLeblanc-xb7qe yes sir multiple western boot businesses.
@@DragBoss351Cleveland cool
Only ford and GM in pro stock no Dodge . Johnson’s was the last dodge team
Hybrid Ford….Mustang body with Chevy engine.
Last mopar was Alan prusiesnki
DRCE not Chevy
Ford body chevy motor right ?
DRCE engine
Are these not chevy powered...............
No, DRCE powered. Not Chevy
Ford in a Ford why don’t watch NHRA anymore to much BS
Yeah but to see how all works is a different perspective.
They don't call it Government Motors for nothing!🤑
