    I'm with you. I grew up pronouncing it your way. Grew up in California. I've only ever heard the NAM from those who live in the South

    If you like the version of the word VietNOM then use that, perhaps I myself use this version when I speak English but I'm from Europe so I usually say VietNAM ..... (I'm from the balkans btw). Yh it may sound weird, but all I care about is you using the way of saying the word (Vietnam) you like most.

    Who js randomly switches up to a diff accent, coming from a viet person vietNOM sounds better in english. Saying it w the viet accent sounds so weird n try hard

    You dont say viet-naam, just a quick 'a' sound, like if you say 'mum'
