These Korean guys taught people like you and me, that we don’t have to work ourselves into the English framework if we don’t want to. If STD doesn’t mean anything in Korean then the English speakers’ idea of it isn’t our problem. I know it isn’t that easy for bilingual people like us. But you know what I am saying.
He rapped that fast part faster LIVE during his solo world tour last year. I would advise for you guys to check out SUGA's talk show called, SUCHWITA. In one of the interviews, he himself was interviewed. RM was the host for that episode. You will learn a lot about him and where his name came from. watch?v=YXr6-vXzSrI (RM with Agust D)
Suga is a known producer. He produces his own raps and a lot of BTS music, and music for other artists. He has won awards as a producer. He was really upset when he found out he had to learn to dance in BTS! 😅😅 Love his music.❤ These days, as well as rapping, he also sings and plays the guitar. He's always played the piano.
It's a diss track after some Rapper called him and RM 'girls for wearing make up on stage' Said Rapper got himself into some trouble attacking another Rapper which resulted in a prison sentence he's tried to say sorry to Suga but wasn't received. In fact the 3 Rappers of BTS tell him in another track to go back to Hawaii where he as born. So not only did that Rapper get dished just by Suga in this track but also by Suga, RM and J Hope in another track.
Just adding onto the name explanation others have mentioned that not only is Suga from Daegu but his rap crew there before BTS was called Daegu Town. In other words he incorporated both of the groups into the name of his Agust D persona. 💜
Suga is just saying facts 🔥 On his tour people go crazy on the spelling his name part the whole arenas were singing it word for word . Suga himself said armys on his tour were louder than ever imagine when bts tour when they are back 🤭💜
@RedbullvodkagodOh shit. Please don't report me. It was my first time, really. You are obviously into guys and I am quite flexible. Is there anything I can do to make you forget you saw me here? Or maybe I should just trust that you are in the middle of a blackout and won't remember any of this when you sober up.
Suga is one of my biases and his birthday is 3 days before mine and I’m actually from Detroit and live there so we’re both from the “D” in a way so how much we have in common is one of the reasons he’s my bias😂😂😂
Late comer here, BUT. About that time of their careers, the boys themselves have said how much anger they hold onto themselves bc of all the criticisms from every side (not being idol-type enough, 'leaving' the k-hiphop underground scene, and your normal haters keyboard warriors) without being able to do sht about it, except getting better at their craft, so they redirected those feelings towards their solo projects, specially RM (RM, mixtape, is full of samples, credits them all, to mention some songs 'Rush', 'Do you', 'Throwaway') and Suga (AGUST D, should check out 'give it to me' and 'The Last', maybe Tony Montana, too). By contract and standard PR work from the industry they were now tied to and were part of (which is very strict about lawsuits over copyrights, defamation, and such, and that they make prison time over maria juana in their country) they couldn't make more direct addressing nor diss an specific person/rapper/artist and engage in beef or diss battles aside from what they were permitted in the Cyphers and their solos. And oh, believe me, fans of the scene (the k-side of music) are very aware of who they 'may' be referring to, and is full of tea. At the time Daechwita was released (D-DAY, 2020) there already were various scandals in SK about some idol rappers (that did their part and wrote their things, well, the majority) consuming happy pills and other things, and it being tied with the underground scene, so AgustD saying things about pill poppers in Daechwita ruffled some feathers around there. Only one public diss was that of Bobby (from iKON) to RM, to which he replied and stopped there, but in good faith. RM knew it was part of the hiphop scene.
His song is named Agust d, because that was the birth of his alter ego Agust d. He kinda spoiled his new name in bts Cypher 3 and then released a mixtape with new stage name for his solo actions.
In my personal opinion, the spelling of his name could have been intentional. In the next lines, he references his "tongue technology" which is a double about oral sex and his rapping skills.
"Agust D" is like the alter ego of SUGA from BTS. I think many rappers have included their alter egos in a song title. Take for example Eminem's "Slim Shady" alter ego and his song "The Real Slim Shady".
I think because this song is for the haters spelling out his name with STD is a word play with double meaning for me STD is a type of disease that can be dangerous (it's like he was referring to himself as dangerous in rap scene) and viral STDs doesn't have cure and as a double meaning when you had a taste of him or BTS you will never get them out of the scene either idol industry or hip-hop scene.
😂 rappers have songs with their stage name but the ones I can think of didn't literally title the song with their name. However the goal was the same which was to raise their awareness of who they are to the public...Snoop did it with 'what's my name?' And Eminem with 'my name is' .
He's spelling out his other stage name ( to be honest he has 3 stage names' as in the underground hip hop scene before he was BTS he was known as 'Gloss' a play on his name.) Agust D is Suga T D meaning Suga T D stand for the Daegue the Town he's from. T standing of course for Town.
Thank you guys. Could you guys watch the lyric video for Hip Hop phile/ Hip Hop lover? It is a track about their come up story and who some of their influences were.

Agus is SUGA spelled backward, and the DT stands for Daegu Town where he's from. Also, many have commented about the use of STD when he's spelling out his name. Ironically many say it's a double entandra, meaning BTS' popularity spread, globally...LOL. Which is a makes great word play. 😄💜
If you also think about it he is talking about turning someone on, so the STD could be a bar in that context 🌚
Yoongi is not comparing bts to a disease......pls stop saying such nonsense, he's selling out his name in his self titled song. It's the same thing Joon did with R to the M I'm a muthafkcing monster and Hoseok with J to the Hope Jung to the himang Jack in the box lines
Please react to UGH and Ddaeng by the Rapline. DKDKTV has explanation videos for both songs as well.
Yes, this
Yeah.. agreed
Yes please
Definitely look for a high-quality translation/analysis especially for Ddaeng, so that you will understand the masterpiece. Doolset blog is a good one.
You should watch his concert in the theater. Tickets are on sale now.
Have my ticket off to the cinema to watch it tomorrow evening.
Actually Em has a song called "Slim Shady" as his alter ego
AGUST D is his alter ego 😊
Yes or what suga said a “less filtered version of suga” but is basically alter ego too yep!
Even before Em. There is a classic rock anthem from the late 70s/early 80s called "Bad Company" by Bad Company, on the album Bad Company.
Suga is just saying facts 🔥
On his tour people go crazy on the spelling his name part the whole arenas were singing it word for word . Suga himself said armys on his tour were louder than ever imagine when bts tour when they are back 🤭💜
Also Suga is for “shooting guard,” a reference to the position he played in basketball.
Madonna has a Diplo joint called "Bitch I'm Madonna".
Agust D Agust D is something else LOL
He is from Daegu ,D
He's from Daegu, aka D-Town. Agust D is Suga spelled backward plus the initials for D-Town.
Actually he has brought his music. His concerts in the US sell out in mins. Bigger crowds than any artist in the US
His song is named Agust d, because that was the birth of his alter ego Agust d. He kinda spoiled his new name in bts Cypher 3 and then released a mixtape with new stage name for his solo actions.
Please do UGH, Anger, and Ddaeng! They're lit 🔥🔥🔥
HAEGUEM. .HIGHLY RECOMMENDED VIDEO
You should try to see his live in theatres concert replay next month!
Suga is 🔥🔥🔥 BTS forever 💜♾️💟💜✌️🇮🇪
Please check his live performance of the songs from his D-tour called D-day. So much energy and he sounds amazing there
In my personal opinion, the spelling of his name could have been intentional. In the next lines, he references his "tongue technology" which is a double about oral sex and his rapping skills.
YOU SHOULD ALSO CHECK SUGA - THE LAST ❤
"Agust D" is like the alter ego of SUGA from BTS. I think many rappers have included their alter egos in a song title. Take for example Eminem's "Slim Shady" alter ego and his song "The Real Slim Shady".
Guys you can react to his solo concert, it is freaking really good.the best concert, you can react with the subtitles for all songs
Seeing this live was something else!! FIRE
I was just going through the comments to see if someone mentioned this. Well said!
Yeah, we need to take these things deeply to better understand what they're saying, specifically rap line
*nods* exactly
He's just spelling his name...sighhh
Fun fact- 'DT' in his name refers to his hometown of Daegu AND the underground rap crew he was in before BTS. They were called Daegu Town.
When ever i listen to this song 3:54 hey ho part it always stuck in my mind as Jhope eee 😂
Now it's going to be stuck in mine as well😅😅😅
The song "Give it to me" ...video literally picks up where this one ends
He's introducing his alter ego, AGUST D, hence the title. Kind of like Eminem and Slim Shady.
he's monster
😂 rappers have songs with their stage name but the ones I can think of didn't literally title the song with their name. However the goal was the same which was to raise their awareness of who they are to the public...Snoop did it with 'what's my name?' And Eminem with 'my name is' .
I hope you guys go watch the movie of his concert !! It was so good live !!
Agust'd is an alter ego if y'all didn't realize it. Like big poppa😊
You have to check Arson and More by jhope
Suga is from Daegu town in South Korea.
He's spelling out his other stage name ( to be honest he has 3 stage names' as in the underground hip hop scene before he was BTS he was known as 'Gloss' a play on his name.)
Agust D is Suga T D meaning Suga T D stand for the Daegue the Town he's from. T standing of course for Town.
Thank you guys. Could you guys watch the lyric video for Hip Hop phile/ Hip Hop lover? It is a track about their come up story and who some of their influences were.
U should react to THE LAST by Suga
Thank you for reaction.
Finalmente 🎉💜💜💜
best rappers old school rapline of bts lyrics so fire
AGUST D = SUGA backwards (AGUS) + Daegu Town( his hometown) initials backwards (T D)
For agust D I commend Snooze
Suga knows what he is saying.. Actually he knows about STD.. I'm sure.. If you read the lyrics.. There is a double meaning behind it.. That what makes this more interesting lmao.. He was talking about tongue technology.. I don't know if u guys know about Knox Hill.. But he is good at breaking down lyrics.. He got it when he reacted to it. btw Thanks for the reaction.
Its not August as in the month its just AgustD. Theres no u after the A. Its Suga backwards the dt for degu town where hes from. Suga names comes from his favourite basketball position Shooting Guard. Many read and pronounce his name incorrectly.
You forgot about Slim Shady regarding self titled tracks. ✌️💜
Please also react to the songs "Daeng" and "Outra:Tier". Especially the live performance from Tear you gotta see. Both are from the Rap line and I think you would really enjoy them.
Daeng: ruclips.net/video/JuZwvYDQ92E/видео.html
Outro:Tear: ruclips.net/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/видео.html
From the D / Daegu .. but everyone has said it already. AGUST D is SUGA backwards Town Daegu. and… STD is a very old Acronym.. it’s STI.. and he’s South Korean, but I’m sure if he thought it would makes its way to US audiences, someone would have told him. This was from his 1st Mixed tape, released for free on SoundCloud, for fans.. not public consumption. Kinda cool, right? 💜
Thank you again ❤
Sagaaa is so talented 🔥
