Thank you for uploading this video to RUclips. I enjoyed watching the Two Ronnies when I was a boy. I enjoyed their musical routines and this is one of my definite favourites. "Ee what a band are the Rochdale Ringers!
    Ee what a marvellous sound!
Reet proper grand are the Rochdale Ringers,
    Best for miles around!
We played Bach at the old folks' suppers,
    Strauß at the Aldermen's Ball.
    But, oh, what a twist
    When we all got Mozart
    Playing the Temperance Hall!"
The little story about the knocker-upper is the best bit, though:
"Knock us up, knock us up,
When you're out on a spree.
Knock us up, knock us up,
    And the maiden you see
    Lying flat on her back,
Knock us up - let her be!"

Another great sketch by the genius two Ronnie's,I tried to watch another couple of sketches but these were blocked, typical BBC throwing a wobbly.
If I had my way like I suspect millions of others I'd shove their licence fee up their fucking arses,
Like they don't rob us enough as it is showing crap TV programs without the choice to opt out.
Sorry for moaning but if they had decent comedy like this I wouldn't mind.

They pre-recorded the music professionally in a sound studio. Then when they came to perform it in front of live audience, they muted the performers instruments who then mimed to the backing tape. Often the only "live" sound was the two Ronnies singing the song.

😅Ee what a band are the Rochdale Ringers
      Ee what a marvellous sound
Reet proper grand are the Rochdale Ringers
      Best for miles around
We give 'em Bach at the old folks' suppers
      Strauss at the Aldermens' Ball
But oh what a twist when we all got Mozart
      Playing the Temperance Hall
There's Mr Holden, his tone is golden
His bell's a whopper, and made of copper
Goes white with anger, when he drops a clanger
On Friday night at the Temperance Hall
Ee what a band are the Rochdale Ringers
      Ee but we're champion type
Reet proper grand are the Rochdale Ringers
      All black pudding and tripe
We ring the change with the bobs and triples
      Up on the clarion call
But we had trouble so we downed two doubles
      Playing the Temperance Hall
Thursday night we joined the local Philharmonic
Have a Ring that's quite Teutonic
      They play Wagner
      They play chronic
After that we're off to do a small Masonic
With a little gin and tonic sol fa
We're keen on Handel, and Elsie Randall
We play Messiah, I play with fire
She likes Elijah, and I'll oblige 'er
On Friday night at the Temperance Hall
Tingaling, tingaling, we've bells on the brain
And we can't sleep a wink for the tinkly refrain
Then we get a ratatat on the old window pane
It's our local knocker-upper Billy Hardwick
Half asleep, in a heap, in your vest and your socks
Nearly eight, don't be late, ratatat Billy knocks
Guess who'll get a thick ear for his next Christmas box
It's our local knocker-upper Billy Hardwick
Though he was a bandy chap, his little handicap,
Didn't stop his larks, with the lasses in the parks
He was so passionate, he couldn't ration it
They called him willy nilly Billy Hardwick
Now he had a happy life, not so his little wife
She took it very bad and got very very mad
She grabbed a carving knife, cut off his social life
      Silly bIlly nilly willy Hardwick
Knock us up, knock us up, when you're out on a spree
Knock us up, knock us up, and a maiden you see
Lying flat on her back, knockers up, let her be
That's the moral of the tale of Billy Hardwick
We play far from Rochdale on civic occasions
We're going to Oldham on Saturday night
We ring for the mayors and the big corporations
We're going to Oldham on Saturday night
The Lady Mayoress there, is known as Big Bess there
The front of her dress there, is bulging and tight
We'll have a right gala, in Bessie's front parlour
Cause we're going to 'old 'em on Saturday night
Ringers born and bred, Higginbottom Ted
      Higginbottom Sam and Higginbottom Fred
Higginbottom Jim who is slightly dim
      When he's up the spout
Sidebottom Ted with a big bass clef
And Obadaiah Dutton, who's a little Mutt and Jeff
      With t'Bottom Dan, he's a colster man
      And they're all clapped out
There is poor old Eli, getting in a twitter
For he's had a lot of bitter for a Friday night
And he lifts his bell his brow begins to wrinkle
When he has a little tinkle and he's quite alright
So we ring them in and we ring them out
And we do the hokey-cokey and we shake 'em all about
There's a note or two, doesn't quite ring true
      And we say by 'eck
Is it Arthur Twist with his limp right wrist
He's a real damp, high camp, campanologist
If it's Harold Boyes, you can shut that noise
      Or we'll wring his neck
Alderman Toothill, living in Bootle, got three things with graft and skill
Management class, and plenty of brass, and a lass in trouble off her pill
Now he's defunct, his widow has plunked, a statue of him gaunt and grim
And what he did to other people, corporation pigeons do on 'im
Ee what a band are the Rochdale Ringers
Ee but we're nimble and spry
Reet proper grand are the Rochdale Ringers
      Ding dong merrily high
Tight as a newt at the Fur and Feather
We play the thingy from Saul
Smart and dapper with a well-oiled clapper
      Playing the Temperance Hall
Smart and dapper with a well-oiled clapper
      Playing the Temperance Hall
      (*** For non-Brits, Mozart [and Liszt] is rhyming slang for pissed [drunk]; tight as a newt [drunk];
Mutt and Jeff is rhyming slang for deaf; Fur and Feather is a pub name; 'bobs and triples' are
genuine bell ringing terms; a knocker-upper was a real job - a human alarm clock that tapped on
windows with a long cane to get factory workers up for early shifts; knockers - slang for womens'
breasts; willy - slang for vital part of masculine anatomy; silly billy = term for foolish).
