- Join us on our travels on the Camino de Santiago! About this episode:
We leave Belorado after staying in an amazing albergue ( www.cuatrocant..., that was voted No 1 on Trip Advisor then we started heading approximately 24km to San Juan de Ortega on a beautiful morning. There was some stunning sunrise shots caught on camera this day!
San Juan de Ortega is a small location with just a hotel, monastery and a bar 🍻, going through Villa Franca which has been welcoming pilgrims since the ninth century (fact alert! 🤣).
It was beautiful scenery and to top it off we stopped off at a little pop up 'the camino oasis' where we were entertained and refreshed ready for the remaining walk.
When we finally arrive and get ourselves settled in, we join a couple of Camino friends for dinner 🍷and wrap up the evening ready for the following day.

We were so happy that we stopped, he was such a lovely gentleman with very wise words that he shared with us all. Glad that you are enjoying the videos 👣
One of my fave walks was through those woods up from Villafranca - loved the canopy. And I loved the Camino Oasis! That guy was funny. And it was while taking a solo break here that I met two ladies, an Aussie and a Yank, who would become really good friends in the weeks to come...it's funny how that happens and you would never know that at the time. Nice hats! I can see why your kids avoided you :) In San Juan, at the lone bar, I was really lucky to snatch one of the 7 beds there upstairs...what a great day, ending with pizza and beer.
Hey Mark...you are making me miss the Camino even more now! I love hearing the stories of people making friends on the Camino, it is such a unique experience and that has led us remaining friends with people due to sharing the time together on Camino. P.S: My (Mark) hat has seemed to have disappeared...I suspect Henry has something to do with this 🤣

@@EverydayJourneysTV yes. I love everything about Spain. I walk a lot in the nord. 2200 km totally. I wish to be there now :).
Try to stop in Boadilla del Camino. They have a pool and very good services. Say hey to Eduardo:).
Hontana is also amazing. Lot of beautiful places :).

For a monastery, I thought those rooms looked very well kitted out - till you said you were staying in the hotel😂 Given how lovely those rooms looked, I can completely understand why. Hope Louise managed to catch up on her sleep!
The rooms were amazing and it was great that we could have a little quiet time from the kids and them from us 🤣
