The sardines dinner looked so delish! "Nakakagutom naman!" Did you know that the holy water font at Villafranca Montes de Oca is a huge clam shell from the Philippines? I tried to visit so I can have a photo taken next to it but the church was closed when we stopped by on Oct 11, 2022. That was a must do for me during our Camino. So disappointed! And yeah, I used a lot of salonpas! Only Asians know about Tiger Balm and salonpas. And they work! So cool to see you guys are having fun doing the Camino.
oh wow i'm sorry to have missed the clam shell! Now I have to go back :P maybe when we retire, we can do the Frances again and really take our time. And yes tiger balm was a life saver for me! I think i finished two bottles while we were walking :)

Yes I was able to carry the Osprey Sirius 36L as carry-on luggage. My husband was also able to carry-on his Osprey 38 L Kestrel. We flew Air Canada from Toronto to Paris and then Lisbon to Toronto. Both times they let us carry-on the backpacks :)

Im planning to walk from Oct 14 - Nov 9th. Any suggestions on clothing? Do i need long sleeves and medium weight jacket? Or just a waterproof thin windbreaker would suffice.
thank you for sharing your packing list; how heavy is your pack with all the stuff? I notice you do not have sleeping bag/liner. Are u staying in private room?
My backpack was around 13 lbs without food and water. I forgot to list the sleeping bag. But I added it now :) We did stay in private rooms. But I like having a sleeping bag, they turned off the heat at night in most of the places we stayed at. So the sleeping bag really helped. But my sleeping bag is old and bulky, it took up half the backpack. I tried a liner in on my first Camino, which we also did October. It shifted too much while I was sleeping and it didn't keep me warm. It might be alright for the warmer months though.
Just curious - why windbreaker as well as the rain jacket? And which pack do you actually have - the 25l in the description, or the 36l you mentioned in the video?
Thank you for pointing that out :) It's a 36L backpack. Sorry for the typo. I fixed it now. And I really like the light windbreaker, because it was slightly breathable, very light and dried quickly. I was actually looking for something like a sun hoodie, but the closes thing I found was that windbreaker. It worked out for me though :)
Hi Mildred. Is it generally safe to walk alone as a female? As for the transport, can I have my stuff transported everyday? My only concern is I have mild scoliosis and might strain my back from carrying loads.
We walked with several female solo prilgrims that walked from St. Jean to Santiago. They stayed in albergues and donativos and didn't have any problems. The both finished safe and happy! As for bag transport, it is available all throughout the Camino Frances. All the Albergues and hostels we stayed in are familiar with the service. We used Jacotrans and Transporte and communicated through Whatsapp.

We like to travel in October/November because it's the least busiest time for our work. Also, we like the cooler weather and it's nice to travel when it's a bit off season.
Loved the video series. I section hiked from Pamplona to Logrono this past September. Doing the full Camino in 2024. Really struggling on prebooking accomodations as it will be in a busier time. Thoughts appreciated.
Buen Camino! I wish you the best in your Camino 2024 :). Some of the smaller towns don't have all the Albergues listed on booking.com. I used the Buen Camino App, it lists all the different Albergues and hostels in each town. I found that hosts very responsive when I emailed them directly. I tried my best to write to them in Spanish :) Hope that helps!

Luggage transports are available throughout the entire Camino. I met several women walking alone, all said they felt very safe throughout. Buen Camino
