- These are all the same courses (all of them) from my previous video, except at the 150cc speed/difficulty which opens up after you beat all the grand prix at 100cc. The added speed does make steering and keeping ahead of my opponents more difficult.

Just a heads up, whatever blurring filter you're using on whatever emulator you're using looks terribad. No clue why you would opt for something like that.
Lol this is a very funny comment. I went and checked your channel out. Your videos that are 7 years old look to be uploaded in 360p/480p that, when blown up on even my phone, look "terribad". You took a break but even 4 years ago I saw some Mario RPG videos that are 720p (and 30 fps when RUclips was definitely doing 60fps by then) and scaling the 240p game using bilinear filtering, making the gameplay look very soft and, in my opinion, "terribad". This is probably because you were using a real SNES, so you didn't have many options for scaling at the time. However, more bizarrely, you opted to fill the blank space on the sides with a slew of distracting animated gifs which make trying to watch the poorly scaled gameplay an objectively awful experience.
Now, I can use some common sense and realize that was years ago. You were probably just trying things out and RUclips was going through some resolution and framerate evolutions. You probably don't like the animated gif thing you were doing either, at least I hope so. I don't think it would be a useful heads up for me to tell you a 7, 6, or 4 year old video you made looks "terribad". What would be the point except to be mean spirited and try to discourage you? Do you want to be known as someone who does that?
I believe everyone is welcome to their opinion, but no clue why you would opt to thinly disguise being rude as some useful criticism unless you get off on it somehow. Especially when your videos that are as old as this one look the way they do. Weird! But funny. Thank you for your heads up.

The idea that a player this good barely beating the CPU’s in 150cc with no mistakes really shows how hard this game is
I swear on 50cc on my SNES classic i always drift at every turn even when its not a steep turn. and that always ends in me going in 2nd place and peach surpassing me.
and the game is medium hard. its very hard for me to turn on some turns. i hate the castle course.
This guy sucks. He isn't even power sliding.
64 was a breeze compared.
Mario Kart 64 is harder to me in comparison to this, unless you're thinking about Special Cup.

You have no idea how hard this game is until you play it for yourself. Shoddy controls, 1993 graphics, op coms, and it sliding takes A LOT of practice and finesse. Not that this is a bad game, it just makes me hella thankful for the games we have today
I actually like Super Mario Kart way better than the newer Mario Kart games simply because it has just the perfect level of difficulty in my opinion

This was a legendary game and still is. The magic of this game is its level of difficulty. Commit a mistake and you're punished. Master the game, you are well rewarded!

I almost always was Koopa Troopa. Lots of memories of playing this from about 1993 to 2000 or so. Hell, even my old man would play it.

@@ramz16k or they could have a converter for the Super Nintendo. I purchased one from amazon that converts it to the tv with a hdmi and I was completely shocked at the video quality now. Love it!
Hey just wanted to pop in here and say thanks. I'm glad you don't think it looks "terribad". I was using the BizHawk emulator and applied the (I think) HQ3X filter in Virtual Dub. Some people REALLY don't like the use of filters. I don't use them anymore, but they never bothered me. Thanks for the nice comment!
Ahh that menu theme!!! My childhood!!! I always used to quite like driving as Donkey Kong, his kart sounded like it was a diesel engine hahahah! I don't know if any character driver was better than another though.

Amazing playthrough! Being in 1st position, you even tried not to harm the other competitors, having with yours red shells, to hit and make them reach in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th place. You have all my respect!

Year 2000, 7yo me, my older brother 11yo and his best friend sneaking into the living room in the middle of the night after our parents went to sleep and playing this. I'm not crying.
Epic battles on this game back in the day with an old mate. The first time I beat him on special cup. Level on points going in to rainbow Road on the last straight I used a speed up mushroom to bash him off the edge and win!!!!! Result!

I had to look this up because I was feeling nostalgic. I remember playing this with my dad and brother when I was a kid. Pretty sure I sucked and had absolutely no clue what was going on but I still remember the courses and just the music brings me back every time
So glad I thought of looking for this. Me n four mates formed a league. Playing this for hours stoned out of our minds n listening to early Rush n Floyd. My favourite game of all time. Not much of a gamer. I also have cool memories of Jet Set Willy on the Amstrad CPC464. Time flies. I'm now 43. Cheers for uploading this. 😁
When they released this game on the 3ds it disappointed the shit right out of me, if they developed a remastered version that literally split the screen into two, it would sweet

😢 Will never forget playing this as a kid, I think I got it In 93-94. I use to play with Toad. Wow completely forgot it has this many maps, the toughest ones is in the Star Cup, my favorite was the colorful track in the Special Cup 41:40

Super Mario Kart on SNES is from 1992 not 97. You might be thinking of Mario Kart 64.

I used to adore this game, so I know it inside out. I have to say, your 150cc seems a little slow and easy. No power starts and no power slides either. I used to be able to start with a power start and then slide throughout the whole of the Mushroom Cup courses without using the brake once, or at least very little. Maybe I just remember it being harder, but I'm sure 150cc used to be pretty furious.

@@MrSmid888 That was a myth about this game. You need to drift for optimal performance and the tightest turns. Hopping around turns is a good way to lose control, especially as a speed character.
Punchy Primeape Drifting loses to bouncing FACT. If your drifting you ain’t going forward. Bouncing you are.

Nostalgia. Crazy looking back at the original game, 150cc was unlockable. That difficulty, I play that ALL THE TIME in any Mario Kart. But watch out in Special Cup. THAT is when it gets pretty difficult.

Rainbow Road made me cry enraged the first time I played, at my 9. Damn, I got pushed by Donkey Kong Jr. to the abysm and lost the championship, then the Game Over tune started to sound!
This game alone defined the kart genre such a classic still one of my favorites today.

We never got a trophy of Mario's head again.
The order of the finish in the first race use to be same for all the others. That used to piss me off, I don't why know when I was younger lol
I beat the 150cc level as Koopa also, but not finishing first in each race. I think I had 4 extra lives going into Rainbow Bridge and only finished 4th in my last race to win the trophy only because Bowser rear-ended the kart across the finish line
You only get a Mario trophy for the insane trouble of 150cc. I always thought the ending sucked because its the same thing. I guess what should I expect for an ending on a racing game. I guess I was expecting a smw ending.

They are using an emulator with anti aliasing which removes the jagged lines.

I'm not sure about the validity of your playthrough. Those computer players are usually way faster and more aggressive on 150cc.
The only cheating I do is spamming savestates any time I make a mistake. I don't do any Game Genie or Game Shark codes, they desync the video when played back for capturing the video in the emulator anyway.
Oh I see. Plus I couldn't imagine anyone winning 150cc without drifting. You pretty much have to master tight turns in every Mario Kart game to stand a chance at getting 1st in every track.
Yeah, and the SNES Mario Kart is the slipperiest one of them all. I basically just savestate every 10 seconds or so so I have a quick rewind anytime I mess up. I'm sure I had a few hundred savestates on this one.
I remember when i was a kid i could play through this game on my snes no problem. Now i rebought a snes and this game and i SUCK! LOL cant get through that first special stage on 150cc that fucking bridge always gets me can never get the jump in that gap right 😂😂
