Sans wouldn’t probably sound like a dunce. Instead of talking slow, he would talk quite faster. With a firm, average, American English accent. Imagine sans as Patrick but just talking faster and normally instead of slow.

While it does sound incredibly similar, Sans's voice is actually sourced from a radiation meter. The clicks were just slowed drastically.

Funny to think that, but if you look at the waveform in a sound editor, the Patrick's voice it's closer to the shape of Sans' voice clip than the radiation meter. Maybe he just wanted to make it sound similar to the Geiger meter but without having a source for the clicking sounds used Patrick's voice instead because "why not?". Something really fitting to Fox's way of making things if you ask to me.

I do have a theory why...
The screen looks so similar to an iPhone (size, notch shape, even surrounding color) that it doesn't get much attention for having an immediately different look.
But with 32 GB storage without an SD Card and 4 GB RAM (for comparison, MANY iPhones including 8, 9, X series, only have 3 GB RAM), the G7 is one powerful android competitor to the iPhone, even while being under $300

Its the same pitch. Sans was just put through some filters so it sounds more cheap/telephony
I dont think its pitch, but just cleaner sounding and higher treble.
Sans is filtered to sound higher quality, while also being louder and having fade in to sound more natural.
There definitely is an effect applied on the Sans one.

Someone should ask Toby Fox if he used that Patrick voice clip for Sans. That way this can truly be confirmed.
Mmm probably not, if he did, knowing how stingy Viacom is, they’ll likely have a “strongly worded” letter sent to Mr. Fox’s home about it. Yeah, it’s just a single frame sound that has filters and a fade, but using assets from an IP even a sample from a voice clip without permission is technically against the law. Flowey’s Theme is fair use because it’s not the exact F.U.N song melody in toe. Probably is why he hasn’t commented on this. He could be sued or forced to remove the audio.

I think the difference in sounds is due to how the human vocal tract works. Essentially, sans is replicating an "ee" sound, which is closed vowel, compared to Patrick's "ay" which is an open vowel. These differences in vowel type makes sans sound that tiny bit higher in pitch.

I think the reason why it sounds different is because the Patrick sample people are taking isn’t *exactly* where Sans’ sample comes from. It could be a split second before or after, but still. Also, I see people writing about how they think Sans’ could have an effect added, but I personally just think it’s some EQ stuff.
