Flew in and out of Wilson back in the early 80s from Zaire to boarding school. Also my brother a caravan for AirServe in 93 Nairobi to Wajir and other places.
I am currently a glider pilot. I'm 15. Very soon now I will be going for my private pilots license as I have wanted to be a pilot all my life. I just didn't know what kind. I've always been an outdoors person and loved adventure, so naturally I have always wanted to be a bush pilot. Always. I have been aerial-dormant for awhile, but watching this video excited me even more and got me up off my ass and to start finishing up my Eagle stuff so I can start on powered aircraft, go to a bush academy, and fly in the bush. Thank you.
Great scenery! Nice G1000! I noticed you started the taxi and TO with the inertial separator bypassed. But before you got airborne (at 4:32) the separator was locked. I understand that you bypass it to prevent sand getting into the inlet on the dusty rwy. Do you lock it before you're in the air? I know there's a significant power loss with separator bypassed, but I can't figure out when it's the right time to lock it. I also saw a cockpit vid of a SusiAir pilot flying in Papua. He took off from a concrete rwy with the separator bypassed and locked it several minutes later. That's a bit confusing... What's the real deal on this?
Funny how "Africa" is used in the title as a general place or "country". The editor does not acknowledge or don't know that there are 54 different countries on the continent of Africa. This flight and data suggest that it may be in Kenia, a country in Africa.
02:29 - Would never let you fly my plane. That is not an electronic or digital control. It's a direct pushrod mechanism to the prop pitch governor, which is oil activated. Yanking the prop lever like that forces oil into the governor at high pressure and speed. The governor will fail eventually due to that unnecessary treatment.
Yeah don’t worry he doesn’t need to fly your plane. The pilot in this video owns more planes than you will ever have including the caravan in this video :).

Christian, well done with Yellow wings. You are a super guy, keep it up....

Looking good and that's just how I know flying in Africa to be. I do miss it so!

Very rough indeed
Why did you not pull the gear the entire flight?
