I'm glad I was born in '84. I grew up at the beginning of MK, Street Fighter, Doom, pretty much every Genre in gaming(FPS, Sports, RPG, ect), I've been there since the beginning pretty much. It's awesome to see how games have evolved from the Atari/NES days.
Amo tu video, es bonito recordar las versiones anteriores de tu videojuego fav. Y ahora dejamos de lado a Mortal Kombat 9 y le damos la bienvenida a Mortal Kombat X, ya listo y contando los dias :).
They could have at least made the fights interesting. Every single one looks like it was played by that one person everybody hates playing with because they spam the same attacks over and over until they win.
I don't like the game play either because it reminds me of whenever me and my little brother play budokia 3 PlayStation 2. but i bet just did that to get easy wins and get fast gameplay
Just bussines man...MK team had been bought by Warner Bros who also own DC...just a way to boost both franchises, and to let the MK studios,Netherrealm, experience for the upcoming MK9 and injustice...anyway MK vs DC sold very well
Well ya see, Marvel vs Capcom, which started out as Street Fighter vs X-Men, was popular so WB decided to do the same thing with the things they had. Besides, because it happened we now have Injustice, so it all worked out.
I remember playing the first and second MK's in the arcade. Liu Kang, Reptile, and Raiden all day every day. These videos brought back memories, but they don't show any of the coolest scenes or moves.
This brings a flood of VERY VERY good childhood memories that I'll cherish forever! I only got into MK five years after the first release when I was 9 and that's the one I started with. Soon after that I got into the rest of them and MK 2 was the one I played more than the others,on my Game Boy Pocket....90s KID!
there were more characters in ultimate mk3 (jade, mileena, kitana, reptile, scorpion, ermac and ninja sub-zero), it was faster (maybe not faster but smoother), it had more fighting areas and you had the options of playing 2-on-2 and 8 player tournaments
They're never killed off to begin with, they're only killed in "versus" matches... As for story, they don't. They'll be beaten up to death, but won't die.

Holy shit I used to love this game when I was younger... When the other eight year olds played with barbies and I played Mortal Kombat I remember the stadium at 12:30
Hana Li Holy shit, man, you too? :D This brings back serious memories. I remember playing with my older brothers and then getting in trouble with my mom XD
Don't get me wrong, this is just my opinion and I didn't play every single MK game... but MK1, MK2, MK3 are all between perfect and good... Mortal Kombat (2011) is excellent. All the other games are between crap to maaah...
Man you could always try emulating it. Shaolin Monks is a very underrated game, it's really tons of fun and it's also challenging unlike most games like that.
The ones you played were good, the ones you didn't play are crap......that makes a whole fucking lot of sense. How does this guy have so many thumbs up? God!
Wow those scenes of mk1 bring back mad memories of my Sega Genesis days. After 20 years this game is still getting better. MK will live forever weather ppl like it or not.....
its kind of dumb in my opinion but they consider mk vs dc to be mk8 instead of its own spinoff so the reboot was mk 9 and mkx ("ex" confirmed by ed boon) is mk 10
I played very little MK when I was a kid, but I of course knew what it was, but now I love it. I think I played old ones at peoples houses, but never owned any games myself. The thing is, the 3d Mortal Kombats don't look as appealing to me. I currently own MK collection on xbox and MK 2011. Love MK 9 Glad MK X is going to be 2d fighting.
i been playing mortal kombat since i was 4 years old i won my first tournament when i was 13 and i still play mk1-3 now that im 25 and am ranked 3 in the u.s on xbox live this will forever be the best game ever made till the day i die
I hope they never bring back those corny ass post-Trilogy characters like Li Mei and Dairou. So terrible. The only decent post MK Trilogy characters imo are Quan Chi and Kenshi. That's it really.
Pshaw, Li Mei and Frost are amazing! Besides they already brought post-trilogy characters back. Havik and Fujin appear in endings for example. Deal with it.
Richard Shiflett Amazing my ass, those were characters created when Boon was in the doldrums of poor sales and out of ideas. I mean Frost, really? As for them appearing in endings, that's fine so long as that's where they stay is cameos. There is a reason their asses were left out in MK9, because they are awful designs.
manrightchea I kinda have to agree. Kenshi is a great character and Quan Chi plays his part in the story, but many of the other characters were horrible. Like Kobra, Moloch, Mokap, Dairou, etc. I think Frost had some potential (and still has), but she was never used right, same goes for Ashrah, Reiko, Shinnok and Fujin imo. I think the clusterfuck accumulated in Armageddon. If you can't hold up the quality of the characters, don't try to make up for that in quantity. After that, they gave us MK1, 2 & 3 in the form of MK9, which was great, but it's time for something new now. I've been saying this for a while, in MK10, they really need to come up with some brand new characters AND write a new storyline. Leave out all this crap about the Realm of this and the Realm of that and focus on earth and outworld. I also think some (or many) of the old characters should be re-imagined. This might be risky, as they've become so standard, but I think it could be done. There are some great designs out there. Mortal Kombat 10 should try to capture that eerie, dark, mysterious feel that the first games had and was lost after that (in my opinion). I can't put my finger on what it was that made the original 3 games stand out, maybe it was just the experience I had as a kid, or maybe some horror-elements in the games, the music or settings, I don't now, but I want that back. Sorry for the lengthy response lol.
To be fair many characters were dead by the end of Deception. They only brought everyone, even long dead and forgotten characters, back because Midway was kinda in bad financial straits and Netherrealm thought this would be the last fighting MK game ever.
No fatalities shown No good combos shown No multiple characters shown No year next to when the game was real ease Gameplay looks like a 3 year old just picked up a controller. Please don't make anymore of these
I was expecting a history lesson detailing the stories of the entire series. What I got instead was 1 fight from each game; fights that weren't compelling, didn't even all feature fatalities, and didn't show off all of the specific features of the individual games. It's basically just a graphics compare/contrast video. Useless lazy content.

20 years of memories. I remember playing this game in the arcade. My favorite characters to play were Sonya Blade and Kitana. However by the time MK 3 came out Sindel became my favorite.
DukeNukem2020 I didn’t even exist in 1984 lol
Tofig thanks video, great job :)
Really? Just some mediocre gameplay? I thought this would be like a mini-documentary.
Go to Mortal Kombat secrets' channel then find history of mortal kombat
Me too
Unpopular Opinion: Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance has and always be my all time favorite MK game.
Mortal Kombat Tournament Edition was probably the most broken game there ever was LMAO
Im just reading some comments in this video and I did not expect to c urs lmao btw love dem videos bro
Thanks man
Sorry, but Mortal Kombat Advance has it beat.

Finishellent!
Falls off a tower...explodes...flawless victory...ROUND 2!
Lmfao, Mortal Kombat logic.
They could have at least made the fights interesting. Every single one looks like it was played by that one person everybody hates playing with because they spam the same attacks over and over until they win.
So true, the sub zero gameplay was about to piss me off and I wasn't even playing.
H.
I don't like the game play either because it reminds me of whenever me and my little brother play budokia 3 PlayStation 2. but i bet just did that to get easy wins and get fast gameplay
+reggie amith Whoever it is, they ain't very good at Mortal Kombat.
10:10 Oh I love that stage....Such good music and a really nice concept!
Now thinking back why did MK vs DC even get made? such a weird combo!
Just bussines man...MK team had been bought by Warner Bros who also own DC...just a way to boost both franchises, and to let the MK studios,Netherrealm, experience for the upcoming MK9 and injustice...anyway MK vs DC sold very well
***** Shazam!!!
Fatalities suck except Jokers
Well ya see, Marvel vs Capcom, which started out as Street Fighter vs X-Men, was popular so WB decided to do the same thing with the things they had. Besides, because it happened we now have Injustice, so it all worked out.
Kombo
Thx for the time stamps you guys:)
I remember playing the first and second MK's in the arcade. Liu Kang, Reptile, and Raiden all day every day. These videos brought back memories, but they don't show any of the coolest scenes or moves.
I just wrote a paper on fighting games. I was 13 when MK came out. Ah, memories.
This brings a flood of VERY VERY good childhood memories that I'll cherish forever! I only got into MK five years after the first release when I was 9 and that's the one I started with. #1 Mortal Kombat Trilogy ♥
#2 Mortal Kombat 9
#3 Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
#4 Mortal Kombat 3
#5 Mortal Kombat (original)
What's the difference between ultimate mk3 and mk3
there were more characters in ultimate mk3 (jade, mileena, kitana, reptile, scorpion, ermac and ninja sub-zero), it was faster (maybe not faster but smoother), it had more fighting areas and you had the options of playing 2-on-2 and 8 player tournaments
Agreed +1
Yeah, I can agree with 1,3, and Trilogy being my favorite MK games of all time.
UniZebra AMEN I TOTALLY ARGREE I CANT WAIT FOR MKX
It so funny how this characters die in one series and live again in another.
They're never killed off to begin with, they're only killed in "versus" matches... As for story, they don't. They'll be beaten up to death, but won't die.
In mk9 they got they're asses killed...well most of em.
psalm brigole some might be brought back to life
Welp in mkx they most of em serve quan chi now... even subby ):
psalm brigole I think that's a different Sub Zero
Would be a better video if he'd explain the changes and improvements.
I see your point
MK4 brings some primary school memories on a Win 95/98 PC in a computer lab. Those were the days hahaha! 😂

Armageddon was my favorite, if I can recall you could make YOUR OWN character!!
Mortal Kombat Mythologies? ? Special Forces? ? what were they thinking? 0.o !!!
Great compilation!
MK, MKII, Trilogy and MK 2011 *-*
***** They would take up way too much memory that the ps2 or xbox didnt have for all those characters in mka
The Mortal Kombat 2011 is actually Mortal Kombat 9
Those MK games from the 90s look just as good as the latest MK9. This is amazing!
Don't think the guy who made this knows that you can actually block in these games.
Kountered... love it. It really 'kreates' atmosphere
Don't get me wrong, this is just my opinion and I didn't play every single MK game... but MK1, MK2, MK3 are all between perfect and good... Mortal Kombat (2011) is excellent. All the other games are between crap to maaah...
Deadly Alliance was decent and Shaolin Monks is a great game IMO : )

Damn MK is one of the best games...
Liu Kang sounds like mickey mouse xD

Wow those scenes of mk1 bring back mad memories of my Sega Genesis days. After 20 years this game is still getting better. MK will live forever weather ppl like it or not.....
Mortal Kombat Armageddon Is the best game ever. in Ps2
I agree! It's the best.
really I find that game the worst from the series
Luis Rodriguez Armageddon is the best MK game ever
MUY BUENOS TUS VIDEOS, para cuando un HISTORY OF soul calibur
Then comes Mortal Kombat X (Mortal Kombat 9) that is coming out in 2015.
No mortal kombat 9 is already out! X is 10 you silly goose
It's actually Mortal Kombat X. Pronounced Ex, Boon said it
its kind of dumb in my opinion but they consider mk vs dc to be mk8 instead of its own spinoff
so the reboot was mk 9 and mkx ("ex" confirmed by ed boon) is mk 10
x is roman numarals for 10 for it to be 9 it would be IX
pewds brow Yes X=10 and IX=9
Ultimate Mortal kombat 3 was the first game I played and it is sure the best!!! Brings back so many memorize!
The ones I recommend Mortal Kombat Trilogy MK9 and probaly X
I played very little MK when I was a kid, but I of course knew what it was, but now I love it. I think I played old ones at peoples houses, but never owned any games myself.

Glad MK X is going to be 2d fighting.
Yeah except they got rid of like everyone
This was uploaded on meh b-day. Happy belated birthday to me:3
Mortal Kombat: Special Forces=EPIC FAIL
Armageddon is the best
You can create you're fighter , it has a lot of fighters/characters
And there ia a story mode to.
Did You Just Realize That Deception Is ..... Kinda Emulated?
Gggdbgghhhffff&2shhfdddg
so was UMK3, MK Special Forces, Deadly Alliance and Unchained
It's crazy how much this game has changed just from 2008-2011. Can't wait to see what the next one has to offer.
14:24 BOOYYYYAAAA OOOHHHHMMMMMAAAIIIIIIGGGGOOOOODDDDDDD BBOOOYA BBBBOOOOOYYYYAAAAA!!!!

You missed out Mortal Kombat Gold
Actually, the footage from MK4 in this video is REALLY from MKGold. (Baraka was one of the added characters in MKG that wasn't in MK4)
Well that explains the better resolution on Baraka then
i been playing mortal kombat since i was 4 years old i won my first tournament when i was 13 and i still play mk1-3 now that im 25 and am ranked 3 in the u.s on xbox live this will forever be the best game ever made till the day i die
deadly alliance was the best mk i played
I remember the hours I would put in on Mortal Kombat deception. Running through the Nether Realms for hours.
Special Forces looks really dumb.
It's amazing to see how much the graphics changed in just 21 years!
первые части на сеге супер с МК4 фигня пошла самые зачетные первые, и спасибо за фаталити* хоть и мало и одно бруталити*.
согласен
Но мк4 так себе норм кстати он и на пк доступен!!
THIS IS AWESOME !!!!
Let's just admit DC Universe VS Mortal Kombat is the worst one yet.
Bring back Shaoling Monks,it was so fun going through the game with your friend by your side
why not fatalities! damn!
its been wonderful since past years.hats off!!!
I hope they never bring back those corny ass post-Trilogy characters like Li Mei and Dairou. So terrible. The only decent post MK Trilogy characters imo are Quan Chi and Kenshi. That's it really.

what about mortal kombat gold??? and when is ed boon going to make a Sholin monks 2???
My Child Hood :D
what this is violent game
MKII has been my favorite since I was five years old. Love MK!
You forgot mirtal kombat x that's coming out
Mortal* the video was uploaded in 2013 mk x didn't exist
Oh
No this video was made in 2014 so mkx does exist
Jason P But before it was announced
Jason P are you really that dumb?
Le jugue a todos los mortal kombat pero me quedo con el clasico 1 y 2!!
No fatalities shown
No good combos shown
No multiple characters shown
No year next to when the game was real ease
Gameplay looks like a 3 year old just picked up a controller.
Please don't make anymore of these
Hariskillsstuff hahahaha , true. :D
Hariskillsstuff I doubt you could make a better video.
Yeah i agree fuck machinma i thought this was mk history as in the story
Yea I know looks like 3 year old picked up a controller
19:16 actually watch the video next time
The first MK and MK Trilogy will always be the most notable to me. Played those things to oblivion everyday after school.
I was expecting a history lesson detailing the stories of the entire series. Every MK game is better than the previous. MK just keeps getting better and better, that simple. :D
Borislav Ignatov Nah Mk3 was nowhere near as good as MK2, and MK4 was nowhere near as good as MK3.

Pretty good little overview, but could've shown some of the new mechanics they used in the different games e.g. Kreate-A-Fatality and the X-ray move
Nice one

I like all of the arcade classics, Deception, Unchained(PSP version of Deception), and MK 9. I cannot wait for Mortal Kombat X
I gave it a thumbs up and it was cool and all, but I would've liked to have seen the fatalities for each victory instead of just a few.
I played Shaolin Monks and the graphics where awesome but now...
Thats Great!
I loved Mortal Kombat Shoalin Monks sooo much, espessially when you played it in co-op with a friend
The ones I loved were
1 mk9
2 mk trilogy
3mk 3
4 ultimate mk
5 deadly alliance
But hey question wheres mk gold
It would be neat if this video at least showed the character selection screens for each game, some narration, and fatalities
I remember playing Mortal Kombat 3 back when I was young when I was a little kid. The first Mortal Kombat I personally owned was Deadly Alliance.
I like all the mortal kombats
*My* Top 10 List (1 being best, 10 being eh [becuase quite frankly I love them all]):
01 - Mortal Kombat: Unchained / Deception - _The first games I ever got into and love to this day. The character selection is one of the most unique out of any of the other games and besides Deadly Alliance has the best arenas, ever... which need to be brough back._
02 - Mortal Kombat Gold / 4 - _The graphics for these two are outstandingly retro and just look REALLY REALLY cool... I don't know what it is but the really crappy shadows and blocky character models are really interesting to me._
03 - Mortal Kombat: Armageddon - _Has almost every single character in the franchise and the few that don't make it are easily made in Kreate a Fighter, which I really hope appears in one of the next few installments of MK_.
04 - Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance - _One of the absolute best. The Krypt REALLY makes you work for the characters, arenas, and the Konquest mode is undeniably like a little tutorial to help you with EACH character... really cool. Also has the best arena concepts and designs out of any of the games._
05 - Mortal Kombat Trilogy / Ultimate 3 / 3 - _Disregarding the original third installment (which is on here as it is basically just a lower version of Trilogy and UMK3), these games are challenging but very fun to play, and don't get old fast._
06 - Mortal Kombat (2011) - _Gets boring rather quickly but graphics style, combos, and classic character roster make up for it a lot._
07 - Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition / Deadly Alliance [GBA] - _The roster for this is so convoluted that I love it (TE), and they feel of them on a GBA is pretty amazing in my opinion._
08 - Mortal Kombat II - _The AI was atrocious, but the game itself was amazing and has very retro graphics that I enjoy._
09 - Mortal Kombat (1992) - _The original, classics in my opinion just have very cool graphic styles._
10 - Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks - _This one is actually rather interesting. The story is pretty good and I liked the approach they went with it - also the versus mode was AMAZING and I hope something along the lines of it comes back._
Jeeeee! Very Good! :)
I'm so happy that the animations are so stream line now compared to back in the day. I can't believe I actually used to enjoy playing those abominations.
My Favorite one was Mortal Kombat Trilogy
