Thanks! I'll put this on my list for when businesses begin to re-open. I love the downtown area -- lots of fun antiquing. Have you seen my vid on the HMB Pumpkin Festival? That was also fun and features some shots around downtown.
Hi joephs! Thanks for your comments and hope you enjoy the hike! :) I'll assume here you mean the creamy New England style white clam chowder. Yes, Sam's is touristy and my main gripe has to do with the $$$ to food quality. However, the clam chowder is decent and it should be since that's their signature dish! Depends on what you like in a chowder but theirs tends to a thinner consistency with chunks of veggies in it. Their cup is about $10 but it's also the bowl size of other joints. My favorite is Half Moon Bay Brewery which is along the second half of the hike/walk. It's way thicker/creamier and nicely seasoned. They also tend to be expensive and a cup will set you back $7. For a cheap cup (~$5) try either Ketch Joanne for a solid but basic chowder or Barbara's Fishtrap (cash only and my one note is the texture is more starchy than creamy). Not a comprehensive list :)
Zeene InRealLife Thx n yw. Have tried HMBB chow and it is good. Will try Ketch next time. Love our Cali backyard, so refreshing. Lots of hidden gems but never enough time. Thx again for your recommendations :)
Yes me too! My one goal is to get people to explore beyond SF as there are so many awesome places both north and south of the city as well. Sounds like you are very familiar with HMB so perhaps I should be asking you for recos ;)
Zeene InRealLife I highly doubt it. My time spent in the past @ HMB was along the Jetty for fishing. These days I find myself driving up and down highway 1 just for the views. Favorite spots are Pescadero point and as of late, Montara beach just before the sun breaks the clouds. No camera on Earth can capture the views better than the naked eye.
Thanks for sharing
I used to spend some time in Half Moon Bay. Your video is fun and nostalgic! Do one of the downtown area!

I've not checked out Montara Beach and will have to put that on my list for my next jaunt out there! 👍
