I wasn't surprised when you said who his dad was... Could see it straight away but when he walked out to the round pen you can really see the way he holds his head, the look on his face and even his ears look similar to his famous dad! He looks like he's going to be an absolute star in the future. So glad he is in such kind thoughtful hands expecially after everything he's been through so young.
Love this video. My favourite one so far of yours. Love to see how you deal with a green horse and it will be great to see his progress. You’re an amazing rider and very calm and patient. More of these types 👏
What a lovely clinic on how to approach a horse who needs the guidance of a skilled rider emitting positive energy who understands how to build the animal's natural confidence. I think both horse and rider had a great experience for a first ride together and I look forward to watching his progress over time. This was a really good one, Guys!
He is such a nice type of horse and looks like he has loads of potential. Even in that short time he looked more relaxed and was starting to understand what you were asking of him. He has such a nice face and kind eye. Very enjoyable vlog and look forward to seeing his progress ❤
I love this type of vlog. Thank you so much for choosing to put it ‘out there’. It’s so interesting and helpful. What a flippin’ stunning horse. Absolutely my type. So ‘baroque’ in his build, head well set on - just gorgeous short coupled chunky strong looking horse. Love him. Can’t wait to watch his journey with you.
Please please video his progression. I have struggled with confidence on my 4 year old as he can nap and throw his head up too. It takes courage to ignore the bad behaviour and keep riding forward. I put my brave knickers on each day to ride him! I love that this video shows others with the same issues and how you fix them. Thanks again. 😊
I LOVE all of your videos! Just found out your channel last week and watched them all now. Love the ‘keeping it real’ approach very much and I think you’re both wonderful people. ❤️
Uno is gorgeous. I love your training style, Henry. The difference in Uno from when he tentatively entered the arena to his subsequent demeanour was huge. Also, it takes courage for someone to ask for help (kudos to Uno's owner). Uno's owner must have also placed great trust in you, Henry - which is obviously well-deserved. You sussed out Uno's needs so quickly & Uno responded to you accordingly. I look forward to seeing his progress. Great filming India🎉
Thank You so much. I have found with my own horses that training is the most rewarding experience with them and myself. I love watching how other people also train and assess..
I love the way you have been extremely supportive with him, letting him find his own balance, and pace. Being of work is going to make him weak in the back end so he will need to be built up. He is in good hands, so by the time he goes back home he will be in great shape and he will handle so much better
What a stunning horse -- I love the natural arch/carriage he has in his neck. So lucky for him that his owner went above and beyond to save him :) Excellent video, assessing Uno were he is starting at with you, and good explanations on why you are doing what you're doing with him and what you will be doing given what you've found. Interesting discussion and elaboration about what a "short-coupled" horse is the "danger" to try and put them in a frame too soon, before he has properly developed strength and working through his body from the rear -- all takes time and development along with the individual nature of each horse. Clearly Uno is a horse who prefers a light touch. Thank you so much for such a great bunch of points. Very much looking forward to watching Uno develop with you. And kudos to you for braving the naysayers who think perfect arrives from the start.
Super Video - really enjoyed seeing you taking your first steps with a new horse. Haylage Poisoning sounded really traumatic. I like the way you show the building blocks of your framework and how you are taking your time with him. Be interested to see how he is at the end of the November.
Super video really enjoyed it, thank you for letting us all follow u. Uno looks stunning can’t wait to see him progress. Henry u are such a beautiful quiet rider 😊
Excellent giving the horse the confidence to go forward and not hold him back was the main problem here You let him find himself and guide him without worrying or nagging Well done exactly what he needs
Thank you so much for creating this vlog guys. 😁Definitely my new favourite RUclips channel! 🥰I really enjoyed this video! Yes, please keep showing us in real time, REAL training sessions, there is much to learn here, many things us riders may face. (Horse ownership, riding and training is not always pretty, and with the highs, there is certainly lows…)Thank you.💗 I am also loving all the varied content to date, and all the behind the scenes footage. See you in the next video! You guys are amazing 🤩
Loved this video. As someone who has really enjoyed in the past starting youngsters and seeing the reward that they give you this video was lovely to watch. He’s a lovely boy with a powerful engine , I’m betting his medium/extended trot and canter is going to be awesome once he understands to control his power! Really nicely and sensitively ridden, great video to see. Looking forward to his progress !
Thank you for sharing it was informative and helpful to see how you handled the minor snaffus He’s getting a good start back after his long illness and I’m grateful you shared it
You guys are really bringing it! Looked to me like the way you worked him was exactly what he needed from you! You could see his confidence build and how happy he was at the end of your session. Very educational video!
Fabulous content. Thank you for being brave enough to show what real life training looks like- not just the flashy finished product. Looking forward to watching his progress. India your comments are often exactly what I’m thinking 😂
Thanks for sharing. This is exactly what the community needs- how to start and progress horses in the right way, always putting the horse first. Just a question on why you’re riding him in spurs?
Really enjoyed this one, Henry and Indi. Thanks so much for allowing us to come on the journey of this horse 😊😊🌼. Lovely type, he just seems unsure with the contact /connection 😊
Loved the video and look g forward to his progress ❤. Indy, you’re so funny. I’m with you when you called Henry a brave man. And I agree that there is difference with professionals who have ridden different horses for years and like me and you, want to take the safe route because weren’t not experienced enough to know how to react. Love you guys and the videos ❤ You’re doing great !!!!
Really enjoyed this video, he's a super horse and I'm sure he will do well with your calm and gentle guidance. looking forward to seeing his progress with you.
Love this!! Such an educational and helpful video! Great to see how to handle a young/green horse in these situations and loved your approach from start to finish. Look forward to watching some more of how he’s getting on! Thanks for sharing! 🙏🏽
I particularly loved this video as I have a very big horse that having changed from one state to another freaked him out a bit and he did all of these things to start once he started to settle and was even rideable ie snatching a bit, not always happy to go forwards and accept the contact and less happy to maintain canter . So I was really happy to see how you dealt with it. Great job🤩. My horse is going pretty well now but I still liked to see how your focus was just forwards.
Such an interesting and educational video! Would love to see more like this ❤ definitely points that I can take away to use with my own. Honest content like this is very refreshing and much appreciated! Would love to know more about Uno’s story as well, I nearly lost my boy to steroid induced laminitis last year and I am just at the stage of bringing him back into work again so looking forward to following this 😊
Great riding Henry lovely horse looking forward to watching his progress, can you talk about how he is in your hand and straightness as you go along and if your legs feel even around his ribcage I would find this really interesting 👏
Well done. How many lessons do you have with the owner riding the horse after training with only the horse? Both need to work in harmony and not undo you hard work.
His owner will definitely come and have some training as we progress so that when she takes him home she has a plan in place to progress confidently! 😊
I really like this horse. He is my type and l can see the mistakes l made in the past with my own boy in this video. I really want to ask about the use of your spur, to me it looks constant but l am asking to learn not judge so please don't attack me in the comments.
@@keiraarthur1855 I don’t mind the question - in fact I agree In hindsight I should have taken them off. I had them on from my previous ride, Uno doesn’t think forwards yet so I was having to be a little busy to encourage (as lightly as I possibly could) his forward momentum! 😊
