    Ya, I grew up in the Wiggins, Fort Morgan, Brush area for over 15 years. To be fair, there really isn't a whole lot out in that area on the surface, but there are still some neat places. It's definitely a farming and ranching country. In Fort Morgan, they have a skydiving place called "Skydive orange skies" if you take Main Street to the north. You go past the swimming pool and the park and Rainbow bridge and follow that out. There are some pretty good restaurants on the south side of Fort Morgan like Cables, Chef's Da, Acapulco Bay, and Santiago's off of Platte Ave. But Maveriks Adventure Stop next door to the Hampton has some good breakfast food in the hot bar that I highly recommend next time you're in town or probably any maveriks. They've got breakfast bowls, breakfast burritos, breakfast pizzas. Oh, also, Peppy's Coffee next door to the Hampton is fantastic and arguably better than the Starbucks. One other place I recommend is Ben's Brick Oven Pizza or the Pepper Pod. They are both by the Love's at the Hudson exit on I-76, I think like exit 30 or 31. Rocky Mountain winters are no joke. Ive driven those roads and that stretch of I-70 many times and its not for the faint of heart.

    I’ve been on the fence about jumping on the EV bandwagon for a long while now. It’s a cool video. However, tbh, it made me even more hesitant than before… it’s a constant anxiety of reaching to the next charging station on battery fumes (~5%) , every 2 hours you’re forced to idle for at least 30 minutes or more which drags the trip much longer (sometimes you just want to arrive). I like the concept of daily commute savings but I won’t buy such an expensive vehicle that cannot handle reasonably (in my eyes) the occasional long road trips.

    • @vegasteslafamily
      @vegasteslafamily  3 месяца назад +2

      I’d argue it more than reasonably handles it. Driver fatigue is non-existent thanks to autopilot. Unless you have an iron bladder, we’re usually stopping every 2-3 hours anyway for restroom or food

    • @vegasteslafamily
      @vegasteslafamily  Месяц назад +1

      Hey! So, we’re not really “looking” for one, but rather trying to find one that would make the most sense for us to stop at. There’s so many in the US, they’re not hard to find. In fact, the navigation show all the locations and stall available.
      But, we only use them on road trips. There’s no need unless we drive 300+ miles a day. 99% of the time this isn’t even a concern as we plug in overnight in our garage 😊

    We came the opposite way earlier this week (Idaho to NY). Stayed in North Platte. The Runzas are really nice. Coming home we were 1-2 hours ahead of the storms. This was the first time in our 30 years that my wife ever told me to "go faster." BUT - can you explain the charge rates in Nebraska? When I got home I saw for N. Platte-> (kWh x $) 4x.23+11x.45+10x.74+2x1.20 = 27 kWh for $15.67 or 55 cents/kWh. Lincoln NE was even worse came to 86 cents per kWh! WTF?! @civwar64bob77 6 месяцев назад

      @@vegasteslafamily Oh I misread it. It looks like they charge by the minute, and I didn't write down how much I actually charged at each stop. The Lincoln, NE West O Street in the Navigator only says the rate is 0.23-1.25. My report says 2 minutes @ $0.47 per min + 8 mins at $0.76 + 4 @ $1.25. And cost me $12.02 so that was 86 cents per minute. OK, looking at the non-Nebraska chargers I was getting average 2kWh/minute on my Y/LR so I guess 43 cents per kWh. No explanation other than it is tier 1, 2, 3 charge rates. Ugh.

      So we had free supercharging for this trip, but last time we took this route about a year ago, we paid like $150-200. It depends on the time of day and rates, like if you were to overnight it you’d get much cheaper charging rates

    • @Superz3ro
      @Superz3ro 3 месяца назад

      We have found that supercharging is generally half of what we would have paid with petrol, however, if you can manage to plan your supercharging for non peak hours or late night, than the cost is roughly a quarter the cost of petrol…
      We drive a Model 3 | AWD | Dual Motor | LR | 19” Wheels | FSD | Pearl White with White Seats (Chose model and colour, hopefully because it is the most efficient, draining the battery less in more extreme heated climates)…
