A Drive along the roads of Nosara Costa Rica on the way to Playa Pelada in late March, 2023!

Nosara is a relatively newer village that lies along the Nicoya Coastline in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica. There is limited infrastructure here, but the influence of growth in regards to newer property being built on is everywhere.
The Nicoya Peninsula here is one of the last locations within C.R. in which significant areas have unpaved roads, and this drive shows many of them within the community. Nosara has one of the oldest expatriate communities in the country and is a mecca for offshore fishing, surfing, yoga, tennis, and even agriculture.
Much of Nosara lies in the Ostional Wildlife Refuge due to the turtles that lay their eggs here, and Playa Guiones has one of the most consistent waves in the world with over 330 days per year of rideable conditions for those who surf! The official town center is located 6 km inland from the beach, but the Nosara "village" has a few markets, a pharmacy, a post office, churches, a school, a police station, the David S. Kitson public library, a Red Cross clinic (Nosara lacks a hospital facility), and excellent dentistry. There is a Banco Popular branch located in a small commercial area near Playa Guiones, just adjacent to Nosara Paradise Rentals, which we also highly recommend.
