Could you make a sewing corner in the attic. A table and a couple of comfy chairs with sewing books. Another table with the sewing machine or two to keep fabrics from dragging on the floor. If not in Narnia another room close to the beautiful storage area. All supplies would be at hand. The dining area would be more ready to use.
I’m thinking that Phillip is quietly giggling to himself most of the day, listening to Stephanie’s off the cuff remarks. Which are always apt to the occasion and many times make me laugh out loud….

Andi, Andi, you are such an amazing artist!! The 📓/portfolio you made is extraordinary, and I especially love the green bedroom!! It's exquisite!! You have such an eye for unusual items, Andi!! I love your work!! So glad you are back!!! USA
The light blue organza will need an interior envelope in either a matching blue or a white. My grandmother -- born in 1895 -- had beautiful organza pillow covers on her beds with all different interior envelopes in various colors.
You have done wonders with some of those cushions.........I’m continually astonished at the work that Andi creates.....her artwork is just stunning, I love a water color, however her creativity from bits and pieces from the brocantes and around the chateau never cease to amaze me.........have a great week...........Donna in Toronto
OMG, I have total sensory overload with all these sumptuous, beautiful cushions and fabrics! I had to pause the video to catch my breath! You and Phillip did an outstanding job reimagining the cushions you worked on.Also, Andi's talent is trenendous. So many creative people are drawn to the chateau and to you,Stephanie. It reminds me of a French salon, where artists, writers, and intellectuals gathered. Also,in this age of Ikea,it makes my heart sing to see you highlighting the talent and beauty and craftsmanship of the past! Merci beaucoup!
as someone who is just getting into book binding, I squealed when Andie said she'd made her book of paintings! It's a beautiful work of art from cover to cover.
I'm so thankful for your videos. They make me smile and give me happiness. I'm so loving your relationship and your love between you two. Thank you again.
Can’t wait to see them in the rooms. Looking forward to seeing the rooms being prepared for the BB season. My dream is to do Chateau hopping through France. God willing🙏
great cushion repairs and create. a few comments suggested a sewing area or room this is a great idea. machines set up permanently and a really big table in middle. what a fun creation that would be!
The cushions are all beautiful. When sewing - remember the iron is your friend to flatten out the seams. Use a low setting and a towel on top of the delicate fabrics when ironing.
@@helenpalmer869 Andie helped and ironed both the blue embroidered piece and the piece I cut out of the old table cloth before I sewed them together (:
@@philipjanssen thats great Philip. It wasn't shown on the vlog. It was something that was drilled into me at school.😏 The cushion looked super after you had completed it 😊🤩
It would be so awesome to have the paintings printed on some pillowcases and then put them in the rooms that it was painted in. 🎨 Those paintings are stunning 😍
The little metal square with nails/pins along each side that is part of the little sculpture is actually a loom for weaving small squares - as a weaver, my heart rose up and sang when I saw it!
Absolutely adore the cushion restoration projects - gorgeous! Perhaps handyman Dan could be persuaded to rig up some lighting for your trimmings cupboard? It was a shame we couldn't feast our eyes on the gorgeousness tucked away in that cupboard. Q: of the pheasant fabric; how many different siblings will Horatio have? It looked like a varying pattern. I agree - the cushion of the day was Horatio's brother, and the beautiful blue/cream/white for the kitchen chaise. Well done! Don't be shy about posting a short of the ongoing cushion progress. I loved seeing it. Well done both of you!
You could also purchase battery operated led sensor lights or led light strips for the shelving in the cupboards. I purchased the battery operated sensor lights for my bedroom clothes wardrobes.
wow what a peaceful entrance start.before it started. very clever though. The show it self Bravo loved it. I call it making do with what you have. The end is a personal Home.
Nice to see you breathing new life into things. Adds to the charm. Phillip is a pleasant surprise. He sews, has a great artistic eye and knowledgeable about history. The two of you make a great team.
Aw I love watching these so much they just make me smile especially watching Steph & Phillip working together such a lovely lovely couple love to you all keep doing what you are doing 💓
Being one who sews and crafts, this has been an especially delightful video! One prettier cushion after another...and the white embroidered ones will turn out exquisite!
Love your channel. Been meaning to say it would be great to see a collaboration between you and the American Viscountess on the Mapperton Live channel. You are both strong women with huge properties to look after and could commiserate with each other over frequent water leaks to mention only one. She also broadcasts talks for the Smithsonian channel on subject of great houses- would certainly enjoy seeing you doing something similar regarding Chateaus!
Agree with Alys,,,a designated sewing area would be extremely useful considering all the draperies, cushions, bedding, costumes, etc that are always projects waiting to be completed.
Yes, the Horacio’s brother cushion was the greatest transformation. If you know anybody who makes paper I bet they’d love the shredded silk that was left over ❤️🇨🇦
Stephanie, I bet you’ve never met a fabric you didn’t like!❤️💜💖 all those patterns, I’m trying to get into a lot patterns , it’s a slow go but you inspire me.
Well. if ever there was going to be a 'pillow fight' at Lalande, you have more than enough cushions as substitutes ;-) Well done in getting just another one of those 'jobs' done and another box ticked. You have some really lovely fabrics to work with and just love Andi's art work. Talented lady.
Have you thought of putting touch lights in the cabinets in the attic. They are able to go anywhere with double sided tape. Battery powered. I use them in Florida for when we lose power during Hurricane season. They last forever.
If you ever decide to do merchandise, a Lalande Cushion collection would be an admirable addition to the items being sold! Thank you for the video! Have a fabulous week!
I would absolutely purchase the one that showed the old Lalande portrait with the towers before the fire. The one Stephanie mention the towers reflection in the lake with the people walking in old period clothing. I think it was white with blue or gray stitching. It was one of my favorite Lalande portraits I have seen all year. It would make for a beautiful addition to sell in a pill/cushion collection.
Such industriousness.😊 Love the cushion with the engraving of Lalande and the "Delft" cushion 🥰 You make such a great team Stephanie and Philip. Andi s work is just magical🥰
I love your program and watching all of you patiently and lovingly piecing that chateau back together…. And it already looks beautiful. But when it was in its heyday with the French elites… how many people were required to run it… including the stables and property. It couldn’t have been less than 50! I’m glad people are restoring as many as they are… they do tell a story!
That was a fun video. I love the old video when Stephanie and Philip are making lamp shades while sipping whiskey. I always felt that was the beginning of the romance between the two of them💕💘💗

As a past sewer and a collector of cushions this was a real treat! Thank you for the creativity as you combined fabrics to make use of all of your fabrics in the most beautiful ways. It will be great to see all of the cushions placed in the bedrooms as you get ready for the lucky B&B guests this year.
Such a wonderful collection of cushions. Amazingly you have found the perfect home for practically every one of them! I do have one suggestion. Last week I think it was, there was some debate about the colour of the chairs in the Wedgewood Room...the green. I made a comment at the time that there were options. If that room is small, as I suspect it is, I think it would be a good idea to keep to a monotone and put blue on the chairs BUT then put that Designer's Guild cushion of the chrysanthemums on the chair to give a touch, but only a touch of beautiful mauves, blues and purples. Then when flowers are in bloom, maybe there will be some purple chrysanthemums that could be put in a vase in that room transforming the cushion into a clever mimesis. 🇨🇦
I so agree with Philip! I don't really love the green chairs. They are ok but not just righ!! I think a reverse of the Wedgwood would be a better option. Bring out the cream \white as a main color with a small amount of the blue. Then you have a perfect backdrop for a splash of wonder with cushions that can be changed out for the seasons. Purple, yellow whatever takes your fancy. I was also thinking that the individual Wedgwood pieces are getting lost on the wall. Maybe a framing of a paint color around each one or around a vignette of 7 or more would attract the eye to look more closely at them.
Hello Stephanie and Philip! I look once more at this episode and see what a wonderful artist Andy is. I suggest that she follows her idea and turn the object into a bird´s house. It looks already like a little Lalande chateau for small birds. How nice! My children´s grandparents were both swedish artists and besides painting, they were very creative in making interesting things that could be used for the family. My compliments to both of you too.
The icing on the cake for home decor is placing just the right cushions on just the right pieces of furniture...They complete, warm up and punctuate the overall statement of the room. You made yours BEAUTIFUL. This was my favorite video...Someone suggested you sell cushions you make...I would love to see what could come of that....I think they would sell like hotcakes...but if they dont...you could always stop making them...or stop when it was no longer fun for you to do..Meanwhile your fans could have a slice of Lalande in their own homes as the icing on their decor cake 😊

Both of you have very good eyes for matching up colors, prints, etc.....All of the pillows/covers are lovely.
Pillows are a great place to show off some of your pin collection. A little unexpected but another place you can enjoy them.

What Alys said!
Absolutely love this idea. A nice sewing area or room. Yes, you need it. It would be lovely.
Brrr...in the winter, so cold up there?
Great idea. Big work table that is portable and lots of lights
And another utensil holder for scissors, measuring tapes and pin cushions. Also a see through one for threads. Or perhaps pegboards instead.

The cushion fill needs to be at least 1” all around larger to fill the cover they will look so much better, good luck
Great job with cushion repair and creation!
Andi's drawing of the attic bedroom was so cozy and inviting. I loved this episode and will always remember it as "The One with the Pillowpalooza".

A nicer, more gentle countdown to the premiere.
Much nicer than that loud music countdown.
