OMG, I was almost 20 years old and heard "The Voice" on the radio I remembered thinking, "That's the voice (you, Justin!) from Nights in White Satin and Forever Autumn!!" and had to get the lp that had it....and then made the connection that this was The Moody Blues!! This album is what truly made me a Moodies fan. I played it over and over and over again. I still have it all these decades later!! Glad to say I beat that 22000 days estimate, lol, and hope to continue to do so! Meanwhile, whenever I've felt discouraged about achieving my dreams, I play The Voice again and it taps into that place in my soul and I am once again encouraged. Keep on rockin, Justin!!!
My first Moodies album at 16 ...blew my mind. It started a deep dive into the Moody Blues archives...one album ,as i could afford them , at a time. A decades long fantastic journey into time and space. I am still travelling.
I remember seeing my dad coming home holding the album. At least that's what I thought but the record shop had given him the sleeve. Mum eventually bought LDV for his birthday. Dad also took me to the LDV tour concert at the Royal Albert Hall. My first Moodies gig. Happy days.
What a terrific album! My favorite song during my early high school years was "The Voice," though I shortly after discovered heavy metal. However, I have always been grateful for The Moody Blues and always will be - they're an eternal delight!
When I was a child my father took us on a trip in 1982 through the Canada Rocky Mountains. He played this album as well as Question of Balance and the legendary Threshold of a Dream. I had never seen anything like those mountains, and to this day I have yet to witness anything to match the epicness of them (they must be seen to understand - some are so vast you literally stand at the bottom and have tilt your head as far back as possible to see the top disappearing into the clouds). Because of "the magic" captured in these 3 albums, coupled with the beauty & majesty of those mountains these 3 albums have been deeply rooted into my heart as legendary and untouchable by age or time. Thank you for being part of creating such unique albums.
Hi ❤ Said Before : Partly Long Distance Voyager is our album also : 1981 April - June, my firstborn David and I in UK Cobham Surrey-Europe-3yoDavid Malta-UK. The Voice 22000days Talking Out Of Turn, Longtime Australia friends of Moody Blues, Lots of Love, Thanks for sharing again❤ ❤!!
I always think...this one is my favorite...then I hear another and another. They're all my favorite and this one is really really good. Thank you for a lifetime of favorites! ❤💙
My favorite album of the Moody Blues , maybe the best album ! The Patrick Moraz keyboards contribution was fantastic ! "Talking Out of Turn" to me is the best song of the eights !
Still remember when I bought this album.....yes it was a record and I loved the one! I was in college. Can't believe it's been so many year ago. Thank you Justin for sharing this great classic! I still have the vinyl record and I loved the cover!
Love this album, Justin, I have the vinyl and its well played, fav tracks being, The Voice, In My World, Meanwhile. Nervous and Veteran Cosmic Rocker have opposite effects...great songs too. Always loved that pictorial album cover in blue. 💙
One of the most unlikely #1 albums in the US, this record demonstrated the appeal of the overall package despite it not having a top ten Billboard hit. I love that songs from this album that were never released as singles became staples of their live shows all the way to their solo shows today (i.e. Lodge's "Nervous"). This also contains an unlikely Edge composition ("22,000 Days"), which showcases more than his talents as a poet. Finally, Thomas' suite to close out the album harkens back to their classic period in terms of the kind of storytelling it does, and "Veteran Cosmic Rocker" also got plenty of stage time. This album is a regular presence on my turntable. I'll give it another spin tonight!
This is probably my favorite album from the eighties. The combination of instruments for every track is excellent, and it has a really good, consistent "vibe" throughout all of the songs without being monotonous. Overall, it's a really cohesive piece of work. It's kind of cool to see different elements from the sounds that everybody developed independently during the hiatus combining into a really cool new sound.

I saw you with the Utah Symphony decades ago and it was the best, longest show with a break in it. Bravo!
Thank you for sharing this, love this album. 👍🌷
After "Octave' didn't do all that well, this LP returned the band to where it needed to be, and set the stage for the next decade.
Wish Justin would collaborate with Sir Paul McCartney.. time remains, boys..
