Hunt where the sheep were !!! You'll be surprised how cows & sheep coexist with each other out there .... They may not hang out and play tag with each other but , there's a safety aspect with animals being together .....
@@thistledewoutdoors3331No doubt the elk eventually come back when the sheep have moved on, but it can take a few days. Cattle does not seem to bother the elk too much, but they are not usually accompanied by people and dogs.
It’s about time! Congratulations. Too bad about the sheep. Hopefully that was the cow that trashed your camera. That creek was a great idea. Looked tasty
great harvest! its refreshing to see fellow hunters out there not acting like a winning football team over killing an animal. jumping up and down and acting ridiculous. yall act like hunters. thank you!
i know how pumped i am when i fill a deer tag if i ever got an elk tag i imagine i would be celebrating too . not because i killed an animal but because my family is eating good for the next year . hard not to celebrate when you put in that much work and finally pays off especially if you get skunked the year before
That hip quiver flopping around out there like a big flag, not to mention it snags on everything and you’re constantly reaching back to adjust it. The only reason I say this is because I’ve been there done that, not worth the hassles. Having it flat on the bow is the most popular reason for decades now for a reason.
I totally understand your arguments against the hip quiver. I have tried it both ways also and I prefer using the hip quiver. If I am hunting in thick stuff, I just attach it to my backpack. When I am stalking an animal I will slide the quiver to my back since I will have gotten rid of my backpack by then. If not, I just use my right hand to stabilize my quiver as I stalk. Now for the pros. I like to carry a lighter bow since we usually hunt miles from the road. That extra weight in my opinion could make your arm more tired when it’s go time, especially if you get a shot opportunity at the end of the week after holding your bow for countless miles. I bought one of the lightest bow at the time for that reason. Our arm/shoulder muscles are not well designed to do isometric contractions for that long. They will develop trigger points and create problems. The bow will shoot different with and without quiver attached for obvious reasons so you can’t just remove it when you are sitting and waiting for game. It might be psychological, but for me I like to shoot my bow with less stuff on it and I prefer the balanced feel of shooting my bow without the quiver. I feel more confident that way, and confidence is very important when hunting and letting an arrow fly. Accuracy is everything. Never seen a pro archer shoot a tournament with a quiver on. People will say that you don’t need as much accuracy when hunting but I have to disagree. Animals move when they hear hear the arrow fly and the bow going off, especially cagey old mule deer bucks. If you’re off mark to start with and the animal moves on top of it, things can go south real quick. I can totally understand why I am in the minority with my hip quiver, but I have learned to deal with it and I like it better. I really think it comes down to personal preference. No right or wrong here.
@ET-sp6qm - Page 15 of the 2023 Colorado Big Game hunting brochure references the illegal use of “live-action game cameras” during the same day or following day. . . . If YOU read the Colorado hunting rules.
@ET-sp6qm. We were using regular game cameras, not live cameras, in a non wilderness area. No stipulation exists in Colorado for the type of cameras we used on National forest.
We are well aware that different States have different rules, as we have lived in 7 different States. You said you find that what I did was “very unethical”. I asked you why and you replied that it is illegal in some States. Illegal and unethical are very different things. You should be able to explain why you think shooting a cow in 6 inches of water is so bad, because ethics are personal.
read again, never said it was very unethical, just simply unethical, you go do what your youtube followers like, have fun and good luck on your next hunt ..... gonna be my 2nd year elk hunting here, this is the most fucked up state for rules anyway @@CatchNDinner

If you read the Colorado hunting rules . Game cameras have to be taking down 2 weeks prior to hunting that location.
Not in Colorado. Every states have different rules. There is no such stipulation in the Colorado hunting brochure.

New to hunting in Colorado, although legal in Colorado, I find it very unethical to shoot an animal while its standing in water.
Not sure why you find it unethical. No real difference between her drinking in 6 inches of water, and her eating in 6 inches of grass.
well if you ever hunted in a state that did not allow it, maybe you would understand ... like I said, new to colorado @@CatchNDinner
