    "To learn from example", yes! I love it man! The digital revolution is finally taking place it seems! But hey Google, don't forget the one thing that matters most in life, which is nature! Combine the human technium with nature, and find a balance there. That's what humanity needs in order to really progress!

    You know, this is cool and all, but why don't they ever talk about what they do with all this data? One company having this much data on people and things is worrisome because of the fact that we don't know the extents of what they're doing with it, or who they're selling it to.

      Michael Rosche
      That is way way off. With the advent of learning about the people And places around it. The probability of self-awareness as we know it could be in the next 50 and not 200. Heck there are algorithms that follow you online and know almost everything about your likes, dislikes, friends, family and where you work. So it is not a stretch to see machines learning quickly and thus understanding more and more.

    • @michaelrosche
      @michaelrosche 7 лет назад +3

      Machines are better than ever at computing large amounts of data but they still can't make meaning of this data, even with machine learning, it'll take some time, definitely more than 50 years with the way things are currently going. Also there are some strong and intelligent advocates against the advancement of AI so early on as a species, we should first understand how to safe guard a technology before introducing it as it may be hazardous, but history has shown that that is rarely the case. Progress can't be stopped, only slowed down, and for our species's sake, I hope we thread the AI situation carefully or this is a road we're going down where there isn't a coming back.

    At 2:55 you talk about people with little background into computer engineering being able to get into and use machine learning but I still cant find any doors open in this aspect. Everyting about this topic [that I can find] online is either a showcase of what these systems are able to do [eg. this video], or programming information that needs at least a couple of years of experience or a hand full of months of heavy learning to understand and use. If there is any middle ground I would really like to see it :[ .

      qwerty1b3 tell that to the 55 year old truck driver who is going to lose his job soon and doesn't have the time, money or will to go back to university and study computer science.
      And anyway, isn't the whole point of technology to free us from forced labour? This can be the freedom we've been waiting for or it can lead to even greater inequality and global suffering

    • @BlueyMcPhluey
      @BlueyMcPhluey 7 лет назад +3

      Seegal Galguntijak to be honest I think it's less to do with creating "pointless jobs" (I'd love it if someone could specifically identify which jobs they are) but rather they're new jobs to meet the needs of the ultra wealthy exclusively. They are the ones with the money and so there's a whole host of new jobs that provide no value to the average person or society as a whole. That combined with the billions of jobs that could very easily be automated if governments made it their priority to invest in... there's no way we need everybody working any more. It's simply a formality we keep in place because it's been necessary for almost all of human history.

    • @Seegalgalguntijak

    So, machine learning is basically Artificial Intelligence?

    • @KylePiira
      @KylePiira 7 лет назад +7

      No Machine Learning is the most promising field of AI but they are not the same. Typically when you hear about anything AI related in the news is actually coming from a field called Deep Learning which is a subfield of Machine Learning which is a subfield of Artificial Intelligence. Machine Learning basically comes from the idea of giving an algorithm millions of examples to look at and letting it figure out on its own what characterizes certain things. Artificial Intelligence is a more general term that describes machines doing things that take intelligence like determining what a document is about or writing an essay.

    The CC botom right hand corner youtube page is where I`d like to see improvements done . Machine learning may not understand human speech but could advance the written word in accuracy far quicker than the human ear`s ability to hear . To compare say machine learning improves over time while human ability to hear decreases over time as we age . If technology keeps improving it becomes ageless , at the present people cannot become ageless . So we deteriorate , equipment becomes better .(Buy shares in Skynet )

    The woman's voice in the beginning sounds just like Margaret McPoyle. I really thought it was her.

    If we teach filed sport physical literacy to youth and then adults have sedentary lifestyles that lead to heart disease why do we wonder why? How can a person be taught at an early age physical literacy that serves the entire lifetime? The Answer is to teach all the transport sports. They serve recreation and transportation. USA has a 400 billion annual heart disease problem. Simply by the physical literacy we teach to youth we drastically fix this situation. Teach transport sport and add a shower at work and you save billions of peoples lives and offer incredible social social progressive change so vast it;s to much to mention here. SpikeBoarding is the last transport sport that will ever be born. IN 300 years it remains exactly the same as the day we made it. Seeking bright minds now to collaborate with.
