Honestly I love this series, and it kinda proves how global the game is these days.
Which is why african teams are so weak coz all good players are lured by european countries to play for them. Some european countries just open their border to let africans in so that they can get good black players to play for them. Which is invisble robbing of talent. Europe is exploiting africa's income disadvantage to gain success.
@@krish5445 That's not why they let in African immigrants lmao
@@leightonsmith4201 That is what is actual reason, why will they tell you the real reason. THe govt always tells the opp of what is true. No surprises. Africa is being kept poor by the west to suck its resources both natural and human.
@@krish5445 Cheap labour
@@krish5445 unbelievable 😂…those Africans chose to leave shitty environments. They show what people can do in civilized places. They provided a home for these people and you bash them. Wtf
I lived in Bamako, Mali for most of my childhood, during an incredible peaceful period, and I left during the 2012 coup. It’s more than an incredible country, and it’s so easy to fall in love with it and its people. They’re also so football crazy there haha, that’s where I started playing football as a kid. Thanks for doing this video!
6:07 “So without further Edu…”
Yes, put a picture of the Arsenal Edu when you say that next time
Without Freddy Adu would be my preference.
@@bentn13 already done
I feel like at some point you'll have to do a "World Cup" of all these actual starting XIs, arguing who'd win for each match in a lose-and-go-home type of scenario until only one team was left standing. All the teams that you put together look so strong on paper.
Way too much effort
Ohhh wowwww....This eligible 11 reminds me of a time when Nigeria and Cameroon had the duopoly of Africa in the late 90's/early 2000's, and were really good candidates for an African team to break the Quarter Finals duck. ⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽⚽
good old days. Used to pick them in PES back then for their pacey strikers
indeed
Ngl this is one of the reasons I hate Suarez (coz of 2010 vs Ghana)
Adama Traore is a great player, not to be confused with the Adama Traore who actually represent Mali, or the Adama Traore who actually represent Mali.
this team is actually brilliant. cant believe you didnt mention adama declaring that he would play for Mali before backtracking on his words and going to spain
once i played an FM save as Togo manager and Adama Traore on Mali ruined my life
Adama even played a match I think
Alfie can you do a video documenting the rise and fall of Oldham Athletic and how they managed to go from being founding members of the Premier League and having competed in the top-flight at recently as 1994 to now favourites to get relegated out of the Football League altogether here in 2021?
Day 2: Best XI made of club captains
I second this motion. Could make for a very interesting video and team.
You should do an XI of players who could represent strange nations you wouldn't expect. Alexander Isak and Eritrea for example
Cristiano Ronaldo and Cabo Verde?
@@gokhulmanikandan7689 ooh that’s a really good one, I didn’t even know about that
@@gokhulmanikandan7689 that's not weird Cape Verde was a Portuguese colony
@@kieronparr3403 It's definitely weird, just due to the fact that it's Ronaldo
He was born on Madeira an island off Africa. Just like (and next door to) cape Verde. Madreira is closer to Cape Verde than the Mainland
New drinking game:
Take a shot every time Alfie says Mamadou Samassa and try to stay conscious
As a baller fan this is BEST vid I've seen so far purley from the amount MJ pics alone 👌🏾
Day Whatever The Fuck It Is Now: Barcelona 2011 vs 2015 Combined XI
Fun fact: Mali were managed by Henri Stambouli, father of former Spurs midfielder Benjamin
Basically what I learn from these videos is that if you want to be a world class footballer, you need to be born in the suburbs of Paris
😂 😂
Thanks for the history 😊
I was looking forward to that
Day 2: Could you do a video talking about Malaysian legend Mohktar Dahari who is the 3rd all time international top scorer
Yves Bissouma and Ngolo Kante in one team will be madness!
Another great video! Thanks from the 🇺🇸
lmao i remember giving a suggestion for this very video quite a while ago... also i would like to see a guinea xi if all eligible players declared for them lowkey wanna see who will be playing alongside pogba and naby keita
You should do Senegal next. They already have a fire squad, but could’ve been insane if everyone who could have played for them
Do a vid on a would be starting XI if every prem team started the players numbered 1-11 (since Burnley did it)
Not woke enough. Try again.
May have missed some players but this is my attempt at an all time what if Mali xi:
Mahamadou Sidibe;
Djibril sidibe, Wesley fofana, Souleymane Diamoutene, adama Tamboura;
Lessana Diarra, N’golo Kante, Jean Tigana;
Ousmane Dembele, Salif Keita, Frederic Kanoute
Should’ve added Seydou Keita from Barcelona
It'd be kinda cool if they all got together and agreed to declare for Mali to see how far they can get.
These vids are among my faves
I legit searched this yesterday to see if you’d made one, and the disappointment was immeasurable, but here you are with the clutch
Excellent video
Love this series so much, Cape Verde next?
Wesley fofana is ivorian right?
Like Eddie Howe, you should also do "Freddy Adu" for without any further ado.
Alfie, I admire your global knowledge. Please do a video on the best team of eleven players that could have played for England.
This team is actually pretty frightening on paper 👀
New video idea for this series Wales 👏👏
"What happened to Fabio Paim", the teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo at Sporting's youth team that was considered better than him.
There is actually another Adama Traore who won the best player award in the U20 World Cup, and his career has since died to many many injuries
I'm hoping over the next decades the theme of African players playing for European countries will level out due to the period of great migration in the mid 20th century calming down. Hopefully football infrastructure grows and stability in places like Mali can increase.
Pls do a video on the afc Wimbledon story, how the FA allowed their move away and the raise in promotions they had. 9 in 11 years.
Also how Whyteleafe fc are now gone over a ground problem which ian rush acts confused about.
How there is a Phoenix club for the fans now. :-)
Last year Mali named a squad with 3 players named Adama Traores
Do France’s best XI without players of African descent.
He has already done that.
@@rithwikprathap4020 Not really. The closest thing he did to that was “France’s XI that could only play for France.”
@@idontmakecontent4870 Why arbitrarily remove players of African descent? His videos don't usually cover how a national team would look if players of a specific regional origin and only them were removed.
Watched the entire video asking where is Naby Keita only realizing he's from Guinea at the very end xD
yesssir malian power 🟢🟡🔴
Energetic? Well that isn't an understatement.
Alfie 🤝 Irish Guy
Dunking on Steve Sidwell
Just for your info, Niakhaté could very well represent Senegal as he's in a similar situation to Ballo-Touré
that midfield 3 is crazy, no one would be able to win a tackle in that dog fight
I miss these videos
You are very smart
When I don’t know how to name my manager in FIFA Career Mode I usually use a random name generator and pick a name. I fancied Mali and picked Bailo Sonko. Now I always pick the last preset and give him the name
This would be a really fun team to play with in fifa
The rules are that there can only be one Traore in form in the PL. Last season it was Bertrand at Villa.
I like Mali extremely so much and ever and also hopefully, the national team would develop their squad well and try to challenge with the respective credible national teams, not just with the respective top teams, good friends!!!:-D
Have you ever thought about making these what if teams in football manager and seeing how they fair in international tournaments??
You should do a video on 7 of my longest Intros.
It is among my favorite nations
Updated version of all time greatest England XI last one made 2 years ago
What happened to Panathinaikos?
I went to the QPR v/s Leicester Pre-season game ... Fofana was easily the best player on the pitch including the likes of Tilemans, Vardy and Barnes so it makes me sad that it was the last game he would get before his injury
Now do a philippines xi if they are eligible
Mama África has been robbed of her talent for years. Mali has been historically since the 13th century a power house in Africa but sadly the colonialists have destroyed it. If the players had any ambition and or pride they'd play for mali and not France, but many choose the easy way out. Mali is a very good example and Senegal. Even my nation Morocco too and Algeria dz.
I'd love to see another video on another north west African nation whether it be from the Maghreb or west Africa. Cheers
They learned skills in Europe...
You can't say all of those players would have become as good had they played for a nation with far less footballing pedigree and infrastructure, coaching, academies etc. as Europeans nations. Many of them were born and grew up in those European nations and associate themselves as citizens of those respective nations rather than the nation of their parents.
They weren't even born in Africa, you clown. They're Europeans.
Do the same for some of the big European national teams!
I tweeted about this and I'll ask again. Please do a Zimbabwean XI next.
Diaby is class
Kante is class
Bissouma is amazing
Fofana is quality
Adama Traore is quality
Adama Traore is an overrated baby oil and pace merchant.
adama😂😂😂
6:15 your welcome
Day 22: where would a team of Alfie Potts Harmer lookalikes finish in the premier league?
Above Arsenal
Day 4, 7 Best hattricks of all time (based on both quality and occasion).
CANADA XI if all eligible players declared pls. There are the stars that Canada has but players like Tomori, Bounou, Cristante, and Kadioglou can push them over the line in becoming an amazing team.
Could you do the India XI next?
Can someone explain Niakhaté(the one at CB)? All the information I can find on him is he's actually Senegalese and not Mali?
There's two moussa niakhates. One plays in Bundesliga, one in Ligue 2. I think....
@@kieronparr3403 I'm talking about the CB
Do france XI if they could only use players born in current day france.
Do Cameroon
Day 2: The rise and fall of Chievo Verona
Try a new series; Best XI for each continent (Asia, South America, North America, Africa, Europe and Australia. You can leave Antarctica out ;) )
Do Greece next
TBF Traore was BORN in Spain so it's not like he is fucking over Mali. If he picked Mali he would be playing for a country that isn't his actually nationality and a technicality.
It's so weird that because I had a postman with a friend that once met a woman with a Brazilian personal trainer it means I can now play for the great Brazil national team!
That midfield is ridiculous. No-one is going past that.
2:20 that is the senegal flag iirc
You should try Congo, they would be stacked. Lukaku, tielemans, etc.. almost every black person for the Belgian team.
That's quiet a team you picked.
Don’t always believe Wikipedia, Wesley Fofana isn’t from Mali he’s Ivorian.
He has both Malian and Ivorian ancestry
@@perspii2808 where you get this information
Request: Was the 1954 world cup final fixed?
Best pre-Pelé South American players
Senegal next?
How about a video about a team ...with a twist. All players are either 6ft4 and above or 5ft7 and below, best XI of 35 yr old plus players, best XI with players all sharing either the same forename or surname etc
5 a side team from
Every premier league club (doesn’t have to have a goalkeeper)

1. Bob Paisley.
@@MrBenjigee That’s the most obvious one.
A lot of these players chose not to represent Mali because Mali had nothing to do with their evolution as a top level athlete.
U17 Swiss Side that won the world cup where are they now
Please make a guadeloupe xl
My Girlfriend is half Malian so I’m watching this feeling pride
Do best team under 5 feet 6 inches...
It took 7 months for this to come out, ffs😂😂😂
Do it but for Sweden
Do the DRC
Day 25 of asking : ranking the managerial careers of Alex Ferguson's ex players (alt titles - 7 best/7 worst)
Please do Albania Alfie
it is true though. most top african players born in africa show no allegiance to the country of their birth, the all go and play for european countries. it should be a rule where you have to play for where you are born.
2:24 Senegal flag?
Algeria next?
Interesting how this series is basically African nations.
