@Dmitry Zaripov Yes. When they poisoned Red Star Belgrade in Athens. Red Star beat them 4:1 in Belgrade and then they lost 3:0 in Athens. The Red Star players were very lethargic throughout the game and barely able to run.
Anderlecht were also in the inaugural UEFA Cup campaign in 1971-72 which, I think (having looked at all the campaigns involved), means they are the only team to have played in the first season of all 3 current UEFA club competitions. Sadly, they weren't in the first Cup Winner's Cup campaign.

Swedish teams have a bunch a names due to how we organize things. Clubs are typically active in multiple sports (E.g. Djurgården are very successful in Hockey too), so you have a "parent" club for all sports and "member" clubs for individual sports. Then there are the 168 "kamratföreningar" (IFK), which is an association of clubs in basically every city in Sweden in all major sports (and a few are even in Finland). They all share the same blue-white colors, and the most famous of these in football are IFK Gothenburg and IFK Norrköping. Different clubs, but they are also part of the same parent club, and it is considered to be a "kamratderby" when they play even if they are from opposite sides of the country.

I don't think there's mismanagement in terms of finance from Real Madrid. The issue with Madrid's finance was they were building stadiums & investing in long term infrastructure, their training ground looks like something from the movie & they invested in facilities for the youths. They also saved in recent years with few signings but this season & next year, they're planning to spend a lot. Don't think so, bro'. According to Wikipedia that match was played on 14th September 1955. Sporting Lisbon drew 3-3 with Partizan Belgrade on 4th September 1955 with Sporting's Joao Baptista Martins scoring the opening goal of the match and of the European Cup.
Djurgarden are also an ice hockey team. They are named after a park island in Stockholm which was one of my favourite places to visit when we went to the Swedish capital city.
I might have one thing to point out is that the Dutch league wasn't like what it is today. Back in 1954/55 season, the first division was contested by 56 teams divided into 4 sectors with the winners of each group going forward into a championship play-off structure. PSV were the top team of Group C, FC Eindhoven were Group D, NAC Breda, Group A and Willem II Group B (don't ask me how they sorted these things out). Of the four teams Willem II were the overall winners with PSV third ahead of FC Eindhoven. What makes this even weirder is that the KNVB wanted to streamline this into two leagues of 18 teams and the winner of the two groups goes head to head to be crowned Champions of The Netherlands. It was only another season that there would be the Eredivisie as we know it today which for all intents and purposes is easier on the heads for the modern day football fan.

PSV’s only European cup was in 1988 when they beat SL Benfica 0-0 (6-5 on penalties)
Big up Alfie for putting effort into Hungarian pronunciations. 👌🏻💪🏻
Holland Sport has merged in 1971 with ADO from The Heague to form FC Den Haag, today known as ADO Den Haag
😂😂😂... "... that would be for others to decide" was so expected, yet unexpected.
This was such a good vid and thanks for giving me a presentation idea for my final exam german
8:28 I never knew we hosted Winter Olympics, too! I always thought the 1952 Winter Olympics were held in Oslo.
Great video.
Brilliant video, would love a video exploring the discontinued cup winners cup and intertoto cups. Hear talk of them from time to time but know nothing about them!
Any AIK Fans here? Great video BTW HTC sevens
My grandad used to play for Gwardia Warszawa no cap🚫🧢
no shit man....
Smashing vid!
Should've mentioned RWE's last seasons cup run where they reached the quarter final beating Leverkusen and Bielefeld.
As an Essener who supports Hamburg, I am still amazed and proud by that RWE team. The club is the city's problem child that "no one" supports but everybody cares about.
Nur der RWE ..
Partizan played European cup final 1966... You could mention that.
He would easily mention if red star was here, figures
Day 97: Indonesia XI If All Eligible Players Had Declared For Them

Keep dreaming bocah
Would be dead 🤣
This video is great I remember watching the sarbrucken video so glad I found this
The people's channel,ladies and gentlemen👏👏👏
Would love to see you make a video about the miracle of Madrid, when OB (Odense Boldklub) knocked out Real Madrid in the UEFA Cup (now known as UEFA Europa League), it might have been the biggest display of a danish team in Europe
Madrid played really like crap that match. And was even qualifiying at very the end of the match Luis Enrique (Playing a full-back in that match) lost his shit and went to try to head a corner, and got his back taken. He might be already plotting his move to Barcelona... (Joking). That was the Madrid that couldn't win a European Cup/Champions League in 32 years. Not the superpower it was before, or returned to be afterwards.
Oh god honestly thought this channel took a new turn
Can you do a video on the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and / or Cup Winners' Cup?
5:30
Me, who played mtk budapest in FM20 and won 6Cl with them: lets gooooo
I thought Wolves were a big factor in the creation of European cup back in 1950s
No idea if any of you will find this interesting, but i’d very much enjoy a documentary style or top 7 video regarding Faroe Islands football!
Best 11 that played every minute last season in the premier leage
There was only like 2 outfield players
Really should have put your face on the Jesus picture. It would be hilarious

I just like Alfie’s intros although they can sometimes be unnecessarily long
Lovely Richard Herring reference in the intro :D
MTK former pre-war manager was Bela Gutmann who went on to win back to back European championships with Benfica.
great work as always, could you do a video on top ten coaches who have had success on the pitch as well as on the sideline as a coach? and a list of top ten coaches who didn't play at a high level on the pitch but still are very sucssesful???
Day 17: where would a team of Alfie Potts Harmer lookalikes finish in the premier league?
Nobody expected that from Biden
