Nice! Seems like all of the cosmetic parts are pretty easily replaceable, and for not very much either. Unless that digitizer goes bad, which I'm willing to bet usually stays intact during a normal drop.
Hey ETrade Supply, could you do a video on how to change the battery of the s6? without taking all the parts away just a "quick" video on how to change it? i think a lot of people are interested on seeing this Great Content btw!
The part you have removed having the soft keys at 15:24. If one light ONLY works on my S6, could I replace it by buying this part? If so, can you link me to it? Thank you
Hello. I have a Galaxy S6 that got wet inside and it caused the "recent apps" button light to stop working. Thankfully the button itself works perfect, but its just the light itself that isnt lighting up. I know its not software or app related because the back button light works, and I did a factory reset and it still doesnt light up. So I think some water shorted out the back light for the recent apps button. I have repaired an S6 before so I know whats involved for the most part, but want to make sure I get the right part. I think what I need is the USB board assembly (the part you remove at 14:48). Is this right? Thanks
The craziest coolest thing in the world happened. One day I decided to just turn it back on and test it again and the light flickered, and came on and has worked since!
I think that u broke that LCD u can clearly see that in 12:43 ,look little upper on left bottom corner and u can see the line on lcd.Tell me if i mistake?
Howdy, The best ideas that I have noticed was on Volt daddy (i did a google) Without a doubt the most useful info on batteries and this that I have found.
Finally a easier way to remove the digitizer keys just in case they stop working instead of using a heat gun an prying up the glass screen to get to them. I can see this phone getting many different modified back plates instead of the glass finish, I'd personally prefer a matte finish back panel with a suede plastic type finish, feels better in the hands an is a bit better when it comes to grip.
Thanks for the video! I am trying to make a solar charger, can I just sauder (sp) my phone cord directly to the panel or do I have to have a USB circuit? Thanks
Hello! i have a question. on the back middle frame..are 3 ribbons. On them it's says ZF-E4 what are them for? And 1 more question....i changed the display to my s6 phone...and if i put to charge it's charging normally...but when i assembly on the middle frame and i put the screws .... and i put to charging ...say it;s charging...but not charge...battery not grow.. Thanks!
thx for the video. what is the red antenna and blue antennas for? samsung used to have only 1 long antenna in there phones. why 2 different short ones now? do shorter antennas mean weaker signal strength?
I couldn't get a good look at it, but on the bottom right where the speaker is. Is there any explanation as to why the screen might not be flush with the aluminum bezel?
Let's say you wanted to change the colour of your S6, does the fingerprint sensor home button have to stay with the same device like with the iPhones Touch ID, therefore you'd be stuck with the wrong coloured home button?
what are those two circular things next to the micro usb port. are they supposed to hold down the usb port and also is the usb port fragile? im worried that my charging port will loosen up and stop working after a while. thankfully this phone has wireless charging
Could you please post a video on how to on how to take your galaxy s6 apart to see if it is water damaged and how to repair that and also an led or lsd .. whatever lights the screen. I am about to order parts to change my screen but would like to know these things prior so I can order the parts needed. Im not sure the screen alone will make the difference
Ana Marie Cruz Thanks for your feedback, we have talked about the idea, and sure, we should make video like that to tell people how to tell and fix the water damage. Thanks for your idea! Have a good day! =)
So in all reality, the black glass=super easy to replace if broken. The battery a bit more difficult because you've got to remove the back, then the front (although I don't think anything beyond that is necessary, you could just pry from the outside rather than the main-board side), and if you break the screen it'll be a major PITA....but do-able.
Not the glass but the AMOLED screen. Sadly a casualty of war. On our first attempt at opening it up our tech broke the screen (only the screen) with the case opening tool. It is very very fragile, and this phone is not easy to take apart.
***** I've never seen a phone so difficult tot disassemble ever... til I seen this. All that glass.. all that heating up just to free the glue joints ... ughh.. And I thought the first time I replaced the screen on my HTC Rezound was a pain in the A$$. I don't like how all these new phones have such fragile glass that can be easily broken. On another note, idk why they covered up that battery. They could've easily made the rear cover removable with that same battery.
Bruce Wrigleys Gumchewz Yeah couldn't agree with you more. It was extremely difficult the first time through, and it is sad to see Samsung moving away from removable batteries
I don't understand why disassemble a very valuable device. I myself wouldn't do it I'm still looking forward to buying the Galaxy S6. What else is that once taken apart I think it would be super hard to put it back together if possible at all. I'm no professional when it comes to the interior of electronic devices but if you guys manage it gratz to you.
OMG I have opened my s2 in like 5 min with just looking at one vid without a problem. 4 years latter (s6) you need to look at all the vids and pics and pray to god that you don't brick it in the process.
Do you guys think a battery replacement (if needed) could be done? What about an expansion for this phone? Just wondering, you are the professionals! :D
Ryleeman54number2 The adhesive will be affected by the temperature. But 120 F wont be a problem coz the temperature to loose the screen adhesive is around 200 F
my gs6 is dead(software crash.. says that phone is over heating when it's not and wont charge because it thinks it's over heating) and I'm trying to get the memory off of it. I didn't see you guys pulling the storage. Is there a way to pull storage and get an adapter for it? or something else?
my Galaxy S6 got wet voiding the warranty with samsung. it work okay except that return soft is constantly on, making it hard even impossible to use any app. the app closes as soon as it opened. i can hear the keystrokes without me touching the return softkey. do you have any suggestions?
Dunno, the main thing that concerns me is a battery failure. Most difficult thing about that much as far as I'm concerned is putting the panels back on.
My galaxy s6 has been freezing and rebooting by itself for the past 2 weeks and this is happening more often. I have factory reset it about 4 times, wiped the cache partition several times and even flashed it. I have turned it off to charge and it turns itself on. I have booted it on safe mode and everything. I have a Galaxy S6 SM-G920I. I have noticed It heats up a bit from around the camera area. During a period of time when it was not doing this recently, I noticed it did not heat up at all. I have had this phone for 6 months and never dropped it. Would you have any idea what kind of hardware issue could be causing all this?
hey all, The best guide that I have checked out was on Volt daddy (i did a google) Without a doubt the most helpful info on batteries and this kinda thing that i have found.
I replaced the lcd screen. After I put my s6 back together, it only makes and receives calls in wifi mode, not in cell mode. Is there a chance that I left something unhooked?
I watched this and one other video. Both appear to demo a complete teardown. If only replacing the battery, after removing the backside, is it really necessary to remove the front? from what I can deduce, it appears that the battery should be accessible without having to remove the front. 2nd: Where do you get and how do you apply the glue to reassemble?
Bart Schuck To remove the battery, there is no need to remove the front assembly. but it have to access from the back, which means you need to begin with the battery door because of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Design.
Bart Schuck Our product in our store has adhesive preassembled so that our customers don't need to care about the adhesive stuff. Repair work can be simple and easy. As for what kind of adhesive, i'll check all of them for you as there are different adhesives on the parts. The most common one is 3M adhesive and also high structure glue used on rim of LCD screen. I will let you know after i get feedback from our engineers. Thanks for your question, next time we'll put this kind of information in video's beginning.
***** Thank you. Although I sense you would be a better choice than trying to do this myself, my concern is being without my phone while sending to you, waiting for repair, and then waiting for return. Even if I authorized 1-day shipping, the least amount of time I'd be down is 2 days but I'm thinking it would be closer to 3 or 4 days. Getting a temporary phone is not an option for me, so that is why I asked about the glue because I anticipate I'd have to do this myself. I thought that was the whole idea of your wonderfully instructive videos. As it is, at present my phone is just fine. I expect the need to replace the battery will come up within about 12 months.
Bart Schuck Sorry for the delay in response. I think you may have the wrong idea about us. We do not actually offer any repair services. Here at ETrade Supply we are suppliers. We work hard to get the parts to repair shops, enthusiasts and user who want to perform self repair. We make these videos to help keep anyone interested informed with tips and guides on how to perform your own repairs as well as the status of parts in the industry. On the topic of adhesives though. Many of our OEM parts have the adhesive pre applied from the supplier. That and we also have many of the OEM adhesive sheets such as this one (www.etradesupply.com/samsung-galaxy-s6-series-front-housing-adhesive.html) which is just a whole sheet you line up and apply. We hope that clears up any confusion. Thanks for watching our video, and taking the time to message us though.
Alexandru Darius Actually, there is a anti-water mark on the rear housing. depending on different material, it will be soft or turn red to show the water damage.
I HAVE A QUESTION! I have a Galaxy S4 & my LCD had burned out. & was wondering. How difficult is it to repair or replace? I took it to my Technician at Sprint but they couldnt fix it because of how hard it is. Can you help me. I dont want a $600 phone to go to waiste.
+Nathan Hadler Yep, one sensor chip on the motherboard was damaged or effected by water. You need find a professional technician to help you fix it. Don't try it by yourself. Samsung Galaxy S6 is hard to tear down parts and damaged easily. Let me know if you want more help. Good Luck! Thanks for watching though. =)
+ETrade Supply Can just the chips be replaced on the board or does it need to be replaced. I am confident about taking it apart. I have re flowed GPU's and soldered bios chips on motherboards. Do you know where I can get the parts or diagram of the mainboard.
Hi, I've seen your videos on RUclips and I really your help. I own a Samsung Galaxy S6, but I let it drop some water and now some features stopped working, such as: the screen rotation, the GPS signal, the step counter (of the app S Health) and the screen won't shutt off while I'm using the phone... So I dialed *#0*# and tested the sensor and they are all zeroed - not working. So I believe there's something to do with the sensor, because the accelerometer, the proximitiy sensor, the barometer, the gyroscope are not working. Do you know which part of the Galaxy S6 is responsible for the sensor? Motherboard? Charging port? Where are the sensor located? So if I would to repair it, which part should I fix? Please, need help!!!
+Bernardo Felix guess maybe the corresponding module on the motherboard is broken, recommending you to have a check at the professional repair central.
+ETrade Supply - I've already checked with Samsung's technical assistance, but they are claiming that they have to change the hole motherboard and a new motherboard costs here in Brazil +- US$ 600 (the price for a new phone)... so it's not worth it to fix it, better buy a new one! That's why I was wondering if it's possible to change only the accelerometer + gyroscope module...
My fast charging stopped and i cannot connect to PC either...I only get a slow charge with my fast charger....will replacing the charger port fix this or is it a motherboard issue? It's happened to me before and samsung (according to samsung) replaced the whole motherboard....But I feel optimistic that just replacing the charger port is the proper fix.
same problem with mine, then my phone stopped reading sim cards a few days ago. so not sure if its both motherboard related issues or just specific usb port and sim slot issues.
With yours being the sim card too, yours sounds like a motherboard issue... Slow charging the S6 is a nightmare, it takes up to 8 hours to get a full charge and the full charge runs out in less than 2 hours.
Im awaiting the replacement port to arrive in the post, it'll take about a month to come, if i remember then I will let you know here if replacing the charging port circuitry helped....
The amount of ingenuity and internal architecture that goes into every phone is astounding.
WOW..amazing to me...first time I've ever seen complete disassemble of a galaxy phone...interesting video...thx
Woah, this phone is even beautiful inside!
Just goes to show that this phone was built extremely well, true premium device from Samsung I can't wait until April 10th!!
Pretty amazing how few components are in something that can do so much, thank the machine god for micro engineering

Thanks for doing this! love the inside view...

Nice! Seems like all of the cosmetic parts are pretty easily replaceable, and for not very much either. Unless that digitizer goes bad, which I'm willing to bet usually stays intact during a normal drop.

Is the home button/fingerprint sensor similar to the S5's in terms of size and the number of pins on the flex connector?
That phone my friend... IS FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!
Hello guys. When are you doing a tear down for S6 edge. Great video by the way

that sounds cool! but i guess you'll still need a usb cable to connect the solar charger and your phone.
Excellent work
that is some impressive build quality
especially that battery wow that is quality
What do you use as glue for back and front plate when you assembly back this device?
Nice video, looks difficult but the internals don't look like a mess.
I like how you guys are the first to brake the lcd of s6 lol
Btw can we mod and fit s6 front and rear cams in s5 or maybe the finger scanner too
Hello! i have a question.
on the back middle frame..are 3 ribbons. On them it's says ZF-E4 what are them for?

Those are for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and actually older models had them as well.
***** so then where is the GSM (voice/text) antenna?
I got it all apart any tricks to putting back together? Do I need glue? tricks to hold the switches (volume) while assembling?
First person to have Galaxy S6 in the world....

Nice ... great job 👍
I was blushing throughout this entire video...forcefully undressing the S6 against its will.. ahh!
Wow , nice work !

looks like the hardest phone to fix or replace the battery so far.

What about the memory? Could you put in your own micro-SSD or whatever they're using?

Seems it won't work
My home button on my s6 is loose can you guys look into it and see and you can find a simple way to fix it ?
