Kingpin is one of my all favourite villians in the comics and during Daredevil, I loved the way they done him excited to see more Kingpin stories going forward
Domenick Lombardozzi as Kingpin's father is perhaps the most underappreciated casting and performance in Marvel.

The Netflix kingpin was an amazing villain who challenged the Heroes on a mental level as much as a physical one, he made us feel like Matt and friends were in serious danger. Kingpin was cold, calculating, and always one step ahead of everyone keeping us all guessing what he would do next.
I hope the MCU makes him a serious threat again, who we feel actually has a chance of winning, and redeems his debut in Hawkeye.

God watching this recap brought back so many good memories. Daredevil is one of the greatest shows ever made
its so great seeing the appreciation of the daredevil series it is a glass of the finest wine in the marvel movie/ tv pantheon it been nine years and in the MCU still has difficulties dishing out any show that compares. Daredevil comics have always been one of my favorite thank you ryan for this amazing recaps.
Kingpin was benching nearly 500 lbs. in the Netflix show so him ripping off a car door in hawkeye isn’t all that far fetched. He’s always been super strong, it’s just Disney has the budget to really show it
In Hawkeye he gets shot by an arrow in the chest and brushes it off. Then he gets plowed by a car full-speed through a storefront and gets right back up. Does benching 500 lbs. allow for that? LOL.

lol I'm very much involved in the bodybuilding and powerlifting community. And I can assure you benching 500 pounds would not allow you just rip a car door off. If you could it would totally be a strong man event.

Looking forward to watching Echo! I do appreciate this recap because it has been a while since I've watched Daredevil but I think I'm just going to re-watch it anyway just because the show is phenomenal.
I’m excited for Echo. I wasn’t before, but the recent trailers looked good and I’m hoping it’s dark and gritty like Nextflix’s Daredevil & Punisher. It has promise, hoping this serves as a nice appetizer before DD: Born Again eventually comes out.
My biggest concern with the new Daredevil series in Disney Plus is the MCU's tendency to make every final fight a huge messy CGI fest. The final fights in the original Netflix series were so personal and emotional it was so satisfying than majority of the MCU films and series.

The only complaint I had about the Daredevil series was they never showed his stunts. In the comics he would be talking to someone and,without “looking”, just backflip off the roof of a high rise building. We knew he was blind and had a radar that made it possible, but they freaked out. It was like how Batman always just disappears on people. Anyway, I would like to thank you for the Doug training montage. Made my day. Extra scritches for the stair master!
I really like the irony that both Kingpin and Daredevil hate each other so much, but essentially have the same goal of making "Hell" a better place.
I’ve now got to rewatch the show. Loved Daredevil😎
Excellent video as usual... just one question: what did Hawkeye know about Fisk? It seems like he already knew about him in a way that made him uneasy once he knew he was involved🤔

What makes Kingpin so amazing is that (at least in the shows) he’s has so many layers below the surface and that’s what a lot of these newer marvel characters they’ve created haven’t had

I think after their brief fight against each other in prison is when Fisk put two and two together about Matt & Daredevil being one in the same. But after the events of Defenders, it wasn't until that episode of Season 3 of Daredevil specifically that Matt "officially" resurfaces.

if echo is successful does anyone else want to see a ronin series? a prequel following hawkeye's stint as ronin and dealing with fisk for the first time. fills in some gaps of how he got out of jail and why hawkeye was so fearful of him.
I’m a big fan of Ryan’s universe explaining videos of that makes sense….
The Defenders Saga is one of the best series ever made. It would be cool to breakdown all the shows.

I’m definitely feeling the effects of having a mcu interconnected universe it kinda sucks that everything takes so long to make it’s gonna be like 10 years plus probably before we could see a comics accurate 616 cast of characters represented on screen cause i wanna see Tony stark interact with reed Richard’s and Bruce banner and Hank Pym. (Thats not so old) 😂
I am going to put this out there, these last 2 phases should have been straight street level. Rebuilding the universe leading to the mutiverse.

Great recap, Ryan. Given that Kingpin appears to have some sort of powers now (survives getting shot point blank, ripping a car door off), I wonder if getting beaten so resoundly by Daredevil twice has led him to seek out some way to come out on top in his next encounter with the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. We know the Super Solider Serum seems to be floating around out there (as you noted), and there are a few mysterious benefactors that still haven't been identified, wouldn't take much to connect those dots to Kingpin.
I assumed he still wears one of the suits that Melvin Potter made him that would protect him against bullets and Kate’s arrow
@@richardbudd3217 By shot point bank, I was referring to how he seems to be relatively fine after getting shot in the eye by Echo in the Hawkeye finale.
Power Broker connection would explain it. Perhaps Sharon Carter is on his payroll.

AG1 is no better than a generic "greens" powder. They tout a "proprietery blend" but that just lets them avoid transparent ingredients labeling.
If their proprietary blend was something special, they would WANT you to know whats in it. So chances are the blend is just cheap vitamin powder or something.
Save money, eat veggies.
Great video. I have one, possibly 2 questions. Was it Kingpin that told the Tracksuits to go after the watch at the black market auction, or was that Maya or Kazi? And if he did, what did he want with it?

Well, I totally forgot about many characters shown in daredevil, so this video was a good reminder of the series of kingpin.
Also its funny that the daredevil's mustard sauce suit in she hulk is brought down.
Daredevil is my favorite Marvel/MCU etc show, period. Perfection. I have really high expectations going forward

I really hope they give kingpin the super soldier serum in the mcu, it makes perfect sense to me, it works as a connection to the broader mcu, makes him an even greater threat that Matt can no longer face alone, and we can also maybe get a realistic badass fight between him and Spider-Man where your suspension of disbelief doesn’t have to be through the roof to make it work

You need to worry anytime that a sponsor talks about "the science". That's the kind of thing that the vape companies used to do.
Did she shoot him in the eyes with the smallest weakest bullets ever or is kingpins eye sockets coated with adamantium? This season he is kingpin aka Achilles dipped in adamantium but just not on his feet can echo shoot him in the foot before it’s to late
Ppl have survived been shot in the face, in the head, and in the eye in real life. Why is this still shocking when portrayed in fiction?
You are not the first, and this is not the only instance I have heard some kind of blowback about characters surviving gunshots to the head.

My neighbor shot herself in the face and survived. Thankfully she got treated for her mental illness and is doing so much better. She did lose her eyesight in one eye.
@@Phizzo4real The point is that Maya Lopez had a chance to kill him but didn't. She could have totally let loose and not just settle for the one shot that she did. She has one point in the lame category for that event.

They showed us the fight in the commercial. Despite of one-shot, the fight was badly filmed: air punching and awkward movements like they were waiting for something, daredevil was slower

Just watched Echo. It was fine. It serves two purposes; one, to create an origin story for Echo and two, to set up King Pin going forward. Mission accomplished.

I am the iIl intent...one of my favorite lines and scene in the MCU
Theory - I know who is going to be the character in the MCU who finally brings down Kingpin for good - Ghost Rider. Synopsis - Since the Netflix series is now fully canonized that means that Kingpin's ideology has been brought over into the MCU as well. So, in Daredevil season 1 episode 4 Kingpin says to Vanessa, "I'm not proud of the things I've done, Vanessa. I've hurt people. And I'm going to hurt more. It's impossible to avoid for what I'm trying to do." Then he says in season 1 episode 8, "That's why I still wear these, to remind myself that I'm not cruel for the sake of cruelty. That I'm not my father! That I'm not a monster!' With these quotes, Kingpin is saying that he's fully aware what he's doing is hurting those around him and that at some level, he his cruel. Ghost Rider's penance stare only works on those who have souls and know what they've done, that's why Ghost Rider is the perfect character to truly defeat Kingpin.
Damn Daredevil and The Punisher shows were so good. Hope they return them to this form.
Pretty sure Fisk didn’t arrange that hit on himself during the transport! He snitched on many people noway he could have known the route before they left and I said once they moved over to the mcu they’d have to have there abilities comparable to be in the mcu! Noway Netflix daredevil can take a punch from Spiderman! They had to amp them up
