Hey guys! This is a bit of a trailer/highlight reel of our time in China.. more in-depth vlogs will be following so keep an eye out and hit that notification bell so you know when it's ready! Beans out! 😁💛
I was there in 1980...totally different !! Stayed with Italian Ambassador's family on their compound, on the beach. Not one resort...just a beach restaurant at the end of the island. The best memory was my motorbike rides, and meeting my driver I dubbed, "James." He helped me in the markets, and on my final day, he interrupted my business breakfast...urging me to leave, NOW. I trusted him after three weeks, so left early. Well, the road to my bus was washed out, and he recognized I would have been late...hence, the urgency !! Shout out to " James !!" He was so grateful when I left him a well deserved gift of monies. and a new motorbike seat ! Cheers !
I’m a huge fan of your channel and long time subscriber, but only just found this video when searching for places to go in Hainan next month!! How did I miss this video?! Lots of love ❤
travel beans again Asian tours is what im craving for you guys im so excited yo see you again travelling together you inspired me alot sweet beans😍😍😍😍😍
Wish you guys have wonderful times in China. China always welcomes kind people to travel, to study, to do business with. And Hainan provice is VISA FREE to many countries.
Heyyyy! Thank you guys for coming to my hometown and posting such awesome video! I bet it must have been hard for you guys going around since there are not many English speaking people. But I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed your time in Hainan. Thank you for letting the world knows this lovely little island! ❤️
welcome to China again, welcome to my hometown zhangjiajie which is famous for mountains and river, also fenghuang is good choice too. wish you happy good time in China
What an amazing fantastic discovery. Our dear friend in Beijing spoke of this place many times, as her parents have a vacation condo there. But I never imagined it this wonderful. Definitely on our early 2020 bucket list :) Great share guys. Best, James and Kim
Great bargain for those noodle dishes - 20 RMB = ~$2.80. Like many of the other commentors, I never knew a place like this existed in China. And, the visa info. is very helpful. As always, thank you both. Oh yeah, nice music... again. ☺
Hainan is a special tax free zone now and it requires no visa for all foreigners. It's very lovely to explore. Btw, the island is big and have high speed train circling the entire island. This means you can go for multiple cities (costal only now) easily.
Vacation in China, I think of way too many people! This is because I saw Nicole Eddy’s video, summer in Beijing. She was there during school holiday. So, all of the families were out touristing as well. Oh, also too hot! I’d love to go to Shanghai! They have a pretty good beer scene. 🍻 But, not during the summer, and not when everyone is on vacation!
Yes, I suppose if you go anywhere during the summer holidays it will be busy. We actually didn't fine it too crowded there at all.. maybe we were lucky :)
I was in Sanya in May and what a stunning place it is! Part of it is a bit like Russian Magaluf but still a beautiful place. How did you find the heat?
Hong Kong is also a city in China that attracted a lot of tourists in the past, but there have been too many violent protests in Hong Kong recently. Tourists are not recommended to stay in Hong Kong. I personally recommend transiting through Hong Kong to Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Guangzhou (cities in Guangdong province) and Shanghai. There is a high-speed railway. Tourists can travel from Hong Kong International Airport to Kowloon Station by Airport Express (this is a fast train but not the high-speed railway the media refers to), and then walk along a covered footbridge with good signage to the Hong Kong West Kowloon Station, which is the high-speed railway station. There are always sufficient seats on high-speed railway trains, so there is no need to reserve in advance.
Thank you for publishing a very nice video I wish you a pleasant trip. Is there an airport on this island? You did not explain how you arrived on the island. Thanks again
Looks awsome, have they given you a discount code for any of your favourite subscribers to get a discount. I would definitely give it a go as I like the thought of experience china but would need some affordable luxury to go back to in the evenings otherwise I could never sell it to the other half 😂
That looks amazing, how did you cope with not knowing any of the local language, what is it by the way? Was any English spoken anywhere? or did you have to use a translator on your phone?
The hotel staff were all very good at english and when we were at the local markets etc we always manage to get by the same way as any other country.. with a combination of charades and translation apps haha it's all part of the experience
Absolutely fantastic video guys. Certainly looks like an exciting place and all that food looked lush. Loving the voice over - you should have your own TV show👍👍👊🏽
You are giving me so many good ideas on where to travel! aargh! Do you think it is possible to find budget-friendly places to stay in Sanya? Thanks for the inspiration :)
Well the Pullman was around 50 quid a night - so you definitely get a lot for your money compared to similar places in Europe etc. But I'm not sure if there's much in the way of backpacker or hostel accommodation. We got the impression the area was more aimed at people wanting a bit of a luxury break without spending a ton of money..
@@TravelBeans Okay thanks for your answer :) I'll do a bit of research on that then. It's just so convenient that many countries have the 30-day free-visa there (I had no clue that was possible before now). I always wanted to go to China but I'm such a bad planner in that matter. Hainan could be a winner! Thank you guys
The pronunciation is “San-Ya”. San just as in “San Francisco”, Ya similar to “Yard” without the ending d. Both Emma and Alex made it sound kind of like Sa-Nya, which is not correct. The Chinese is 三亚, two characters. In standard mandarin pronunciation, one character is one syllable, there is no link between syllables (characters). Here, the first character pronounces “San”, meaning three. The second character pronounces “Ya”. You cannot link the n sound at the end of “San” to the next character.
There’re bunch of Russian tourists there, but friendly remind you guys, never ever get there during the Chinese spring festival holidays, they would scams you
Certainly an exotic location that few people have been to, but how about the ethical issues related to being sponsored by a totalitarian government? It doesn't take much research to see the human rights abuses happening in China now and how it's projecting it's soft and hard influence not only in the South China sea, but in Europe as well. I don't expect the travelers I watch to get involved in politics, but I think crossing the line is taking gifts from very questionable governments to promote their country.
When going to see the pyramids - are you endorsing Al Sissi? Are Christians going to the Holy Land endorsing Bibi? Traveling is just people. People aren't their gov'ts. Alec/Emma aren't opening a hotel there or other businesses like Apple, Alphabet, etc.
They stole islands further south, paved over the beaches and dredged the corals and turned them into missile and naval bases. At the same time, Chinese illegal poachers fish in other countries' EEZs with massive commercial boats that outcompete native fishermen as well as buy literal _tons_ of endangered species like pangolins and turtles to make into Chinese penis enlarging powder. China is one of those countries I refuse to visit except as an airport stopover. There's a reason why there are no other Asians visiting Hainan.
Angry Kittens I don't know why you worry so much as China does not welcome ppl like you anyway at first place. Brain washed ppl never bother to open eyes to see real world. I don't even understand what made you come to watch this beautiful video, only to spread your hatreds. If you do research a bit and be able to learn history a bit, you will know where "hot issue" as American always emphasized came from. To be honest, I don't really understand the logic here, if anything, America has the least rights to talk about other country abusing power and stealing lands. Hawaii belongs to austranesian, America itself belongs to native Indian, Alaska belongs to Eskimo, do I need to mention Guam! Seriously? Just quite bad to see ppl like you lacking of independent thinking ability yet love to make a comment on things you have no clue. As I read somewhere today, the existence of some ppl is just like existence of shit, only meaning is to make you disgusted. Am I being clear?
Philip Jessup as for human rights, do you boycott American products as it is the worst country in human rights abusing. You can forget about Iraq, but you can't forget what they did in Syria. You can forget the native Indians, but you can't forget Vietnam. If you have chance, go to war museum in HCM Vietnam, the photos showed all the crimes American made during the war. Chemical weapons were commonly used, slaughter of random citizens. You can blame everything on history, but America government isn't getting any better. Look at Iraq today (check the news), can you hold your bible and tell people you truly believe Iraq ppl live in a happier and better lives now. I do hope you keep your words as you care so much about human rights, boycott American products so that evilness of all the evil won't get spread further.
I lived and worked in Sanya for 4 years it's such a magical place. I like this video but I kind of wish you didn't share this secret paradise with RUclips. Go to Thailand instead, don't visit Hainan. Thanks.
sanya is one of the uninteressting places i visited. the beach is not great, the local streets are dirty, you are not allowed to swim, because, they expect, that europeans also can not swim...., its no clear sky, and one time we had a tafiun.....so i donb´t suggest a holiday in hainan, just in case, you work in china and want a short trip, but don´t expect so much.....and also the russians there are a big negative point.
Hi thanks for the lovely review, could you tell me the best way to book a flight there, anything to fill out for the non visa side of things plus was your visit during the pandemic? Looking to go there for my 50th🫶

You gave the Tourism Board a gem in attracting new visitors. Great video!
Thank you for another informative video. I, for one, am extremely grateful for sharing this new found location with us
You have to wonder about the level of chafing from that tree bark clothing 🤔 Thank you both for showing us this area of China, truly beautiful ♥️
haha so true !
Great playlist. We live in Hainan and didn't know everything you told us. Cheers!
I love the Beans Out!! And Emma's laugh! And I had no idea that that place even existed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!
This is really a surprise. Thank you both for showing it to us. Waiting for the next episode!🙋♀️

Wow it looks so beautiful there! We're so excited because we head to China in a month!
Nice! Where are you planning to go?
@@TravelBeans Beijing and the norther provices - but kinda kicking ourselves now seeing Hainan island is so beautiful!
been to 23 provinces... but i missed this glorious province. With no visa needed, i would put this on my list.
I love beaches. I was in China 4 years ago for 3 weeks 8 city I see beaches😪
Very nice... Paradise indeed🤩
it will be great series. 😁💛
WOW! Too gorgeous!! Too short!! 😁💙💚💜💟😁

beautiful people💕
😍oh... I wanna go there
Is the Visa deal the same for Americans?
I hope it doesn't become too famous because it's very beautiful and too many tourism ruin places (see kho phi island in Thailand)
Hainan is already a very popular place amongst Russians and Chinese though
Lived in Changsha, Hunan for 6 months, now I'm back in the Philippines regretting I didn't check out their beaches.
we love the filipino beaches...
@@TravelBeans I just wish we have less trash and Emma doesn't have to pick it up. Love you guys!

Do you have the address for Nantian Springs?
Just wondering, does this video have to be reviewed by the Sanya tourism bureau before you release it?
Hey, no it didn't we didn't need any approval. Why do you ask? :)
Looks stunning
Hi, guys, how is you emma n alex.. miss u both..amin,
your tune is too formal like an official ad. it's like you got paid by sanya tourist authority lol
Where’s the beach ?
"You virtually have a pool to yourself".
Nah, you're not really in China right now, are you ? Have a great week Alex and Emma

Hainan, home to Chinese naval bases that exert power over regions that don't belong to China. Like the West Philippine Sea.
Donald Collins do you mean it just like Hawaii to America?
@@samsara1 This comparison makes no sense.
Good vid but those
A 9 minute video about Sanya and you never mentioned Dolphin bar?!
Come to Vietnam
Yeh but did you know that Britain has a longer coastline than China? fascinating don't you think?
@Craig Wikipedia isn't taking into account the wiggle factor and Scotland has the 2nd most wiggliest coast in the world.
Beaches, a rain forest and food. Is that it? Looks boring as hell. Absolutely not much to do there at all by the looks of it.
What is the name of the hotel you stayed in? :3
Can you talk to anybody? Can you get invited into somebody's home? That's why I travel. Not to buy crap.
