I loved living here. We were there each full summer between teaching in italy back in 1969and 1970. We and my German girlfriend rented a family home (6 room) for 30 dollars a month.. I fell in love with this village and at the time it was quite primitive and we felt so privileged to be so welcomed by the people. I remember sitting stringing beans with a villager on the porch of her home. You feel so welcome and you are invited to work and participate in family life that no hotel can match for experience. I remember very well the Blue Fox cafe
Great video Fred! I like your way of sharing your travels. Did you make other videos of Lesvos? I am headed there soon to visit friends. Thank you for your informative video!
A funny story. My friend and I didn't take much notice of the name of the Island, but first off landing is tricky and apparently only the Captain is allowed to land the plane, not the First Officer. We did two go arounds before landing. Apparently it has difficult terrain, winds and a short runway which can only be seen when aircraft is 2 miles away. At the hotel we were taken to our room with a double bed, I said no, we are just friends it didn't help when my friend said I've got a bad knee haha! Anyway, they gave us a room with two singles. Went our for a drink and in the drink were straws with two naked ladies figures etched on the top of them. If you aren't gay and visiting this lovely Island I recommend you make it very clear to the Hotel you are heterosexual. The Island is unspoilt, with Donkeys still used for carrying olives, etc.
😮 as a German-Turk I don’t know how to interpret this, we have an interesting past in Germany you know, we are very sensitive about some things, especially the German inside of me is feeling disappointed about you 🤪
Love the honesty of the video. I really hate the dull pictures with cheesy Muzak and/or inane voice over that could have been written by the tourist office…this is so much more balanced. Although I do think there’s quite a few paved roads in lesvos…but it’s all relative.
I clicked on this thinking it would some talking about some guy teaching “how to convert lesbians” or some shit... I forgot it’s an island. I’m stupid as fuck and would like to apologize 😅
@@barazelenkova2179 I agree. How rude and how annoying. She went to so much trouble to send something unkind and totally inappropriate. Well good for us-she won't be back to ruin things soon.

“Primitive” is a very strong word 🤯
Yes I also loved Lesbos… It’s greener than some of the other Greek islands to the south…
I am from Italy… I noticed you have an accent Fred… where are you from originally? 😂
Yes! There was born famous Greek poetess Sappho! Wonderful Lesbos island🏝
Greetings dear friend🌹🌹🌹
And yes this island is the reason the word lesbian exists, it’s not a coincidence
Good video thanks for sharing
so this is where they come from
What I leave in Lesvos first is Lesvos and not Lesbos and the world lesbian is not from here
@@petervelis9587yes, it is, according to Wikipedia
Sappho of Lesvos, the great Ancient Greek poet who described, among other things, love between women
Where are the women kissing?
Thanks, very interesting video. 🙏👏
Wonderful introduction to the island

We can see Turkey from Chíos. It’s sad.

It’s literally full of lesbians
VERY DISAPPOINTED????
Err about that...

oh bro i saw you in moria camp !
I want to go there just so I can exclaim "Wow, look at all the Lesbians."

@@RickyrabI’m dying here. 😂
I went to Lesbos
So that means forest and or something
Thank you for the reality check. It is not a place with inhabited by sexy platonic women. This island is a consideration for the University and Art.

I think you should not begrudge someone "putting a house" where you want to walk. Maybe they didn't want a "dirty" beach like you experienced.
💃. Wish i had an air bnb house here. 💃

You need to know that it is very dirty.
No, it’s not.
Fred is hot

You don’t think it’s nice for people to build a house on their own property? I bet you get annoyed a lot.
I think you should shave your chest. Couldn’t watch until the end, too 🤢
how rude!

I think you should mind your own business. His body hair is nothing to do with you.
bro he's prolly Greek he has thick hair.. imagine some guy saying this about your hairy legs btw? body positivity applies to men too.
